Marvel: The Villain Chapter 364 Real Fight
Previously on Marvel: The Villain...
The sky over Washington D.C. was cloudless, but the tranquility was shattered. Residents on weekend picnics watched in stunned silence as three gargantuan Helicarriers rose slowly from the Potomac. Thousands of phones were out, capturing the impossible sight.
Suddenly, the carriers’ hangar doors hissed open. Hundreds of Quinjets surged onto the decks and took flight, their engines screaming as they accelerated into a dense formation. The internet exploded with the footage. "Is this it? Is the war starting?" people cried out as they watched the horizon darken with the shadow of SHIELD’s—no, Hydra’s—might.
Hydra pilots flipped their radar toggles. Immediately, dozens of fast-moving blips appeared.
"Targets locked. It’s Stark," A pilot reported.
A swarm of Iron Man suits streaked toward them. The Quinjets’ underbelly bays slid open.
Air-to-air missiles erupted, trailing long white ribbons of smoke as they homed in on the metallic intruders.
Inside his helmet, Tony didn’t blink. "Pull up!" He commanded.
Dozens of suits banked hard, pulling a high-G climb into the stratosphere. Hundreds of missiles followed them like hungry hounds.
"Flares!" Tony shouted.
The Mark suits’ weapon pods clicked open, raining down thousands of high-heat magnesium flares. Most of the missiles, confused by the sudden bloom of heat, veered off to chase the decoys. But nearly a hundred smart-missiles remained locked.
"Shoot them down!"
The HUDs in the suits calculated intercept trajectories. The Iron Legion raised their arms, firing precision electromagnetic pulses and repulsor bursts, detonating the remaining missiles in mid-air.
Tony let out a breath. he thought grimly.
Tony patched into Steve’s comms. "Cap, I’ve drawn out the interceptors. It’s showtime. I’ll keep the sky busy so they stay off your back."
Standing on the roof of the Triskelion, Steve looked up at the massive hulls above him. "Thanks, Tony. Watch yourself."
Thrusters in his boots flared, launching him like a blue-and-white streak toward the deck of the nearest Helicarrier.
Steve landed hard on the carrier deck. Most Hydra personnel had already scrambled to the jets, leaving only a skeleton security force. Seeing the blue-and-white armor, the guards screamed into their radios: "Rogers is on the deck! Target is on Carrier One!"
Inside the Triskelion, Rumlow heard the report. "Get a bird in the air!" He barked to his team. He knew that if Steve went Hulk now, the carrier would be scrap before it hit its target altitude.
Hydra soldiers opened fire. Bullets pinged harmlessly off Steve’s nano-suit, not even scratching the paint. Steve thought.
Steve didn’t charge blindly. He used the targeting system, sweeping the deck from left to right.
The shoulder pods on the suit deployed.
Precision armor-piercing rounds fired. In seconds, every hostile on the deck was neutralized with terrifying efficiency.
Steve took a deep breath. It was time. He thought of Sharon’s face before her death. The rage bubbled up. His muscles expanded, his height surged past two meters, and the nano-suit expanded with him, weaving around the massive frame of the Hulk.
He was now a Nano-Armored Hulk. A perfect fusion of raw power and Stark technology.
A STRIKE helicopter hovered above. The door slid open, and Rumlow leveled a massive, custom-built sniper rifle.
"Nano-tech is just paper against Vibranium," Rumlow said.
He fired the Vibranium-tipped suppressant dart.
Steve—in Hulk form—spun around with a speed that defied physics and caught the dart mid-air.
Rumlow froze. "What the...?"
He didn’t realize that while the Hulk provided the reflexes, the nano-suit’s sensors had predicted the trajectory before the trigger was even pulled.
Steve crushed the dart and opened his wrist-mounted weapon pod.
A micro-missile streaked toward the chopper. Rumlow dived out just as the helicopter turned into a fireball. He hit the deck, rolling to a stop, but the sound of heavy, rhythmic thuds filled his ears.
Steve was charging.
Rumlow pulled his sidearm, firing desperately. The bullets bounced off the nano-mesh. Steve reached down and snatched Rumlow up by the collar like a ragdoll.
"Don’t worry," The armored giant growled, his voice a deep, metallic rumble. "I’m not killing you. We need you to talk."
Steve used the suit to bind Rumlow’s legs with high-tensile carbon fiber wire and tossed him off the carrier. Below was the river; the fall would be painful, but not fatal. Rumlow was out of the fight.
Steve smashed through the bridge window, raining glass down on the terrified Hydra techs. He opened fire with the suit’s micro-missiles, targeting the red zones Tony had marked in his HUD.
One carrier... disabled.
He leaped to the second, then the third. He used his fists to pummel the navigational computers into scrap metal. It felt addictive—the raw destruction.
But then, a realization hit. "Tony! I’ve trashed the bridges, but the ships are still climbing! They’re being remote-controlled from the ground, and the engines are too heavily armored!"
Ground forces had fired thousands of missiles, but the carriers’ 50mm point-defense cannons were intercepting everything. The ships reached 3,000 meters.
"Link established with the satellite!" A Hydra tech yelled from the Triskelion’s sub-basement.
"Activate the algorithm! Execute the whitelist!"
The Insight system began its grim work. In seconds, it scanned millions of lives. In Stark Tower, the President was locked. In a kitchen in New York, Bruce Banner was locked. In the sky, Tony Stark was locked.
Only the Joker whitelist stayed safe.
"Target saturation reached! One million targets locked!"
"Ready to fire in ten... nine..."
"Tony! We have less than ten seconds!" Steve roared, hammering at the engine block.
"Cap!" Tony’s voice crackled through. "Look at the horizon."
Steve turned. From the distance, a dark cloud approached. Not jets. Not birds.
The Iron Legion.
"This is my entire inventory," Tony said, his voice finally calm. "One thousand Guardian suits. I told you I needed five minutes. I was just waiting for the cavalry to arrive. Cap... jump ship."
The 1,000 suits formed a perfect ring around the three Helicarriers.
"Fire," Tony commanded.
BOOM-BOOM-BOOM!
Tens of thousands of micro-missiles launched simultaneously, blotting out the sun. The carriers’ point-defense cannons tried to keep up, filling the sky with flak and fire, but the volume of fire was simply too great.
The first volley tore through the hulls. The second shattered the engines. The third turned the Helicarriers into falling scrap. For fifteen minutes, the sky over D.C. was filled with the thunder of Stark’s vengeance, until the three behemoths were nothing but falling embers plunging into the Potomac.
Steve stood on the riverbank, back in human form, watching the last of the debris hit the water. Next to him, a bound and gagged Rumlow lay in the mud. The man had actually managed to swim to shore with bound legs—a testament to his stubbornness.
In the sky, the Iron Legion was assisting the U.S. Air Force in mopping up the remaining Quinjets. The Marines were finally breaching the Triskelion doors.
Project Insight was dead. Hydra was exposed. And as the smoke cleared, Steve Rogers looked at the shattered remains of the world he thought he knew, knowing that the real fight was only just beginning.
