Anthony received a special privilege from The Unbound, allowing him to wake the being and make any request. The Unbound offered an immediate, direct ascension to near his level, but Anthony declined, valuing his journey and experiences over a shortcut. Afterward, Romulus considered gifting Anthony but ultimately sent his gift to Vega instead, burning the system's connection.

Anthony sat thinking about Vega, thinking about the test she had to go through, whether she had passed it, and if she had, what type of Upper Galaxy she was on. He couldn’t help but wonder if she had been captured by people of the Upper Galaxy and turned into a slave.

As his thoughts ran rampant about Vega, the system chimed.

[Beginning elevation of the Host Bloodline Grade from Perfect to Primordial]

The chime snapped Anthony out of his thoughts, and before he could react, the usual pain that came from the rewriting of one’s existence immediately hit him hard. Anthony didn’t hesitate, he immediately activated Thought Conception and reduced his ability to feel pain to the lowest threshold.

Although he could have simply erased the sensation of pain entirely from his body, Anthony still wanted to experience the process. Besides, it was pain he could manage even in his sleep, as it was no different from someone lightly poking at his skin.

With another thought, Anthony immediately activated the Mirror Dimension ability. Reality around him shattered like glass, inverting as it swallowed him whole. Anthony’s figure appeared midair above a plain of green grass that stretched endlessly toward the horizon.

As usual, Anthony’s body began to break apart, veins bursting, organs collapsing and tearing apart in real time as everything that carried the Perfect Grade blood flowing through it was immediately broken down and ripped apart.

Out of nowhere, an unknown green energy surged forth and enveloped Anthony in a cocoon. Within it, Anthony underwent an evolution as his consciousness seemed to flicker into his Abyss.

Anthony’s consciousness appeared in another place. This place was white, endlessly white. Anthony looked around, but that same color covered everything. The next moment, a crack spread across the endless white, then it shattered as though some sort of force had intervened. Anthony’s senses flickered yet again before settling into place, his eyes taking in the sight before him.

Before him were beings, a literally uncountable number of beings. Dragons, Elves, Asuras, Rakshasas, Nagas, Arachne, Stormkin, Kitsune, Tengu, and an uncountable number of other races Anthony wasn’t familiar with. Some he had only just encountered here in the Upper Galaxy.

He saw Dragons soaring through nebulae, Phoenixes bathing within newborn suns, Titans carrying planets upon their shoulders, Elves whose forests stretched across entire worlds. Every race seemed to possess an origin. Every race had a beginning.

Anthony watched quietly, yet no matter how many times he looked, there were no humans. Thousands of scenes passed, yet still no humans. Millions more followed, yet he found not a single one. It was as though humans had never existed within the records of intelligent species, or anything of the sort.

’Where did Humans go?’ Anthony thought to himself after what seemed like hours of endlessly searching through the endless number of intelligent species.

The moment he asked that question, the entire scene before him paused, then blurred out as though it had been an illusion all along. The moment the scene blurred, Anthony received an answer from somewhere unknown as an ancient voice that seemed to predate even the Universe spoke.

The moment those words echoed, Anthony’s eyes narrowed. He couldn’t sense anything or anyone that was replying to him. It was as though he had gone mad and was searching for something that simply wasn’t there.

Unfortunately, he couldn’t use any ability, as he was merely a consciousness at the moment.

The next moment, another scene appeared before him, replacing the one that had displayed a compilation of all highly intelligent species and races.

This time, Anthony found himself overlooking an incomprehensibly vast Universe. Countless races flourished across countless Worlds and Galaxies as they all went about their existence. Every race, species, and civilization seemed to possess its own innate extraordinary gifts that had been bestowed upon them since birth, gifts woven into their very creation.

The Dragons ruled the skies through overwhelming physical supremacy and an unparalleled innate talent for every form of magic. The Phoenixes possessed affinities for all flames. The Giants commanded mountains and earth. The Elves seemed one with nature, as though nature itself blessed them with whatever they lacked. Even the weakest races possessed abilities unique to themselves.

Everything appeared... perfect. No race lacked purpose, no race seemed devoid of identity, as every existence had been born exactly as creation intended.

As Anthony watched while Humanity remained absent from this reality, the ancient mysterious voice came again.

The voice didn’t echo within Anthony’s mind. Instead, it resonated throughout the Universe itself, as though it belonged to an existence that had transcended this level of reality. Anthony didn’t bother searching for the source of the voice and simply listened.

the voice continued calmly, as though it were watching the very same scene alongside Anthony.

Anthony watched as the races prospered. Wars came, species perished, Empires rose and fell, planets were destroyed, Galaxies were annihilated, deaths numbering in the quadrillions with effortless ease.

Yet nothing changed. They all remained exactly as they were. Dragons remained Dragons. Titans remained Titans. Asuras remained Asuras. Nagas remained Nagas.

As Anthony watched the endless wars unfold, the ancient voice asked a question this time.

Anthony remained silent for a moment before giving his answer, his tone flat and indifferent to the scene before him.

"It stagnates."

The moment Anthony gave that answer, the Universe he had been observing seemed to pause, as though time itself had been halted throughout all creation by the ancient voice. Then cracks began to spread across the Universe itself, not merely on a physical level, but upon a conceptual one, as Reality itself began to fracture.

the voice continued.

As the voice finished speaking, the Universe resumed its motion even as the cracks continued to spread. Anthony watched as entire races reached the absolute limit of their existence.

The greatest Dragon to ever live remained a Dragon. The greatest Gorgon to ever exist remained a Gorgon. The strongest Vampire remained a Vampire. No matter how powerful they became, none could surpass the nature they had been born with.

They had reached the end of their paths.
