Love You Till the End Chapter 1211 - 1209: Shi Mei vs. Shi Keke (56)
Previously on Love You Till the End...
The undertone in his words was perceptible to Shi Keke, and his response struck her as somewhat extreme. Despite her awareness of his typically overbearing nature, she found his current demeanor peculiar.
This led her to ponder...
"Was it due to you that my classmate decided to transfer?" she inquired, her voice tinged with doubt.
"So what if it was?" He readily admitted, "If I hadn't shown restraint, do you think he would have ever had the opportunity to return to Du City and achieve anything significant in this lifetime?"
"No wonder he left without a word. It grieved him for a considerable time," Shi Keke stated, her brow furrowed. "Back in junior high, he was my idol. Whenever he played basketball, I would secretly find a secluded spot with my sketchbook and pencil, capturing his every move on the court for my personal collection."
Shi Mei's gaze was profound, resembling an unfathomable abyss. "Shi Keke, how have I never noticed this girlish side of you before?"
"Because you never wrote me a love letter, never confessed your feelings daily, and never harbored a secret crush on me for an entire semester." This was Shi Keke's retort.
Upon hearing this, Shi Mei emitted a low chuckle before uttering "Very well" and abruptly wrenching the steering wheel, veering the car to the roadside.
Once the vehicle was stationary, he unbuckled his seatbelt, exited the car, circled to the front, opened the passenger door, released Shi Keke's seatbelt, and without a word, pulled her out.
"Brother, what are you doing?"
"What am I doing? Do you not enjoy watching the guys you admire play basketball? Today, I shall grant your wish and allow you to watch to your heart's content."
As Shi Mei spoke, he took her wrist and guided her towards the adjacent basketball court.
Shi Keke couldn't help but wonder if basketball courts were now freely available for construction, given their ubiquitous presence.
"Brother, honestly, I don't particularly enjoy watching others play basketball that much anymore."
"I was young and foolish back then, unaware of what was proper. Had I known better, I wouldn't have sketched other men. Even if I had drawn, it would have only been of you."
"Brother, do you have a basketball...?"
Shi Mei completely disregarded Shi Keke's question, showing no concern about the absence of a basketball.
Shi Keke resolved to remain silent, opting to observe his intentions.
In her recollection, he had never played basketball, nor had she ever heard any mention of his skills in that area.
Yet, observing him now, he seemed capable of playing?
But that seemed unlikely. Generally, without consistent practice, one would become rusty, wouldn't they? Someone who hasn't touched a ball in a decade probably wouldn't even remember how to shoot, would they?
Perhaps lost in her thoughts, Shi Keke failed to notice a sewer manhole cover ahead. As she passed over it, her heel became lodged.
"Brother, slow down, please..."
"My heel, it's stuck in the sewer manhole cover..."
Shi Keke had always assumed such predicaments were confined to television dramas and never imagined experiencing one herself.
She rarely wore high heels; when working on a case, she was often out gathering evidence, making heels impractical. Only for court appearances did she opt for a more formal dress code.
But fate had it that she wore heels today, stepped directly onto a sewer manhole cover, and became stuck!
