MMORPG: The Almighty Ring Chapter 3020

Fortunately, destroying proved far simpler than constructing. Jiang Fei just had to alter the energy string's frequency without pinpointing an exact one. Thus, despite spiritual power being much more demanding than spiritual power, he still managed to achieve his objective.
Upon Jiang Fei's contact with the energy string, a single particle's attribute shifted, sparking a chain reaction. The string's frequency changed sequentially, altering the particles' original attributes in turn.
These shifts occurred randomly, with only a tiny chance of gaining superior properties. After the transformation, most particle structures turned out weaker than their previous state.
“Clang!” The Chengying Sword leaped back into Jiang Fei’s hand.
This time around, Jiang Fei swung the Chengying Sword, slicing effortlessly through the stone wall’s defenses. The massive barrier shattered into chunks.
Continuing to excavate, Jiang Fei soon uncovered an ornate wooden box. Inside it lay a hexagram-shaped key.
“All done!” Jiang Fei smiled faintly, then tossed the key in his palm before storing it away.
Securing the key made exiting the underground chamber a breeze. Though the elders had sealed the door upon departure, it couldn’t block Lord Jiang’s teleportation. Before, ignorant of the chamber’s location and interior, Jiang Fei hadn’t risked teleporting in blindly. Now, however, a simple wave of his hand brought him back to his palace side hall.
“Husband, you’re back? How did it go? Did you get it?” Ariel rushed over immediately.
“Hehe, when your husband steps up, how could there be failure?” Jiang Fei boasted proudly while playfully pinching Ariel’s nose.
“Hmph!” Ariel huffed lightly, wrinkling her nose. Yet, she wasn’t upset; instead, she nestled against Jiang Fei’s shoulder with a smile. “Quick, show it to me!”
“Here.” Jiang Fei retrieved the key from his ring’s space and passed it to her.
“This is the key...” Ariel toyed with it briefly before losing interest and tossing it back.
“Enough playing!” Nina lightly tapped Ariel’s forehead, then approached Jiang Fei. “What’s next? Unsealing with Su Rui and the others?”
“Yeah! It’s inevitable anyway.” Jiang Fei nodded. Without settling the 10,000-year pact with the mechs, he couldn’t obtain the password. Lacking that, activating the shuttle to escape the black hole remained impossible. Thus, opening the seal was unavoidable.
“True enough! But I worry that if the mechs regain their tech and spread it to the outer universe, it might...” Nina trailed off, voicing her concerns indirectly.
“I considered that before arriving. But seeing the mechs’ current condition has eased my mind. Such advanced tech demands centuries of development to reclaim. Even if they access the treasury now, they’d only use it superficially. Upon my return outside, I’ll carry the core tech data to Skoda Star. Backed by our foundation, we’ll master it well before they do,” Jiang Fei explained.
“Hmm... you’re right!” Nina agreed with a nod. Having lingered longer on this planet, she understood these Protoss far better—they differed vastly from the mechs Jiang Fei once described.
“Alright, let’s rest up first. Big things await tomorrow!” Jiang Fei grinned.
“Okay!” The two ladies nodded, then all three retired to their rooms.
..
The next morning, Su Rui showed up punctually outside Jiang Fei’s side hall, like clockwork.
“How’s it going? Has Jiang Fei returned?” Su Rui bellowed upon entering the courtyard.
“Quiet down! Fetch your brother!” Jiang Fei’s voice echoed from within.
“Got it!” Elated by Jiang Fei’s tone, Su Rui dashed to his brother’s quarters. Su Zhe was still asleep.
Planet Namek’s inhabitants reproduced parthenogenetically, lacking any notion of female partners. Su Rui burst straight into the bedroom; the door guards didn’t dare intervene. Thus, he reached Su Zhe’s room door directly.
“Brother! Brother! Rise and shine!” Su Rui yelled from outside.
“Why are you in such a rush? What’s with the early morning disturbance?” Su Zhe grumbled as he emerged from the main hall, still rubbing sleep from his eyes. Had the intruder not been his own brother, Su Zhe would’ve immediately ordered him thrown out and slain.
“Brother! Come on, follow me now!” Without wasting words, Su Rui yanked Su Zhe from his bedroom and dashed directly to Jiang Fei’s side hall.
Spotting their destination, Su Zhe instantly caught on.
“Did Jiang Fei pull it off?” Su Zhe questioned.
“Most likely!” Su Rui replied.
“What’s with the ‘most likely’? Success or failure—spit it out!” Su Zhe scowled.
“No chance to check. He sent me straight to grab you,” Su Rui explained.
“Sigh! You!” Su Zhe shook his head. His little brother had gone completely gaga over Jiang Fei.
Moments later, the brothers reached Jiang Fei’s side hall. Upon entering, Su Zhe cut straight to it: “Well? Did you snag it?”
“Naturally!” Jiang Fei nodded, pulling out the key.
“Swish!” The instant Jiang Fei produced the key, Su Zhe flicked his wrist. A flash of white light burst from his palm, forming an identical hexagram there.
Su Zhe then grabbed the hexagram Jiang Fei had retrieved and held it next to his own. The pair looked strikingly alike, though minor variances stood out.
“Exactly! This is the one!” Su Zhe confirmed with a nod that Jiang Fei’s prize was the authentic key.
“Brother! When do we break the seal?” Su Rui urged.
“This...” Su Zhe wavered slightly.
“Jiang Fei, what’s your view on timing?” Noticing Su Zhe’s silence, Su Rui turned to Jiang Fei.
“The sooner we act, the better, of course. The exiles return any day now. Time’s short for drilling our troops. Worse, the elders could spot the missing key anytime and meddle. If they interfere, we’re in deep trouble. Best to cook that raw rice fast!” Jiang Fei declared.
“Brother! Tonight it is!” Fueled by Jiang Fei’s words, Su Rui brimmed with impatience.
