David and John successfully incapacitated the Hulk using their combined powers. Meanwhile, Alex pursued Natasha into the woods, while A-Train confronted her separately. A-Train, enraged by what he perceived as racial contempt from Natasha, prepared to attack her.

With his bare chest revealed, A-Train’s dark, hardened muscles gleamed beneath the dappled sunlight filtering through the forest canopy. He presented a formidable silhouette—a sight that, under different circumstances, might have impressed Natasha. However, at this moment, sheer terror gripped her as she recoiled. Her voice, shaky and strained, pleaded,

"Stop! Your comrades are succumbing to their wounds, bleeding out, and you’re engaged in this… Are you not concerned about their fury? Or the repercussions once this ordeal concludes?"

"Hmph!" A-Train’s advance remained undeterred, a menacing grin plastered across his features. "Do not concern yourself; they will comprehend. Furthermore… I am exceedingly swift."

With that declaration, he surged forward, his hand aiming to grasp Natasha’s collar.

Natasha’s eyes widened, reflecting complete despair. In this dire moment, the woman renowned for her sharp intellect and unwavering resolve found herself utterly cornered.

Abruptly, A-Train’s predatory expression faltered. After a fractional pause, barely a hundredth of a second, he zipped backward, traversing numerous meters with a speed imperceptible to the human eye.

Natasha blinked, bewildered. She had braced for the inevitable, ready to surrender. The notion of A-Train retreating at the crucial juncture had never crossed her mind. While this turn of events was the most favorable outcome, the perplexing question of 'why' lingered.

A mere heartbeat later, the reason materialized.

A circular shield, rotating with deadly intensity, whizzed through the precise location A-Train had occupied moments before. Had he not reacted, decapitation would have been his fate.

The adamantine shield bisected a colossal tree with a single stroke, continuing its trajectory to embed itself deeply into the trunk of another tree further afield.

A wave of relief washed over Natasha as she swiftly turned her gaze skyward.

A suit of unfamiliar, gleaming armor hovered above. Its polished, metallic exterior, emblazoned with a vibrant red-and-blue livery, featured a prominent American flag emblem across the chest plate.

"Steve?"

Natasha exclaimed, her voice laced with disbelief. Tears welled in her eyes. The helmet's faceplate retracted upwards, revealing the visage of Steve Rogers. However, he appeared significantly aged since their last encounter, his face etched with the passage of time and adorned with a full beard.

Regardless of the depth of his suffering or his reluctance to re-enter the world, he had arrived. This was Captain America—a man capable of being felled, but never truly defeated.

Steve offered a small, apologetic gesture. "My apologies for the delay. Stark's advanced technology truly baffles me. I’ve spent days without sleep attempting to master this flight apparatus."

Natasha blinked away her tears, a radiant smile spreading across her face. "You're not late! Not late at all!"

Following the initial exchange, Steve’s demeanor shifted, becoming resolute. "Natasha, you need to leave. This individual is my responsibility."

Natasha’s composure returned instantly. She cast a final, apprehensive glance at A-Train before turning and accelerating away in the opposite direction. The brief confrontation had starkly illustrated the immense chasm between her capabilities and A-Train's; remaining would only burden Steve. Her sole objective now was to escape, swiftly and decisively.

"Do not move!"

Steve commanded, directing both armored arms towards A-Train. All offensive systems on the suit activated, prepared for engagement.

"Whoa, take it easy!" A-Train humorously raised his hands in mock surrender, then gestured towards his discarded attire on the ground. "I merely intended to put my shirt back on."

"Does a man of your nature even require attire?" Steve inquired, his gaze fixed intently on A-Train, attempting to anticipate his next action.

"What is that supposed to imply?" A-Train inquired, slowly retrieving his shirt.

"Hmph. Your transgressions are so egregious, speaking of them fills me with shame," Steve stated, his revulsion palpable.

"Between a man and a woman, it is merely natural. What is so depraved about it?" A-Train brushed the dust from his shirt and donned it. "Even within your own religious doctrines, there exists the narrative of Adam and Eve taking the forbidden fruit. My actions are no different from Adam's."

Steve’s expression grew even more disgusted. "Hearing your words, I now truly grasp the profound corruption within the Joker organization."

"Is that so?" A-Train responded with an indifferent shrug. "You are quite the model citizen, Cap. As I was pulling my shirt on, you maintained your guard, refraining from a surprise attack."

Steve clarified, "Do not misunderstand me. I recognize the futility of a sneak attack against you. Had it been viable, you would already be defeated."

A-Train’s eyes widened in understanding. "I underestimated you. So, if a surprise assault is ineffective, what makes you believe you stand a chance in a direct confrontation?"

Steve deactivated his weapon pods. His left hand formed into a fist, and a crimson light illuminated his forearm. Instantly, the shield lodged in the tree was ensnared by a specialized magnetic tether, yanking it free and sending it soaring through the air.

The shield seamlessly attached to the armor’s left arm. "A direct contribution from Stark. It is attuned solely to the metal composition of the shield. Quite efficient, wouldn't you agree?"

A-Train scoffed, remaining silent.

Steve continued, "I'm aware of your incredible speed. On the ground, I'd stand no chance. However, this suit allows me to engage from the sky. And you..."

"Hahaha!" A-Train suddenly erupted into laughter. "I never imagined Captain America would be this gullible."

"It's true, fighting in the air is my disadvantage," A-Train conceded. "But if you wish to defeat me, you must first land a hit. Your weapons, moving at a snail's pace, even with a hundredfold increase, would never be quick enough to reach me."

Steve nodded in agreement. "That is accurate. But what if I were to confine you to a specific zone?"

A-Train's expression soured. "What do you propose?"

A calculated glint of triumph appeared on Steve's face. "Timing it now... Natasha should be in the clear."

A-Train's heart pounded. He instantly vanished, sprinting towards the base of the mountain.

Abruptly, a surge of blue light blazed forth. A hundred-meter-tall blue barrier shot up from the earth. A-Train slammed on the brakes, his eyes widening in astonishment.

He realized the barrier pulsed with ultra-high-voltage electricity. Attempting to break through at his top speed would turn him into cinders in an instant. He spun around, only to see three more barriers ascending. Together, they formed a flawless, unbroken rectangular enclosure.

Well, not entirely unbroken—the top remained exposed. But the sheer height reached hundreds of meters. Even with his speed, A-Train couldn't possibly leap that high.

Hovering above the opening, Steve gazed down from his aerial position. "Do you still possess that same confidence?"

Beads of sweat formed on A-Train's forehead. He looked upward, his jaw set. "When did you manage to set this up?"

"Right when your brain was occupied elsewhere and you were focused on Natasha," Steve retorted.

"I had been lying in wait nearby for a considerable duration. To prevent your detection, I placed the traps a hundred meters away. I harbored concerns it might not succeed, but fortune favored me. I hadn't anticipated your thoughts being even more simplistic than my own."

"S.H.I.E.L.D. is well aware of your abilities. Did you truly believe we wouldn't devise a countermeasure?"
