Jason and his guard easily defeated Whitehead's fighters and assassins, then killed Whitehead himself. As they left the casino, Peter confessed to stealing the Orb and revealed that Ronan the Accuser and Thanos were involved.

The hovercar was halfway to its destination when several combat frigates bearing the Morul insignia streaked past, banking sharply before hovering mid-air to block their path.

Weapon bays slid open, and multi-barreled laser cannons began to rotate slowly, locking onto their target.

The commander’s voice crackled through the ship’s external speakers:

"To those inside the hovercar: your criminal actions are a severe violation of Morul law. You are officially under arrest!"

"Do not attempt pointless resistance, or I will authorize lethal force!"

Peter leaned his head out the window, his face instantly contorting into an expression of pure terror. These combat frigates were outfitted with the newest heavy artillery—the firepower was devastating. If the hovercar took even a single direct hit, they were history.

He turned to ask Jason if he had a plan, but to his shock, Jason was still calmly sitting as if the warships outside were nothing more than cardboard toys.

"What the hell do we do now? This car has zero firepower, we can’t outrun them, and this bulletproof armor is basically tinfoil against those cannons," Peter asked frantically.

"You guys head back first. I’ll be right behind you."

Jason pulled the hovercar door open.

"You... what the hell are you doing?" Peter stared at him, bewildered.

"That’s a moronic question. Did you think I was going to put my hands up and surrender?"

"But they have frigates! Even if you—"

Before Peter could finish his sentence, Jason leaped out of the hovercar.

"What!?"

Stunned, Peter grabbed the handrail and leaned out the door. He watched as Jason was suddenly enveloped in glowing blue energy, hurtling toward the ships at a terrifying speed.

Using himself as a human missile, Jason tore a massive hole straight through the Morul combat ships.

Peter was completely speechless.

Peter had initially hoped to use their earthling connection to build some rapport, but looking at this, they weren’t even the same species. He started wondering if Valkyrie had gotten Jason’s birthplace wrong.

As the destroyed frigates plummeted toward the ground, panic erupted among the citizens below. Soon, the piercing wail of air-raid sirens echoed throughout the entire city.

"Looks like they aren’t planning on letting this go. Fine by me. I could use the exercise," Jason muttered, cracking his knuckles as he looked at the swarm of ships gathering in the distance.

"Don’t just stand there! Get moving!"

"Got it!"

The hovercar doors slammed shut, and it sped away.

Jason hovered in the sky, a lone figure facing an entire army. This time, the Morul military didn’t bother offering a chance to surrender. The ships opened fire from long range, filling the sky with laser fire and missiles.

Jason folded his arms across his chest, moving with a speed that bordered on teleportation. Though the military’s barrage was dense, they couldn’t even graze the hem of his clothes.

"Whatever. Business first. I’m done playing games with you lot."

A moment later, Jason remembered he had to go save Valkyrie. He lost interest. He looked down at the grand city beneath his feet and gave a cruel smirk. "This city is beautiful."

As he spoke, the energy within him surged violently, forming a deep blue shroud around his body.

With Level 8 Energy Absorption, his body could normally hold the equivalent of 1 million tons of TNT. But after absorbing Mind stone, his physical form had evolved again. His upper limit had skyrocketed dozens of times over, approaching a blast yield of 50 million tons of TNT.

If he unleashed his full power now, it would be like detonating a Tsar Bomba.

Vast amounts of energy condensed. The shroud around him shifted from blue to purple, then from purple to a pitch black.

When the energy reached its absolute limit, cracks appeared in the energy field. A second later, a light bright enough to blind any living soul erupted from the fissures, instantly illuminating the world below.

In the heart of the Morul capital, a colossal mushroom cloud erupted. A violent shockwave expanded outward with unstoppable force.

Skyscrapers collapsed like sandcastles. Hundreds of combat frigates were reduced to scrap metal and ash. The crowds on the ground were vaporized instantly by the sheer heat, and thick black smoke swallowed the sky.

The capital of Morul was wiped off the map. The scorched earth beneath was laid bare.

From Jason’s perspective high above, the ground below was nothing but charred, black soil.

"Oh... my... God."

On the outskirts of the city, the hovercar prepared to land. Peter stared out the window, paralyzed by the sight.

It turned out Valkyrie wasn’t lying. This man really had the power to destroy worlds. And more importantly, just like Ronan, he had the ambition to do it.

Just because of a little unpleasantness at a casino, he had turned the Imperial Fleet and tens of millions of civilians into ash. This man was a monster.

At this moment, any thought Peter had of "bonding" with Jason vanished. He wanted to slap himself for ever getting involved with the Power Stone. If he hadn’t stolen the Orb, he wouldn’t have provoked Ronan. He wouldn’t have met Gamora or Valkyrie, and he wouldn’t be standing here next to this demon.

Peter was in a state of pure panic. He knew that if he didn’t leave now, he was tied to this man forever. With Jason’s mercurial personality, he wouldn’t let him leave alive, and this kind of casual genocide would happen again and again.

His future was clear: either be executed for refusing orders, or sell his soul to the devil, gain power, and become a mass murderer alongside him. Neither appealed to him. Peter liked music, he liked freedom, he liked cruising through space... hitting on girls, acting like a hero, robbing the rich—that was the life he dreamed of.

"What are you sitting there for? Get out."

Peter snapped out of it, looking up blankly at Jason’s guards.

"Oh... right. Coming."

He forced a weak smile and stepped out of the hovercar.

"Uh, my ship is over here..."

Peter pointed toward the Milano, pretending everything was normal as he walked toward it at a steady pace.

The guards didn’t notice anything suspicious, so they didn’t stop him. Peter successfully boarded the ship.

Just then, a medium-sized ship about the size of a commander’s vessel landed right next to the Milano. A group of wild-looking, armed warriors stepped off, led by a blue-skinned man.

"Peter! Peter! You son of a bitch, get out here right now!"

Peter’s heart sank into his stomach.

"Dammit, Yondu! He had to show up right now of all times."

Peter was torn. If he shouted a warning, the guards would realize he was trying to run. But if he did nothing, Yondu and the Ravagers were walking straight into a meat grinder.

"Yondu, I’m sorry!"

The Milano’s engines roared to life, a burst of flame erupting from the rear.

Seeing Peter preparing to flee, Yondu began cursing at the top of his lungs. "Hey! Where do you think you’re going, kid? What about our deal? The Orb?"

The guards finally reacted. That was the one thing Jason had explicitly demanded they find. How did these scavengers know about it?

"You! Stop right there! What did you just say?"

The guards moved toward the Ravagers with their weapons drawn.

Yondu saw them and assumed Peter had already found another buyer. He roared, "Peter sold the Orb to you, didn’t he? How much did he get? He stole that from me—I’m the real seller!"

The guards were baffled.

The guards were furious. They raised their weapons and screamed, "Peter, get your ass down here!"

"I’m gone, suckers!"

Peter slammed the throttle forward, and the Milano shot into the sky.

"Shit, he’s escaping!"

The guards opened fire with their laser rifles, aiming for the ship. Though Peter was often broke, he had dumped every cent he ever made into upgrading the Milano. Its performance was top-tier. The guards’ handheld lasers couldn’t even scratch the hull. In the blink of an eye, the Milano cleared the landing zone and vanished into the horizon.

Seeing the guards attacking Peter, Yondu was confused. Wasn’t the deal done? Or was Peter trying to play both sides to double his money?

"Hey! What the hell is going on? Who has the Orb right now?" Yondu shouted.

With Peter slipping through their fingers, the guards were terrified of Jason’s punishment. Seeing Yondu still demanding answers, an idea came into their mind.

"These Ravagers are with the kid! Grab them all!"

If they couldn’t catch the small fry, catching the big one might save their skins.

Yondu was a mercenary; he wasn’t about to go quietly. Seeing them move in, he led his men in a counterattack. A chaotic firefight broke out in the landing zone.

"Argh!"

During the skirmish, Yondu’s arm was grazed by a laser. His men immediately shoved him behind cover.

"Get out of my way!"

The deal was dead, Peter was gone, and Yondu was livid. He shoved his men aside and swept back his long coat. Tucked into his belt was a uniquely shaped metal arrow.

Yondu blew a sharp whistle, and the metal arrow shot from his belt, hovering in the air. This was the Yaka Arrow, forged from Yaka metal—a substance highly sensitive to sound frequencies. With his whistles, he could control its flight path with perfect precision. It was indestructible, with a hardness that rivaled Vibranium.

Yondu’s whistling intensified, and the Yaka Arrow became a blur of death, streaking toward the guards.

Screams filled the air as the Yaka Arrow punched through the guards’ chests as easily as if they were made of paper. The arrow was so fast that in less than thirty seconds, hundreds of guards lay dead. The survivors scrambled back into their ships, terrified to show their faces.

But just as Yondu thought he had won, he realized the Yaka Arrow had stopped responding. No matter how he whistled, the arrow wouldn’t move.

"Boss!"

"What now?"

"Look!"

His men pointed outside the cover, their faces pale.

Yondu peeked out. Jason had appeared in the center of the landing zone at some unknown moment, and he was holding the Yaka Arrow in his bare hand.

Yondu was shocked. He whistled frantically:

But no matter what he did, the Yaka Arrow remained motionless, locked firmly in Jason’s grip.

"Metal controlled by sound... Hmph. Interesting."

Despite Yondu having just slaughtered a hundred of his men, Jason’s expression didn’t flicker. He just examined the Yaka Arrow with curiosity.

With Jason there, the guards found their courage. They poured out of the ships, snarling as they rushed toward the Ravagers. They had been humiliated; now it was time for payback.

"Remember, I want them alive," Jason said coldly.

The guards were annoyed, but they swapped their live ammo for electromagnetic rounds. It wasn’t fatal, but it was excruciating—the perfect weapon for non-lethal capture.

The guards swarmed the Ravagers. Without the Yaka Arrow, the Ravagers were just a bunch of thugs. They were quickly overpowered and pinned down.

"Dammit, Yondu, I’m coming for you!"

Suddenly, the Milano dived from the clouds. Peter opened up with his laser cannons and missiles, wiping out the guards surrounding the Ravagers.

Yondu looked up, and a rare smile spread across his face despite the desperation of the situation.

"Hmph."

Jason scoffed and appeared directly in front of the Milano.

Peter’s face was twisted in terror, but a second later, he roared with forced courage:

"You mass-murdering fucker! Go to hell!!!"

The heavy laser cannons fired point-blank at Jason.

"Boring."

Jason reached out his right hand and lightly tapped the hull of the ship.

The Milano instantly disintegrated into scrap metal.

Peter sat in his cockpit seat, still clutching the snapped control sticks. He blinked his eyes open, stunned to find he was still alive. A sphere of pale blue energy had enveloped him, protecting him from the blast.
