Chapter 15: Rampaging Worms
With Shura unleashing its full might.
A direct tear in space was instantly created before them.
The Triangle Ship obstructing their path was obliterated before it could even react.
Thirty colossal Corruptors, their forms flat like crabs, slowly maneuvered into position in the void. Their mandibles, designed to expel potent Corrosive Liquid, had barely opened when the immense black blade wheel sliced through the warship!
Thirty balls of dark green poisonous liquid were instantly discharged.
The gargantuan and exceptionally heavy Epoch King Halberd engaged the Shura Mecha Body.
Even with various limitations…
It did not detract from its utility as an exceptionally effective projectile weapon.
A weapon capable of shattering the Blood Prison Blade, repeatedly slicing through spatial barriers, and withstanding countless assaults unscathed—who would question its robustness and might?
Under Cornelles’ expectant gaze, the whirling Epoch King Halberd moved forward unimpeded; as the Corrosive Poison Liquid encountered the halberd’s tip, it was consumed by a shallow, annihilating spatial rift!
Mere inches wide, it became an insurmountable Chasm for the toxic liquid sludge, as the roaring Big Halberd plunged through the green like a Meteor, impacting the surface of the Star Body Fortress.
Instantly, the castle-like colossal cavity was smashed to smithereens.
A Corruptor, just emerging from within, was caught off guard and impaled directly by the massive halberd blade, pinned firmly to the fortress surface, emitting a tragic shriek.
Any struggle would only cause its already pierced form to be torn further.
“Haha, an interesting little creature.”
Archibald observed this and chuckled softly.
This might be his first smile since taking up his post guarding Planet 131.
“General, shall we engage them?” a subordinate inquired.
“There is no need.”
“Are they not the enemy? What explanation will we provide to Capital Star…” the adjutant hesitated.
“Who says they are not the enemy?” Archibald’s retort left the adjutant speechless.
“In the face of a racial war, all prior grievances can be set aside.”
This somewhat delayed explanation rendered the fleet officers silent.
“But this is only a temporary measure.”
Another unexpected statement caused the officers to look up in confusion; they could not comprehend their superior’s intentions.
Did this imply… a battle would still occur later?
At this moment, the [Catastrophe] had guided the fleet within the Forest Domain fleet’s defensive perimeter; as its arms opened, five purple rhomboid crystal stones detached, rotating rapidly and orbiting its form.
Archibald narrowed his eyes, observing the Watcher cluster ahead and the Forest Domain Fleet flanking them on both sides.
He raised his right hand, then slowly flattened it.
“Move out.”
In his calm voice, the five rhomboid crystal stones suddenly shot forward.
“Battle fortresses in front, Star Annihilation Ships behind, prepare to thrust along the five vortices!”
Archibald’s voice carried a reassuring steadiness that invigorated the Federation warriors, as if they had received a surge of power.
“The Catastrophe Mecha is finally activating its telekinesis mode!”
“Team One acknowledges!”
“Team Two confirms position arrival!”
…
“Team Five acknowledges!”
The fleet instantly divided into five orderly teams, then commenced pursuit of the five rhomboid crystals.
Within the cockpit, Archibald gazed forward, his silver mechanical arms placing a helmet atop his head.
The middle-aged man bearing the insignia of a Major General now had a discernible glint in his eyes for the first time.
He was a Telekinesis Master, and the Mecha [Catastrophe] was, to date, the sole SSS-class telekinetic Mecha!
As his ten fingers moved with astonishing speed, the five rhomboid crystals began to expand and disperse in space, subsequently bursting into five concentrated purple hazes.
Growing to over a hundred meters in diameter, the light clusters rapidly expanded and finally coalesced into sharp purple arrows, piercing forward with lethal precision.
“——Doomsday Raid!”
As the Federation soldiers shouted with fervor, the fleet fiercely clashed against the defenses of the Forest Domain and the Insectoid Clan!
Cornelles watched with a cold demeanor, “Are these humans overly confident?”
A frigid, brutal intent flickered within the colossal warship.
Instantly, the entirety of the Star Body Fortress’s insectoid inhabitants went into a frenzy, worms relentlessly swarmed into the cavity, transforming themselves into conduits for blood energy.
Masses of worms offered themselves in a suicidal surge, causing the remaining three insectoid cavities to enlarge rapidly to twenty meters in height.
From the pitch-black apertures, waves of insects began to pour forth, marking the Star Body Fortress as their true domain.
The insect-infested Star Body Fortress sent shivers down the spine.
Mu Fan cast a cursory glance indifferently, immediately acquiring the three remaining cavities in his sights.
“First, eliminate those troop transfer cavities, then the colossal or excessively powerful individuals. Once their command network is disrupted from the top down, these insects will become a disorganized mob.”
“Pay particular attention to the Bone-faced Insect Beasts, as they possess independent combat awareness.”
Mohandas’ raspy voice resonated in his ear.
Having dedicated his existence to the pursuit of Zeg, this formidable Samurai possessed an intimate understanding of his quarry's nature.
“Understood.”
Mu Fan's gaze shifted away from the fleet spearheaded by the Catastrophe Mecha.
As the bloodlines materialized, the three vast cavities became strikingly evident within his pupils.
Shura thrust out a fist, and a Red Flame, akin to a water ripple, ignited in the void, transforming the entire Mecha into a Meteor hurtling towards the fortress.
It possessed the universe's swiftest velocity!
Even formidable invaders such as the Forest Domain and Zeg couldn't rival its speed.
Five Triangle Ships, advancing in formation, were obliterated in an instant, severed by a direct, bloodline-like strike.
Shura's crimson eyes pierced through the remnants of the starship debris…
In that fleeting moment.
Fleet General Cornelles of the Forest Domain, who had been intently focused on the Mecha [Catastrophe], abruptly shifted his attention.
“Vile swine!”
Despite commanding a fleet numbering a million strong, their deployment was severely restricted by their identity as Servant Army troops and the constraints of the narrow star corridor, allowing fewer than twenty thousand to engage in the present conflict.
They were critically short of high-tier offensive capabilities and agile combat units.
This exasperating engagement filled him with utter disgust.
Then, suddenly.
An intense Spiritual Wave, imbued with an overwhelming sense of malice and ferocity, pulsed from the deepest reaches of the fortress.
“A Totem Envoy!”
Cornelles' eyes gleamed with a sudden surge of excitement.
Buzz…
Concurrently, the three colossal cavities convulsed violently. The very ground rumbled with a writhing motion, abruptly expelling dark shadows.
Thud, thud, thud!
The earth visibly undulated as three gargantuan Bone-faced Insect Beasts, each exceeding one hundred meters in height, lumbered onto the surface of the Star Body Fortress.
Their viscous exoskeletons rapidly began to dry, their eyelids twitching almost imperceptibly…
Three pairs of deep crimson, vertical pupils simultaneously lifted their gaze.
Their heads reared back.
Hiss…
A chorus of fine insectoid chirps resonated from all directions.
The very next instant——
“Roar!”
Deafening sonic waves erupted from the three Bone-faced Insect Beasts, spreading horizontally through the air. Like nuclear detonations unleashed upon the ocean, they bombarded the insectoid swarm below, carving out three immense craters.
Countless creatures were caught in the blast and propelled upwards.
Yet, in the space hugging the ground itself…
The piercing, resonant sound ascended over the fortress's expanse, causing the worms to initially freeze in their tracks…
Before erupting into collective frenzy!
