Marvel: The Villain Chapter 309 Replay

Upon hearing this, A-Train couldn't help but offer a round of applause. "Impressive," he declared. "I'm genuinely surprised SHIELD could go this far. But don't forget – the Joker Organization never fights alone."
Steve responded with unwavering conviction, "Jarvis has been meticulously monitoring the battlefield. Within a thousand-meter radius, there isn't a single soul besides us."
"Perhaps you are correct," A-Train countered, "But do not forget, not all members of the Joker Organization are human."
Steve, shaking his head in profound disappointment, unleashed his full offensive capabilities. "Cease your attempts to stall. Your life concludes here."
The moment the words left his lips, the weapon bays of the Iron Armor system simultaneously opened fire. Hundreds of specialized micro-missiles streaked through the air, aimed at precise locations within the designated trap zone. It was evident that Steve's strategy was to saturate the entire area with ordnance, leaving absolutely no room for escape or evasion.
"Stalling?"
Despite the imminent crisis, A-Train remained utterly unfazed. He gazed directly at the approaching missiles and let out a chuckle. "I don't need to!"
BOOM!
The missiles impacted their targets and detonated, instantly transforming the trap zone into a raging inferno. Four containment barriers held the boiling flames tightly within their confines, forcing the inferno to surge violently upward along the inner walls of the barrier.
Steve swiftly maneuvered away. The fire erupted from the top of the barrier like a catastrophic volcanic eruption, raining down as a fiery cascade that ignited all the surrounding trees. Observing the scene from the outside, the once blue-purple cube had become a blazing crimson monolith, glowing intensely.
If Jason had been present, the striking familiarity of this spectacle might have stirred dormant memories within him.
"Stark's weaponry is truly remarkable..." Steve mused, gazing at the destructive display he had orchestrated. A sense of grudging admiration mixed with his surprise. The Stark lineage consistently produced unparalleled geniuses; from Howard to Tony, they were undeniably masters of weaponry whose innovations defined their eras.
"The temperature of these flames is sufficient to melt a tank into liquid iron. While A-Train possesses superpowers, he is still, fundamentally, flesh and blood. There should scarcely be any remains left by now."
Steve hovered in the mid-air, observing as the intense flames within the barrier began to subside. He then retracted his faceplate and slowly descended to the scorched earth below.
Fire and water, truly merciless elements. What had been a vibrant forest moments before was now naught but desolate, blackened land. Countless plants and animals had been consumed by the inferno, and the ambient air temperature remained alarmingly elevated.
As Steve commenced his search, hoping to find even a minuscule fragment of bone, his foot struck something unexpected. He discovered a pitch-black, hemispherical object.
Drawing closer for a better inspection, Steve observed the suspicious sphere, approximately ten meters in diameter. Its surface was completely obscured by a thick layer of charred soot, rendering any details invisible. Steve tentatively raised his hand, preparing to unleash a repulsor ray blast to ascertain its properties.
BANG!
After a single blast, the object remained completely unscathed.
CRACK!
Just as Steve was preparing to fire a second shot, a sharp, distinct sound met his ears. It was splintering, cracking open!
To ensure his safety, he powered up his thrusters, hovering in the air with his repulsors primed. The cracking sound intensified, and numerous fissures began to spiderweb across the sphere's surface. With a resounding crash, the structure disintegrated, revealing two figures concealed within.
Steve's pupils widened in shock as he gasped, his voice laced with disbelief, "You..."
"I did warn you," A-Train emerged, completely unharmed. He casually brushed a speck of dust from his shoulder and turned his head. "Did I not, Alex?"
Aware that A-Train intended to broadcast the confrontation live, Alex had obviously not wanted to miss the spectacle. However, he harbored a concern that if he remained in plain sight, A-Train might hesitate to unleash his full power. Consequently, Alex had initially decomposed his body into a mass of biomass, concealing himself within the dense bushes like a cluster of small snakes, leaving only a pair of eyes to observe the unfolding events.
He had not anticipated being caught within Steve's fiery trap alongside A-Train. Fortunately, this particular trap had been engineered with A-Train's exceptional speed as its primary target. For Alex, whose regenerative capabilities allowed him to reconstitute from a single cell, such an assault posed no significant threat. A-Train had discovered him while searching for an viable escape route, leading directly to this moment. As for the charred object, it was merely a protective shell that Alex had ingeniously fashioned from his own biological matter.
"Hey Steve, long time no see!" Alex stated, fully reverting to his human form and offering a casual wave.
"..." Steve slid his faceplate open, his gaze fixed upon Alex with a cold, unyielding expression.
The sight of his adversary ignited a furious rage within him, yet Steve consciously imposed restraint upon himself. Impulsivity, he knew, was a dangerous demon; it offered no true solutions and instead paved the way for fatal vulnerabilities.
Perceiving Steve's unnerving silence, Alex decided to deploy his ultimate gambit.
"I recall the anniversary of Sharon and Peggy's passing was merely a few days ago. Did you have the opportunity to visit their graves? Or, perhaps you could enlighten me on the cemetery's location, and I shall personally extend my respects."
THUD.
The words struck Steve like a physical blow, causing his lips to tremble and his eyes to redden, a searing rage flooding his mind. The scene he had desperately tried to suppress for over a year replayed involuntarily before his eyes.
Noticing Steve clenching his fists, Alex smirked, his intention clearly to provoke and break Steve once more. The last encounter had not only left Steve paralyzed but had also shattered his will to persist.
As per the reports, Steve had spent the entire past year in a stupor, drowning his sorrows in alcohol. Whether he had recovered or acquired the custom armor from Stark was inconsequential to Alex.
How many times must a person be utterly defeated before they surrender all hope and opt for suicide? Alex was curious to find the answer, and that's why, this time too, he had no intention of ending Steve's life. Instead, he planned to kill Natasha right before Steve's eyes, plunging him back into the abyss of guilt and despair.
Alex: "Do me a favor."
A-Train: "You saved my life. You can ask for anything."
Alex: "Help me capture that woman. I want her to witness this spectacle."
A-Train: "Consider it done, but I'm unable to breach the barrier."
"I will assist you." Alex placed a hand on his shoulder, and tendrils of biomass extended from his body, enveloping A-Train from head to toe, transforming him into a mummy-like figure.
Alex: "With this protection, the lightning will not harm you. Proceed."
A-Train gave an affirming thumbs-up.
Alex turned his gaze back to Steve. "I know you wish to save her, so let's engage in a game. Just like before: if you emerge victorious, I will release her. However, should you falter..."
"You damned son of a bitch! Not this time!" Steve snapped back to the present, unleashing two repulsor blasts at full power.
WHOOSH!In a mere instant, A-Train disappeared.
Steve's panic surged as he turned, accelerating towards the exit. "Damn it!"
In that split second, he made the choice to abandon confronting Alex and rescue Natasha. While avenging himself upon Alex was his paramount desire, preserving a life held greater significance than seeking retribution for the departed.
"Hey! Do you truly possess the capacity to concern yourself with another's well-being?"
Steve's head whipped around to face a pair of steel claws mere inches away. He reacted swiftly, raising his arm to block with his shield.
CLANG!The claws collided forcefully with the shield, showering sparks in all directions.
