Chapter 1495: Chapter 11: Master of the Great Demon God, Archibald
“Identification failed, no matching record in the database.”
“Major General Archibald, our database is still using data from six months ago. Should we attempt to contact the Federation Base for an update?”
“No need, we’ll find out by asking directly.”
“General, the other party has already identified themselves on the public channel,” another communicator quickly added.
Oh?
Those indifferent eyes blinked, and the owner of the voice like sandpaper finally appeared on the light screen.
It was a middle-aged man with weathered scars on his face and short hair streaked with gray. The fierce glint in his eyes caused all the crew members gazing upon him to bow their heads solemnly.
His gaze calmly opened the information synced from the ship.
“Shadow Corps… Shura?”
The man called Archibald narrowed his eyes slightly, like a sick tiger.
Just two seconds passed…
“Is it the Mecha that brought down the Ghost King?”
The low voice resonated slowly within the fleet. Yet, in this instant, no one dared to respond, instead, a dozen officers simultaneously lowered their heads.
Consensus!
“Then the four-kill situation is understandable… But now, our primary enemy isn’t him. The fall of the line of defense I protect is the greatest insult.”
The middle-aged Mechanical Master said leisurely, as if the demise of the Ghost King didn’t stir any emotion within him. As if it was none of his concern.
“Ugly bugs and guests from the Otherworld, your escape seems less than smooth, hmm, heh… Since you can’t run, is it time to come back with me?”
The casual tone of an old friend resonated through the public channel. Archibald cared not for language barriers because he had already determined the other party could understand him.
“How does the Federation have so many tricks up its sleeve? Where did this Mecha come from? Could it be from the force guarding Planet 131? But the way he talks, it’s like he’s floating to Sirius,” White Hair scratched his chin, muttering to himself.
“But this guy’s malicious enough, redirecting the animosity towards Mu Fan,” realized White Hair as he quickly activated the team communication, “Mu Fan, the other party’s words are setting a trap for you. We can’t be sure what the Zeg might do in reaction. Be cautious of that fleet.”
Upon hearing the teammate’s reminder, Mu Fan narrowed his eyes slightly, calmly replying, “As long as he knows who the real enemy is, as long as he still has the courage to fight the Zeg, it’s enough.”
Hearing Mu Fan’s response, White Hair was momentarily stunned, then realized, feeling immensely moved. He saw only what was in front of him, not realizing Mu Fan’s insight exceeded his past limitations.
In Mu Fan’s eyes, the race war takes precedence over personal vendettas. If the other side can temporarily set aside personal grudges and choose to act as this world’s champion, then Shura will not list them as an enemy in this battle. As for the future, we’ll deal with sending these bugs back later.
The exchange between White Hair and Mu Fan lasted only a moment, and simultaneously, the communication channel was suddenly filled with violent and chaotic waves. The irritation and anger contained within seemed… even greater than what was directed at Mu Fan before.
“It’s that Mechanical Knight that destroyed our entire Star Body Fortress!”
Cornelles’ fists cracked loudly. During the Glorfen family’s expansion of the corridor for the Insect Clan, the biggest loss was caused by that damned Mechanical Knight. But when a great swarm of Bone-faced Insect Beasts surged through the ripped corridor, that Mechanical Knight was quickly swallowed by the overwhelming number of insects.
It was assumed that the opponent had perished in the insect sea, but now it seemed, not at all! This battle-scorched Mecha surged forth with a fleet. They even intended to capture them back.
“Forest Domain Fleet, adjust formation, attack mode! Request reinforcement from the Totem Envoy!”
A bizarre wave of information soon emanated from the main ship, feeding into the star body fortress that covered most of the Fungus Blanket. “Understood, Master Cornelles!”
Most of the Glorfen family’s warships suddenly retreated. The huge web of firepower previously targeting Shura momentarily halved. Enemies meeting face to face, especially intense was the hatred.
The appearance of the weathered, scorched earth-colored Mecha immediately diverted nearly half of the “Star Body Fortress’s” forces to attack! All the resentful gazes once directed at Shura were now nearly halved by that Mecha!
Mu Fan thoughtfully glanced at the fleet turning into a green torrent. As Archibald evaluated him, Mu Fan simultaneously evaluated them. The height of that Mecha was about thirty meters, equipped with an ancient Knight’s helmet similar to that of White Hair’s [Lightning], but the body was a dozen times heavier.
Five rhombus-shaped crystals, adorning its upper arms, legs, and chest's center, were its most distinctive feature.
Like five gems set against a scorched landscape, their magnificent purple hue stood out vibrantly against the Mecha's body, becoming its most captivating aspect.
Faced with the onslaught of a massive warship fleet, the Mecha remained unperturbed, its stance unwavering.
The only perceptible change was the fleet's abrupt halt, its vessels simultaneously altering their trajectory.
Towering battle fortresses revealed a multitude of gun barrels along their surfaces; over 300cm diameter, supermassive electromagnetic fortress cannons were all oriented forward.
Astonishingly, this formidable fleet was positioning itself for a direct confrontation with the Forest Domain Fleet.
“These natives of this world are excessively greedy, absurdly believing they can engulf us entirely. Truly arrogant.”
Cold fury flickered in Cornelles’ eyes as his fists clenched tightly.
They were merely the Servant Army for these Zeg, with the true main force naturally being the endless Zeg themselves. Constantly provoked yet unable to personally quell the arrogance of their adversaries.
This feeling was almost enough to drive him to madness!
“Death Line Fire, four thousand stacks! Those lumbering fortresses certainly won't escape like these infernal Mechanical Knights. Rip that fleet to shreds for me!”
Fueled by Cornelles’ stifled rage, four thousand separate Triangle Ships spiraled forward in unison, unleashing emerald beams from their bows.
These beams, akin to light from a colossal spotlight, converged upon a single focal point as they refracted.
As the green lasers poured in, that point instantaneously erupted into an energy torrent exceeding ten meters in diameter.
A green pillar, piercing the heavens and imbued with chilling, malevolent energy, immediately streaked towards the fleet.
The beams began to shatter and consume everything within their path.
In the blink of an eye, the energy torrent expanded nearly a hundredfold, surging forward.
The Mecha, adorned with its scorched earth motif, braced itself to confront the incoming tempest.
Archibald’s gaze, which had been locked onto Shura, finally returned to the scene ahead.
His eyes, filled with a subtle nostalgia, reflected the world-ending green torrent before him.
