Mech: Shattering of the Galaxy Chapter 1498: 14: A Real Man
Previously on Mech: Shattering of the Galaxy...
A startling suction force emanated from the colossal vortex that had materialized.
The insectoid creature with a bone-like face, which had been hurtling towards the fleet, rapidly flapped its wings, struggling against the increasing pull.
However, in Mu Fan’s perception, despite the vigorous beating of the bone-faced insect beast’s wings, its progress grew sluggish. In a mere three seconds, it was as if the creature had become ensnared in an inescapable bog, its wing beats slowing to a halt.
Mu Fan distinctly observed the desperate struggle within the scarlet eyes of the bone-faced insect beast.
Even the white bone armor encasing its neck was compelled to thicken.
But then…
All efforts appeared to be in vain.
Because the immense purple vortex expanded steadily, completely engulfing the bone-faced insect beast in under five seconds.
A web of flickering, branch-like purple electricity adhered tenaciously to the bone-faced insect beast.
Then, without a sound…
A section of the bone armor at the bone-faced insect beast’s waist was forcefully ripped away, the exposed flesh instantly disintegrating.
This seemed to signify the vortex's true assault. As the initial piece of bone armor disintegrated, the armor across its entire body began to fissure and was violently torn apart by the relentless vortex!
The bone-faced insect beast attempted a furious howl, yet the resulting shockwave dissipated after barely a hundred meters, twisted and broken apart.
This monstrous entity, terrifyingly ferocious, was thus progressively dismantled within the vortex.
Even the most common crew members could sense the insect beast’s lingering defiance and rage.
But what use was it?
In merely ten seconds…
This gargantuan insect beast, standing over seventy meters tall, was reduced to nothingness.
In the immense expanse of the cosmos, only the quiescently spinning thunder vortex remained, subtly expanding and then subtly vanishing.
Archibald observed the disintegration of the bone-faced insect beast with an impassive gaze, his expression unchanged.
Indeed, it seemed destined to be so.
His mature eyes, tinged with a hint of weariness, shifted towards the distance. Extending his right hand gently, the colossal vortex, spanning kilometers, abruptly froze before silently dissipating to his right.
As if it had never materialized!
[An ultra-wide-range annihilative strike.]
[Possessing destructive and tensile forces comparable to a black hole.]
[Capable of significantly impeding enemy velocities…]
“This truly is a perfect combat mecha for a legion.”
Just two strikes were sufficient to perfectly showcase this mecha’s offensive capabilities, featuring wide-area impact and extensive crowd control.
This mecha embodies the extreme application of force field technology.
All of this transpired within a mere twenty seconds, yet to the multitude of onlookers, it felt like a fleeting dream.
Every officer and soldier in the fleet initially paused, then erupted in thunderous cheers.
They harbored no complex political sentiments; for these soldiers who dedicated their prime years to the frontier, vanquishing these vile and ruthless invaders was their greatest triumph.
They perpetually felt a sense of gratitude for possessing a commander who remained resolute against external pressures!
Having accomplished this, Archibald remained unfazed, his cold gaze sweeping from Shura across the immense planet.
“Do you wish to avenge your humiliation?”
His calm voice resonated within every warship. The officers initially froze, then swiftly flushed with emotion, shouting with all their might: “—We do!”
“Do you see that fortress ahead? Let us obliterate it together, and I assure each of you will be awarded a Thorny Border Guard Medal.”
His words carried an undeniable persuasive force.
Consequently, the moment his words concluded, the fighting spirit of every soldier ignited to its zenith.
The Thorny Border Guard Medal!
For the rank-and-file soldiers, this represented virtually the highest form of honor.
Observing the fleet rapidly reconfigure into an arrowhead formation, Archibald’s lips curved into a silent smile.
[You are the Federation’s finest sons.]
“Once they are dealt with, is it not our turn? Demonstrate your resolve!”
Archibald’s roar directly struck the ears of every soldier as the general finally revealed the demeanor of a seasoned combat commander.
“Let those wretched bugs experience your magnificent strawberries.”
“Hahahaha!”
Amidst the soldiers’ laughter, three hundred battle fortresses formed concentric circles, each decreasing in size from the periphery inwards.
Ultimately, the central battle fortress began to spin at high velocity, propelled by the electromagnetic acceleration from the surrounding vessels.
The colossal ring of ships transformed into an artificial cannon barrel, and the battle fortress became a projectile, launched instantly.
The charged particle cannon adorning its surface blazed a crimson trail.
This battle fortress, resembling a rapidly spinning red top, violently impacted the massive star-body fortress!
With astonishing audacity, Archibald immediately launched a counterattack after a single defensive maneuver.
Throughout this entire exchange, he had paid no heed to Shura’s earlier probes.
The spinning battle fortress accelerated, unleashing a wild barrage of torn red beams in all directions.
The recently deployed forest domain fleet, still in the process of formation, was caught in the red vortex generated by the fortress-like projectile.
In a mere instant, the dense beams transformed into razor-sharp blades that sliced through the hulls of the ships.
A gaping breach was instantly ripped into the fleet’s defensive line in this sector.
Then, with the Great Demon God [Catastrophe] leading the charge, the Border Defense Fleet formed a massive arrowhead, plunging directly towards the star body fortress.
“A true soldier, indeed.”
Mu Fan finally shifted his gaze away from the adversary.
The enemy commander was aware of the Ghost Ghost King’s demise, and likely of Sigler Palm’s death as well. Yet, despite facing Shura, who should have been perceived as an enemy, he resolutely charged at the insect and forest domain invaders.
This single act alone earned Mu Fan’s profound respect.
“You’re not fighting? Don’t tell me you’re betraying your country now,” Black remarked with a hint of regret.
“This nation ultimately requires defenders. Unlike those power-hungry conspirators in high places… I hold no animosity towards these true soldiers.”
A brilliant smile spread across Mu Fan’s face.
Within this vast land, he had always maintained his faith in the existence of goodness, believing that the darker the place becomes, the brighter the light shines forth.
Choosing to place the racial enemies unwaveringly at the forefront, above personal vendettas and national hatred.
The pilot of the [Catastrophe] mecha is truly a man of honor!
Mu Fan’s smile remained, but his gaze turned chilling as he raised the exceedingly heavy Epoch King Halberd before him.
His eyes pierced through countless layers of barriers, fixating directly on the heavily protruding caverns on the surface of the star body fortress.
“Insect clan thoroughfare… we’ll sever your reinforcements first.”
His feet planted firmly, and with a mighty backward lean, Shura launched the Epoch King Halberd with incredible force!
