Mrs. Huo is a Crybaby Chapter 4: Don’t Provoke Me, I’m ‘Fierce’

Previously on Mrs. Huo is a Crybaby...
Song Jingwan’s resentment toward Song Yaoyao escalates as their confrontation intensifies, marked by a physical altercation that leaves Song Yaoyao vowing to make her sister pay for a past trauma. As Song Jingwan struggles with her feelings and refuses to admit fault, Song Yaoyao grapples with her own emotional and physical pain following the encounter. Feeling inadequate and hungry, she leaves the bathroom to explore the lavish resort, where she accidentally collides with a stranger, resulting in a painful tumble and an emotional breakdown.

Actually, she hadn't intended to weep—but the agony was simply too much! It wasn't as if she could suppress a natural physiological response just because she wanted to.

Huo Yunque: “...”

The man's brow furrowed as he observed the girl on the ground who had intruded upon his private space. Clutching her head, she was twitching and sobbing in intense pain.

Even though she was the one who had crashed into him, she acted as if she were the victim instead of the other way around.

The racket was giving Huo Yunque a headache. He cast a glance at Song Yaoyao, his lips parting slightly as he commanded a subordinate lurking in the shadows, “Kick her out.”

The man possessed a voice that was melodic, yet freezing and detached.

“Yes, sir.”

Song Yaoyao’s crying ceased. Gasping for breath, she continued to hold her head.

Meanwhile, Huo Yunque turned to depart. However, before he could take many steps, he felt a tug on his Chinese-style robe.

He shifted his gaze downward to find the girl sprawled on the floor, her hand tightly gripping the edge of his garment.

She was tiny, curled up like a small ball on the ground. In the glow of the moonlight, he noted that her nose and eyes were flushed from weeping; her dark orbs put him in mind of summer-chilled grapes: round and glistening.

“Let go!”

His tone was frigid, laced with a hint of irritation.

“No!”

Song Yaoyao had never been treated so unfairly. Clingling to the hem of Huo Yunque’s robe, she spoke in a faint, congested voice, “You hurt me. Apologize!”

Huo Yunque looked down, his eyes landing on Song Yaoyao’s reddened forehead. His eyebrows arched slightly. Was this girl truly so fragile?

Huo Qi, who had just arrived, felt his legs go weak. He stared at the brazen girl in disbelief, thinking to himself, good heavens, who is this aggressive young lady? How does she have the nerve to block Master Huo and demand an apology?

You might be lovely and your voice might be soft, but Master Huo has never cared for the opposite sex! If you believe this is a way to catch his eye, you are wro—

“No.”

Huo Qi silently rubbed his face upon hearing Huo Yunque’s refusal. That metaphorical slap to the face was painful!

Huo Yunque felt a surge of amusement, but he didn't let it show. He merely watched Song Yaoyao with a relaxed air, waiting to see how she would react.

Song Yaoyao: “...” This man is incredibly irritating!

Her backside ached and the urge to cry returned. Song Yaoyao pouted, her temper rising.

“If you don’t apologize, I won’t... hic... I won’t let go!”

What did it feel like to hiccup right in the middle of a sentence meant to be intimidating?

Huo Qi couldn't suppress a chuckle. Huo Yunque shot a freezing look at Huo Qi, who suddenly felt a cold shiver run down his spine. As the air around him grew chilly, goosebumps broke out on his skin.

“Apologies, sir, I’ll remove her at once!” Huo Qi’s laughter vanished instantly. He lunged forward, seizing the back of Song Yaoyao’s collar, prepared to haul her away before his boss decided to turn the girl into fertilizer for the garden.

It would truly be a waste for such a beautiful girl to end up as plant food!

Because Song Yaoyao looked so dainty and fair, Huo Qi intended to be gentle. To his shock, however, the moment he reached out, the world spun. With a loud thud, he found himself flat on his back before he could even process what happened.

“Oh, I...” what the hell??

What just occurred? Did I just run into a ghost?

Song Yaoyao stood up. Her eyes remained red as tears continued to stream down. While weeping, she pointed at the dazed Huo Qi on the floor. “This is between us. You, stay out of it!”

Turning back, she once again grabbed the corner of Huo Yunque’s robe. “Hurry up and apologize. I need to go eat.”

A glimmer of interest appeared in Huo Yunque’s eyes. Fiddling with the prayer beads in his hand, he inquired, “And what if I refuse?”
