MIGHT AS WELL BE OP Chapter 927: Questions

Previously on MIGHT AS WELL BE OP...
Kingsley Sky remains kneeling in the wake of his crushing defeat against Aura Nova, grappling with the reality of his third major loss. Despite combining his Concept of Destruction with his most powerful techniques, he was unable to overcome her reality-warping authority. This encounter, following previous failures against the Executioner and Anthony, shatters his long-held status as an invincible warrior. However, as his abilities return and the pressure fades, Kingsley finds a newfound resolve to continue his training and face the other formidable legends on the galactic stage.

Aura Nova drifted downward with effortless elegance, her descent slow and controlled. The vibrant, multi-colored strands of hair that had been swirling around her moments ago began to fade, returning to their usual serene shade of beautiful blue. The divine aura that had enveloped her physical form dissipated, allowing her body to regain its solid, worldly state. Though her glowing sky-blue eyes lost some of their intense radiance, they remained as mesmerizing as ever, holding a profound depth that balanced immense power with tranquil calm.

The second her feet met the ground, a total transformation occurred. It was as if a switch had been flicked, and she instantly reverted to her normal self. The reality-bending architect of existence was gone, replaced once again by the simple Aura Nova—a girl who cherished books, cats, and peaceful intervals just as much as she did the heat of battle.

Under any other circumstances, she would have collapsed upon landing, her physical form failing under the weight of sheer exhaustion. After hours of relentless combat without a single second of rest, her stamina and mana reserves should have been utterly spent. However, the moment she triggered Root Access Mode, every trace of fatigue had vanished instantly. It was as if time had been reversed for her body, restoring her to a pristine, peak condition.

She stood there now, completely healed. Her mana core was filled to its absolute capacity and her stamina was entirely refreshed, making any need for recovery or medical attention unnecessary. Her body felt exceptionally light, perfectly responsive, and whole.

A faint smile touched her lips, the same expression she typically wore before engaging in a fight. She couldn't deny that she had relished the spar. Well... for the most part. The instances where she had actually been hit were far less pleasant, as she certainly wasn't a masochist.

She turned her gaze toward Kingsley, who was currently stretching with the casual ease of someone waking up from a long, refreshing slumber. She began to walk toward him with light, unhurried steps. As she approached, Kingsley was the first to speak.

"Great spar. Really needed that," he remarked, a comfortable smile playing on his features.

Aura Nova blinked in mild surprise. ’Not sure I’ve ever seen him smile,’ she mused, finding the observation somewhat entertaining.

"Yeah," she answered, mirroring his smile, "loved every moment of it." She took a brief breath before adding, "I have a question."

"Ask away," Kingsley said instantly. His voice was steady and open, showing he had nothing to conceal.

"Is there a reason I couldn’t copy your martial techniques, or any of your skills or abilities, for that matter?" Aura Nova asked directly. Being someone who could usually duplicate any phenomenon she laid eyes on, the inability to mirror his powers had sparked a deep curiosity within her.

Kingsley was quiet for a second. He tilted his head, then gave a slow shake of his head. "I don’t really know," he confessed honestly. Whether it was the protection of the universe itself or some higher law at play, he didn't have a clear answer.

Aura Nova gave a slow nod. "What was that power you were using?" she inquired further. "The one you used to destroy lightning and ice attacks... and then again during your End Of All technique."

In the world of cultivation, asking about the secrets of someone's techniques—especially ones of that magnitude—was usually seen as a breach of etiquette or even a taboo. However, given their acquaintance, she trusted that he would simply decline to answer if it were a private matter.

"It’s called the Concept of Destruction," Kingsley answered. "It allows me to destroy things."

He offered no further explanation.

Aura Nova waited in silence, expecting more detail. When none came, she realized that, to him, that was the full extent of the explanation. Kingsley had no master to guide him, no ancient texts to study, and no sect libraries to browse. He had mastered his path entirely through his own intuition, and there was nothing more to say.

’What exactly is a Concept?’ Aura Nova wondered. It seemed that even Kingsley didn't fully grasp the mechanics of it.

"Last question," she said after a short pause. "When I halted time... how did you move?"

This was the question that truly mattered to her. The purpose of a spar was to identify weaknesses and errors so they could be corrected before a life-or-death struggle.

"I destroyed the time around me using the Concept of Destruction," Kingsley stated tonelessly, his face remaining neutral.

Aura Nova let out a soft sigh. ’It seems we won’t be understanding this Concept thing anytime soon.’

"If you have any questions, you can ask," she offered. "I’ll answer them to the best of my abilities." It felt wrong to be the only one seeking information; it would be both impolite and one-sided.

Kingsley paused to think. Initially, he couldn't think of anything. He didn't feel like he was missing any vital information. But then, two natural inquiries came to mind.

"How did you resist my last technique?" he asked. His tone held no malice, only a sincere desire to understand. If Aura Nova could withstand it, then there was a possibility that Anthony or others might find a way to do the same.

"My Omniedit ability activated on its own and shielded me," Aura Nova explained candidly. "As for how it specifically erased whatever you did to me at that moment... I don’t really know. All I know is that my ability helped me."

Kingsley nodded, satisfied with the response. He saw no reason to push for more. If the technique had a counter, he simply needed to refine it and attempt a different approach next time.

"Final question," he said. "That final state you entered, Root Access Mode. What is it exactly?"

Aura Nova hesitated for a moment before speaking.

"It’s a command skill under my ability," she started. "I don’t really know what it fully entails. I’ve never used it before. I awakened at the age of ten, and there was simply nobody strong enough to force me to use it, so I never bothered."

She went on after a short breath. "I used it against you because you have so many strange abilities. If I didn’t act fast, who knows what ridiculous skill you would’ve pulled out next."

She sighed gently. "In essence, I still don’t really know. This was my first time using it. But while I was in that state..." She paused, choosing her words with care. "I felt omnipotent. As though if I ordered the Acarnis Galaxy to collapse, it would do so, simply because I commanded it."

Kingsley stayed quiet for a moment after her explanation. Then he gave a single, calm nod. His curiosity was sated. With that, the discussion concluded as quietly and naturally as their battle had ended.
