Yang Ji continued his isolated study of Space and the Void, tearing and mending Space while exploring Void Cracks. He discovered that his room was isolated from the outside by both Space and the Void, and that the Heavenly Demon Queen had likely orchestrated this. Through his intense focus, he began to question his understanding of the Dao of Space, perceiving a "True Dao of Space" beyond his current path. His Dao Heart wavered until the Heavenly Demon Queen's voice offered a cryptic warning. He then discovered that the Void itself seemed to be in motion, a phenomenon not even his parents had mentioned, which further challenged his foundational knowledge but also confirmed that Space and the Void are separate entities.

Meanwhile, within her chambers, Yang Xu's voice echoed in a furious tirade against the Heavenly Demon Queen. "How much longer must my Brother remain in seclusion?! A full month has already elapsed!!!"

"This is a matter pertaining to his own enlightenment. To comprehend such profound truths within the span of a single year is worthy of immense commendation. And yet, you believe yourself capable of admonishing me?" the Heavenly Demon Queen retorted with a scoff.

Throughout this past month, someone had to shoulder the responsibility of administering punishments. Little need be said of Lei Ao, who remained in a coma even after a month had passed. His condition, naturally, had caused significant turmoil within Yang Kai’s office. However, with Yang Ji having immediately entered secluded cultivation, no punishments had been meted out—despite the growing pressure emanating from Red Clouds Cave Heaven.

Nevertheless, existing punishments still required attention. Consequently, the task of escorting fellow disciples to and from their educational pursuits fell, eventually, to Yang Xu.

After all, this was a penalty intended for the Twins. Even if the Heavenly Demon Queen offered them protection, would Li Wu Yi not eventually discern the truth? Thus, it was inevitable that Yang Xu would ultimately have to bear the burden for both of them.

...

During that intervening month, Yang Xu experienced a moment of profound alarm when she suddenly perceived her Brother’s Dao Heart beginning to waver. It could be said that her Daos were intrinsically linked to his, and his Daos, hers. Though not a perfect reciprocity, their unspoken connection allowed her to sense that her Brother was on the verge of relinquishing his mastery over the Dao of Space.

Naturally, panic seized her. Her immediate impulse was to rush to his side and confront him directly. In fact, she was on the brink of shouting into his consciousness through their unique link. However, the Heavenly Demon Queen intervened, halting her. "Desist. Do you intend to negate all his endeavors? Your interference will only serve to distract him further from his objectives. You gave your solemn word, pledging your Dao Heart as collateral, that he would remain undisturbed throughout this period."

"You assured me he would be fine, that this process would take some time. Yet, several days have passed, and his Dao Heart is already faltering! What if it collapses!?" Yang Xu's anger flared, reaching a point where she considered banishing the Heavenly Demon Queen to the Void and sealing her away eternally.

"You proclaimed your faith in him. Where, I inquire, has that conviction vanished to?" the Heavenly Demon Queen taunted.

However, Yang Xu refused to yield. She raised her hand, prepared to lash out at the Heavenly Demon Queen. Though she knew the futility of such an action, she desperately needed an outlet for her pent-up rage.

Then, abruptly, "Eh?"

"His Dao Heart has stabilized?" Yang Xu's eyes widened as she sensed not only that his Dao Heart had regained its stability but that their collective mastery over the Dao of Space had seen a slight strengthening.

"What transpired?" Yang Xu wondered, and the Heavenly Demon Queen, in a rare display, offered an explanation. Perhaps sensing the continued pressure from Yang Xu would prove troublesome, she elaborated, "Your brother has successfully overcome the initial threshold. Although it represents merely one of many trials ahead, he has, nonetheless, surpassed the first hurdle."

"Wait. Does that mean this will occur again!?"

"Such an occurrence may potentially transpire once more, but it should not befall him during his current period of seclusion," the Heavenly Demon Queen stated, reiterating her point. "As for yourself, you would be wise to honor your pledge, lest you inflict harm upon him rather than providing assistance."

...

Subsequently, additional weeks elapsed, culminating in a full month's passage, after which their punishment as 'traveling coaches' finally concluded.

It was then that Yang Xu once again confronted the Heavenly Demon Queen. She profoundly regretted her promise to refrain from contacting her Brother. The past month had been an arduous trial for her—truly arduous. It was important to note that since their birth, the Twins had never been separated. While physical proximity might have been absent at times, their Souls had never endured such a complete disconnection, rendering communication impossible.

For Yang Xu, this entire month had been an experience of profound discomfort. She struggled to comprehend how others navigated the loneliness of existence, devoid of a constant, supportive presence. Where was their unshakeable anchor?

This feeling transcended the loss of a powerful paternal figure or an unparalleled master. It was akin to experiencing the severance of a vital part of oneself. If Yang Xu were to articulate it, it would be more devastating than losing one's soulmate.

Such was the depth of their connection, and the immense difficulty in separating themselves.

She even felt a sense of gratitude for this profound bond with her Brother, thankful that throughout her entire life, he had consistently been her steadfast support.

Her greatest desire was to converse with him immediately, to hear his voice once more and to bask in his comforting presence. Physical proximity was not essential; merely re-establishing the familiar connection they once shared, allowing her to speak and share anything with him, at any moment, was enough.

However, the Heavenly Demon Queen was cunning. With her extensive experience, how could she not realize that keeping such a distance between two individuals, instinctively linked since birth, would provoke a backlash?

So, she devised a method to compel Yang Xu into making an oath upon her Dao Heart, swearing to the heavens that she would cease contact with Yang Ji during this period.

Still, their connection was not entirely severed. Although communication was forbidden, their cultivation remained intertwined, allowing Yang Xu to assist him when she had the capacity. Thus, whenever Yang Ji achieved a minor breakthrough or gained some enlightenment, Yang Xu would instantly perceive it.

Unfortunately, whether this was advantageous for her remained debatable. Each time she sensed a shift in his cultivation, she would flare up, demanding to know when her brother would emerge from seclusion.

Adding to the tension, other family members also inquired about Yang Ji's well-being, as his prolonged seclusion was unusual. This was particularly odd considering Yang Hao sometimes entered seclusion for a month or two without such concern.

Su Yan was especially worried, visiting Yang Xu daily to ask about Yang Ji's progress.

As for why they couldn't simply break the Isolation Array to check on him themselves? The Heavenly Demon Queen had cautioned against it, stating it would nullify his efforts and even impede his understanding of the Dao of Space. Furthermore, she had specifically rigged it so that any attempt to spy on Yang Ji would result in a backlash against him.

Her motivations for this remain unknown, only to her. This only served to exacerbate the hostility between her and the Yang Family, but the Heavenly Demon Queen seemed unconcerned, appearing to pursue a grander objective and disliking any interference.

Nevertheless, it was peculiar that she could observe the interior of the room, yet denied this privilege to others, including Yang Xu. She was also the sole individual permitted to communicate with Yang Ji during this time, and even then, her contact was minimal and only when absolutely necessary.

Consequently, the Heavenly Demon Queen found herself overwhelmed with inquiries about his condition. While she could evade the other family members by hiding within Yang Xu, evading Yang Xu herself was an entirely different matter.

If asked who was the bane of her existence, this young girl would undoubtedly rank first. Even her most formidable adversary wasn't as vexing. She had lost count of how many times this child had pestered her, asking when Yang Ji would finally emerge.

She couldn't recall how many times she had to reiterate that he was still engrossed in comprehending the Dao of Space and required more time!

She simply couldn't comprehend why everyone else was growing anxious after Yang Ji had been in seclusion for merely a week! Just one week! Individuals typically spent decades, centuries, or even millennia to grasp a Dao. Yet, these people were fretting over a boy who had been secluded for only seven days!? It was so ludicrous it made her want to scream!

What was even more infuriating was that these concerned individuals were all cultivators! They had firsthand experience with the arduous process of comprehending a single Dao. Still, here they were, fussing over a young man who had only been in seclusion for a week?

Still, thankfully, all these incessant questions and predictable answers would conclude today.

Yang Xu keenly sensed a stirring within herself. Moments later, her eyes flashed, and she promptly gestured, tearing open Space. However, this tear was unlike a Void Crack, lacking its characteristic murky darkness. Instead, it was crystal clear, resembling a window placed before her, clearly revealing the exit.

It formed a perfect passageway to the outside, leading directly to the platform. If the other students witnessed this, they would undoubtedly be stunned by its appearance, as would Yang Xu with her gaping mouth.

However, she wasn't the only one taken aback. Another party was utterly speechless, now wearing a deeply frustrated expression, as if they had endured a profoundly unpleasant experience multiple times.

Naturally, this individual was none other than the Heavenly Demon Queen.
