MIGHT AS WELL BE OP Chapter 1181: Bride Price

"So, talk to me. I know you are here for something else. My control over my Cause and Effect skill has improved, and despite you being slippery through any form of sensory or information-type skills and abilities, I can at least figure this much out," Vega spoke as she finally turned to him.
Both she and Anthony had found the perfect gown for the girls’ night out, and now she finally had time to listen to whatever Anthony had to say, as she didn’t want to give him only half of her attention.
"I wanted to talk to you about the Ascension," Anthony spoke without hesitation.
Vega couldn’t help but sigh as she replied, "Sigh... not you too." She shook her head.
Anthony arched an eyebrow in confusion. "What do you mean?" he asked, curious.
Vega fixed her hair as she spoke. "When I left Military Base Alpha-9 to come train and break through to the Apexus Mana Rank, my parents followed me into the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, where they started talking about Upper Galaxies and all that for almost a whole hour," she stated.
"What did they say?" Anthony asked as he genuinely wanted to know. After all, every piece of information was crucial.
"Nothing important," Vega replied. "Just that whatever Upper Galaxy I land in, they would be there waiting for me," she added with a sigh.
Hearing Vega’s words, Anthony simply laughed, as that was exactly what a man like Klaus would say. The man was simply too overprotective. But then again, the man had nothing but time on his hands. He didn’t have some sort of hidden enemy out there, nor did he have some grand revenge he needed to prepare for or anything of that nature, or at least as far as Anthony knew, so Klaus and Amara had a lot of time to focus on Vega.
’Here I was thinking about her backing, forgetting that her parents are the greatest backing she could ever have,’ Anthony mused to himself.
Her words basically confirmed that Klaus and Amara could travel to various Upper Galaxies. After all, they had said that whichever Upper Galaxy she ended up in, they would be there.
"Well, I’m not in a rush to talk about it. Maybe tomorrow, since you already have a date night with the girls," Anthony spoke, although he had come to Vega about the Upper Galaxies, there was no real need, as she didn’t lack knowledge on the matter.
All that remained was to visit the boys, and together they would have one final discussion. Although Anthony wanted to go meet them tonight, it seemed that plan had failed, as Vega appeared to have an original plan of her own.
And just as he had said, there was no rush, and they could meet up with everyone tomorrow.
’It seems I should just go back home and sleep. It’s been a while,’ Anthony thought to himself, as he didn’t exactly have any plans of his own. For someone who spent most of his time training, fighting, cultivating, or solving one problem after another, the idea of simply resting sounded too tempting.
"You look beautiful," he stated as he stared at her.
"Thank you," she replied with a smile, giving Anthony a three-hundred-and-sixty-degree turn in her dress.
The next moment, Anthony and Vega’s heads snapped upwards as though they were gazing at the sky. However, their senses had already extended beyond the atmosphere, reaching into outer space as they sensed a spacecraft attempting to breach the Planetary Barrier. They both sensed a familiar presence within the spacecraft: Altheria.
"It seems your date partner is already here," Anthony commented.
Vega nodded, her eyes fixed on Altheria’s spacecraft as she communicated with her through telepathy.
"Sigh... I barely got to see you for over an hour after coming out of your seclusion, and now you are running off with Veronica and Altheria," Anthony added.
"You make it sound like I’m going out to find other men or something," Vega joked.
Within a few minutes, Altheria’s aircraft landed within Klaus’ Estate according to Vega’s guidance, descending smoothly from the sky before settling into the designated landing area.
"Want to go meet her?" Vega asked as she prepared to walk towards the door.
Anthony thought for a moment before shaking his head as he replied, "Nah, you both should enjoy each other’s company," his tone calm.
His reason for rejecting was simple; he didn’t know her that well. Even if he went and greeted her, it wouldn’t go beyond normal greetings, so Anthony saw no need to stress himself over it.
"Don’t miss me too much," Vega spoke as she walked towards Anthony and gave him a kiss.
"I hope you do," Anthony replied as he watched her turn her back towards him and walk towards the door. And with that, she vanished from where she stood, as she couldn’t be bothered to walk.
"You can stop hiding now," Anthony spoke the moment Vega left.
The moment his voice echoed, Klaus appeared right by the door, his body leaning against it as he crossed his arms over his chest.
"You and my daughter seem to be making progress," Klaus spoke as he stared at Anthony.
"It’s normal; we are a couple after all," Anthony replied with a light smile.
"Couple?" Klaus scoffed. "You haven’t paid a single bride price. You should hold off on the word ’couple’ for now," he stated.
Anthony didn’t say anything to that. He simply rose to his feet with a smile on his face.
Seeing Anthony not reply, Klaus changed the topic. "It seems your combat prowess has increased to a whole new level. Nice work with the Demon King and the Pigeon God," he stated.
"Thank you," Anthony replied, not surprised Klaus knew. For all he knew, the man could have been watching the battle live.
Klaus stayed silent for a moment before adding, "Although I don’t ever want to see my daughter in danger, I hope you would be able to protect her in the Upper Galaxies," his tone lowering for the slightest moment.
Without waiting for Anthony to reply, he vanished from where he stood.
Anthony stood in silence for a moment, wondering what Klaus meant. After all, the man had just told Vega he would follow her to whatever Upper Galaxy she landed in. After thinking about it for a moment, he chose to forget about it. After all, Klaus could simply be talking about protecting her in general.
Which Anthony was always ready to risk his life for. Klaus didn’t need to advise him on such a matter. Without wasting another second, he vanished.
