Martial Peak Chapter 6077, Difference in Rooms

Li Wu Yi escorted the boys toward the male dormitory while Xu Yi led the girls to the female building.

As anticipated, the dimensions of the living quarters varied significantly by floor. The first floor consisted of standard single rooms, each equipped with a modest area for personal belongings. Moving up to the second floor, the accommodations doubled in size, featuring a distinct layout where one room served as a parlor and the other as a private bedroom.

The children were naturally struck with awe upon witnessing these suites. Even those hailing from prestigious or wealthy clans had rarely encountered living spaces integrated with such a high density of Arrays. In fact, the sheer number of formations was so vast that their jade identification tokens were inscribed with detailed operating manuals.

Li Wu Yi and Xu Yi systematically demonstrated the layout of every floor, including the unoccupied third floor. Their intention was clear: they wanted the students to witness the heights they should aspire to reach through their Cultivation.

The distribution was strictly tiered: ten rooms occupied the first floor, five on the second, three on the third, and a singular, grand suite on the fourth. Fortunately, the class consisted of exactly twenty students with an even gender split, meaning there was no immediate conflict over the second-floor rooms. This was a stark contrast to other classes, where students were likely already engaged in fierce duels to secure the better accommodations.

The instructors emphasized that the true value of the rooms lay not in their square footage, but in the complexity of the internal Arrays. For instance, the efficiency of the Spirit Gathering Array intensified with each ascending floor; those on the third floor were of a grade suitable for the Origin Returning Realm. Most vital, however, was the Insight Array, designed to assist a student in contemplating the profound mysteries of their chosen Dao within their own quarters.

These Insight Arrays were masterpieces crafted by Yang Kai himself, utilizing the power of the Space-Time River. Within these formations, a student could seek a deeper understanding of their path. While each Insight Array contained the essence of 3,000 Daos, the specific knowledge accessible was restricted by the floor and the building. This ensured a structured progression from beginner to advanced levels, preventing the children from spreading their focus too thin and forcing them to master one Dao at a pace their Dantian and soul could handle.

Exposing a student to concepts beyond their current realm was dangerous, risking the loss of their foundational stability or, in extreme cases, the manifestation of a Heart Demon. At the very least, such errors would require a teacher's intervention to correct the warped Cultivation path.

Notably, the contents of the Insight Arrays varied between classes, as Yang Kai allowed the instructors to imbue the formations with their own personal realizations. Although Yang Kai’s own understanding was peerless, he recognized that he wasn't the one providing the daily instruction. It was far more effective for the teachers to transmit their own insights, creating a bespoke educational environment tailored to their specific curriculum.

Within Time Space Class 1, Li Wu Yi had contributed his own profound knowledge, whereas Xu Yi had refrained. From Xu Yi’s perspective, his entire path was a reflection of his Master, Yang Kai. Believing his Master’s grasp of the Dao of Time was far superior to his own, he chose not to overshadow those teachings. Conversely, Li Wu Yi, hoping to find a worthy Disciple, wanted his potential students to learn his methods from the ground up.

This meant that Li Wu Yi was primarily focusing his search for a successor among the students assigned to the first floor.

Eventually, the tour reached the fourth floor. Their class was unique in that it was likely the only one with students already qualified to reside at this level.

Since the fourth floor housed only one suite, the entire level had been converted into a single living space. If the third floor had been impressive, the fourth floor was enough to turn anyone green with envy. Spanning the area of ten standard rooms, it featured a dedicated cultivation chamber, a medicinal bath spring, a sparring hall, a private library, a gravity chamber, and various other amenities.

It was superior to most manor houses. A cultivator could effectively shut themselves inside and never need to leave.

“All of this belongs to just one person?” a student whispered, his voice thick with jealousy.

“This is ridiculous! The gap is just too wide!” shouted another student from the first floor, unable to hide his frustration.

The teachers understood these feelings. The fourth floor was intentionally designed to be a world apart, serving as a powerful motivator for the ambitious. However, in this specific class, everyone knew that Yang Ji and Yang Xu were in a league of their own. Rather than a competition, this display felt like a glimpse at an unreachable peak, further fueling the students' inner desires.

There was a practical reason for this visit, however: the Arrays on this floor were far more potent than those on the third.

The groups were led into the cultivation chamber. Three students were invited onto the platform, and the Spirit Gathering Array was activated at its minimum power. Even though they were prepared, a violent surge of World Energy immediately slammed into them. Within sixty seconds, their skin flushed dark red and sweat poured from their brows. After two minutes, the instructors deactivated the Array, leaving the observers in stunned silence.

Next, they moved to the bath spring. Without requiring anyone to submerge themselves, the teachers selected the strongest students from each group—excluding the twins. They were instructed to simply place a single hand into the water and begin their Cultivation technique.

The moment their skin touched the water, a sharp, biting sensation took hold. It rapidly intensified until it felt as though their entire arms were being consumed by fire.

On the girls' side, the student recoiled instantly, her arm trembling uncontrollably from the shock.

On the boys' side, a youth named Lei Ao grit his teeth, trying to endure. He understood the lesson Li Wu Yi was trying to impart, but his pride refused to let him submit. As a celebrated genius of his own Sect, he could not stomach the idea that he was merely a second-rate talent compared to the twins. How could he accept such a reality?

Li Wu Yi sighed softly. “The young must often collide with reality to truly understand it. If you wish to persist, I will not stop you.”

Even the finest medicine becomes a lethal toxin if the dosage is too high. This was a living demonstration of that truth. Despite the obvious peril, Li Wu Yi remained still, making no move to intervene for the young man.

“Aaargh!” Lei Ao screamed as his arm began to swell, hideous protrusions bulging beneath the skin. The agony radiated from his shoulder through his entire frame. His eyes, now bloodshot, fixed a glare on Yang Ji. [I refuse to believe the difference is this great!]

Finally, Yang Ji let out a sigh and snapped his fingers just as blood began to seep from Lei Ao’s nose and ears.

In a flash of Space principles, Lei Ao was teleported directly beside Yang Ji, who caught him before he could collapse.

Li Wu Yi, appearing unperturbed, turned to the remaining students. “I trust you all now understand that an excess of power is merely poison. While this room seems like a paradise of luxury, it is a death trap for those of your current level. This is the reality of the fourth floor. We have these classifications for your own safety. If you desire better conditions, there is only one path: train harder. That is all.”

Lifting the injured Lei Ao with his Divine Sense, Li Wu Yi added, “Everyone, return to your assigned rooms and rest. I must take this boy to the infirmary. Your parents may visit later this evening.”

The boys, shaken by Lei Ao’s state, swallowed hard and nodded, quickly retreating to the lower floors. Their envy for the fourth floor had vanished, replaced by a newfound appreciation for the safety of their own rooms.

Yang Ji sighed and asked, “Uncle Li Wu Yi, why didn't you step in?”

Li Wu Yi smirked. “Oh? Do you really not know, or are you just testing your theory? I’m sure your sister has already figured it out.”

Yang Ji had a hunch. His Uncle wanted him to appear as a savior to the other children, who were currently intimidated by the twins' status. “Still, that was reckless. He could have been crippled.”

Li Wu Yi gave Yang Ji a light knock on the head. “Do you think I didn't see you preparing to act? I would have moved if you hadn't. For now, stay in your room and follow the rules set by your Father and Mothers. No crossing over to the female building, is that clear?”

“I get it, I get it. Just go heal him already,” Yang Ji grumbled, rolling his eyes as he nudged Li Wu Yi toward the exit.

“You little brat...” Li Wu Yi sighed at the boy’s lack of respect and took flight, carrying the unconscious Lei Ao with him.

Yang Ji bolted the door immediately. Before he could settle in, the Heavenly Demon Queen manifested. “Your progress was stalled by that insignificant brat. Your sister is losing patience. Come, we begin now.”

“What is the first step?” Yang Ji inquired.

The Heavenly Demon Queen countered with a question of her own: “Why rely on such clumsy methods as tearing through the Void? True mastery lies in dominating Space itself, bending it to your will to facilitate your movement. What truly separates your current power from that of the World Tree? What fundamental difference prevents you from mirroring its divine feats?”

“I... I’m not sure,” Yang Ji admitted, scratching his head. Yang Xu’s voice then echoed in their minds, sharp and impatient: “Just get to the point!”

“Patience is required for true enlightenment. Understand that your current techniques rely too heavily on the Void. I want you to focus entirely on the pure manipulation of Space,” the Heavenly Demon Queen explained, rolling her eyes at their youthful haste. This concept was entirely alien to the children.

“Control Space without entering the Void...” Yang Ji murmured, falling into a deep state of contemplation. He immediately sat cross-legged on the floor.

In her own room, Yang Xu felt the shift in his Qi and mirrored his posture, entering a meditative trance.

The Heavenly Demon Queen smiled, taking the chance to slip out of the room, passing through the powerful Arrays as if they were nothing more than a light breeze.
