MIGHT AS WELL BE OP Chapter 928: Not Enough
Previously on MIGHT AS WELL BE OP...
Once their conversation ended, the two of them ascended from the ground almost at once, transforming into streaks of light as they soared toward the observation area where Anthony, Lucian, Aaaninja, and the others waited. As they drew near, the air felt different; the lingering echoes of their fierce confrontation still vibrated within the very fabric of space.
Rain rested among the spectators, a soft smile playing on his lips. Although the sheer, terrifying destructive force exhibited by both Aura Nova and Kingsley Sky had initially stunned him, the shock was fleeting. It was swiftly replaced by a warmth that felt deeply personal.
Pure joy.
He felt a profound sense of happiness because Aura Nova had finally breached the threshold of the Cosmos after years of stalling. This was a transition he had anticipated for much longer than anyone realized.
In this moment, Rain resembled a proud father watching his child dominate the craft she loved, seeing her finally ascend to a stage that had been reserved for her all along.
Aura Nova and Kingsley landed simultaneously, reclaiming their seats with a composure that suggested nothing out of the ordinary had occurred. Anthony, Lucian, and Aaaninja, seated in a group, instantly pivoted their focus toward the pair.
Lucian initiated the conversation, his smile carrying an invasive edge, "You both went all out, huh?"
"It was only natural that we did," Aura Nova answered, seating herself with elegance. "After all, this was a fight that could have easily led to death."
A soft chuckle escaped Lucian. "I personally can’t wait to battle you," he admitted, his fascination obvious and unchecked. "I love your ability, by the way. Even that last form of yours—beautiful, mesmerizing." Despite witnessing the power of Root Access Mode with his own eyes, Lucian appeared entirely unfazed. If anything, his curiosity had intensified.
Meanwhile, Aaaninja’s attention had drifted toward Kingsley. While Lucian remained fixated on Aura Nova, Aaaninja studied Kingsley Sky. He was intrigued not just by the result of the duel, but by the fundamental mechanics behind it.
Kingsley had achieved those feats without utilizing mana or any traditional form of energy.
Earlier, Aaaninja had attempted to commune with the River of Time, seeking a glimpse into the source of this man's uniqueness. However, an interference had distorted the temporal flow, denying him any clarity.
’Universal Techniques, huh?’ Aaaninja mused silently.
Kingsley had effectively erased a segment of the Galaxy. While that portion was merely a speck of sand in a vast desert compared to the true scale of the Galaxy, it remained a staggering achievement that could not be dismissed. Aaaninja knew true power when he encountered it.
’I wonder... are there Concepts of Time as well?’ His train of thought shifted, recalling the dialogue between Aura Nova and Kingsley. He had queried the River of Time directly, but it remained silent. Aaaninja understood the River well enough to know that such silence carried a specific meaning.
The inquiry was beyond his current level of existence.
Even though Kingsley had ultimately fallen to Aura Nova while using his Concept, Aaaninja did not ignore the terrifying potential it held. He briefly glanced at Aura Nova before shaking his head, deciding to set the matter aside. When the moment arrived, he would simply face her himself.
Nearby, Veronica, Altheria, and Vega had already flocked to Aura Nova's side.
"Damn," Vega whispered, inspecting Aura Nova as if she were a literal monster. "So you were this powerful?" She had previously claimed her father’s pocket dimension could contain the fight. It was now clear that her assessment had been a massive underestimation of both Aura Nova and Kingsley. The raw destructive energy they had unleashed far surpassed everyone's expectations.
"It’s nothing special," Aura Nova countered with a brief, dismissive grin. "I’m sure every one of us possesses at least that much power."
"Certainly not Veronica and I," Altheria cut in, her tone dry. Neither she nor Veronica had reached planetary-level strength yet.
Vega and Aura Nova shared a laugh at the remark, neither attempting to contradict her.
"But seriously," Altheria added, her voice turning grave, "to think planetary-level beings possess this much power... I couldn’t even see you people move. A single attack destroyed planets, stars, entire solar systems like they were nothing."
"I, for one, wish I had your Omniedit ability," Veronica stated plainly. "That thing is completely broken." The memory of the devastating, absurd attacks Aura Nova had chained together remained vivid in her mind.
To the side, Klaus leaned toward Vega, grinning. "You see how much fun everyone’s having? It’s not too late to join in, you know."
A headache immediately began to throb in Vega's temples. Klaus had been pestering her to join the sparring sessions since the moment Aura Nova and Kingsley began their duel.
"Dad," Vega sighed, "this is child harassment at this point."
"Too bad justice doesn’t exist," Klaus shot back with a shrug, showing no remorse.
In another corner, Anthony sat in a composed silence, his eyes locked onto Kingsley. While the others were preoccupied with banter or reacting to the display, Anthony had detected a subtle shift.
Something vital.
’Something has changed within him,’ Anthony observed internally.
For a mere heartbeat after the fight, Kingsley’s aura had sharpened and deepened before fading entirely. While Anthony didn't fully grasp the nature of the change, he recognized its importance. Kingsley had gained a new realization, or perhaps he had shattered an invisible barrier following his defeat.
’The Universe’s Blessing is no joke,’ Anthony thought, shaking his head. Even so, he felt no envy toward Kingsley. There was simply no cause for it.
"So," Aura Nova’s voice sounded from his side, breaking his concentration. "What do you think?"
Her primary objective for this match had never wavered. Her target was Anthony—not Lucian Darkheart, nor Aaaninja Chronisynth Eternos. After all, those two had already been defeated by Anthony in the past.
Anthony shifted his gaze toward her, his face calm. "Powerful," he admitted sincerely. "But still not enough. You might lose to Aaaninja or Lucian before you even get to me." A slight smile appeared as his sky-blue eyes met hers.
Aura Nova wasn't discouraged at all. Instead, she smirked. She was already anticipating her next clash. Whether her opponent was Lucian, Anthony, or Aaaninja, her self-confidence remained absolute.
Admittedly, Kingsley had pushed her harder than most, but that was to be expected. If Kingsley hadn't possessed that level of strength, he would have been a worthless opponent in this session.
And Aura Nova had no interest in battles that lacked meaning.
