Love You Till the End Chapter 1175 - 1173: Shi Mei vs Shi Keke (20)
Previously on Love You Till the End...
Curiously, this particular brand of sanitary napkin – she recalled it being the case – had once been glimpsed by him when she was tidying her bag in his presence.
It was a singular occurrence, yet she found it remarkable that he would concern himself with her affairs to such a degree, remembering it with such clarity.
"I'm hungry," Shi Keke turned her head abruptly to face him.
Adopting the demeanor of a young girl, she pouted, "I want you to take me to eat crayfish, to that place you used to take me when I was little."
Her memory was still vivid of being fifteen, having just finished middle school and planning a night of karaoke with her classmates.
However, fate intervened. Before she could even reach the KTV, he had forcibly removed her from the situation, lecturing her sternly.
His words echoed, "What is it like for a young lady to be out so late?" "Do you understand how problematic those kinds of places can be?" "Just try going there again if you dare." In essence, he delivered a thoroughly overbearing admonishment.
She felt wronged, but he remained unfazed. Instead, he steered her toward an arcade, leaving her to observe him playing games from the sidelines.
He progressed through level after level, and her patience began to wane. Thus, she discreetly departed while he was using the restroom.
She had presumed she had evaded his grasp, only to discover it was a cleverly laid trap. As she emerged from the arcade's rear exit, he was there, leaning against the wall, smoking. Rings of smoke billowed from his mouth, and the swirling vapor seemed to obscure his features, lending him an air of roguish charm.
From that very moment, she perceived him as a man – a man of cunning schemes.
Unable to outwit him, she resigned herself to his will, grasping his arm and sweetly imploring, "Brother..."
Her display of affection was something he could not withstand. Ultimately, he relented, escorting her to a well-established snack shop situated near the old pier on the east side of the city.
The establishment bore the marks of time, with its facilities and decor appearing decidedly vintage. Nevertheless, the place was kept in a clean and orderly fashion, and it bustled with patrons.
It was her inaugural visit, and she emulated the diners at the adjacent table, ordering a generous portion of shrimp, a plate of crab, and an assortment of other seafood.
While partaking in the shrimp, she found the task of peeling the shells tedious and appealed to him for assistance. He, however, was disinclined, offering a cold refusal.
Perceiving his lack of enthusiasm, she became disgruntled, tossed her chopsticks onto the table, and declared with a pout, "Then I won't eat!" before burying her face in her arms at the table, sulking.
He then proceeded to peel the shrimp shells with a slow, deliberate pace. She assumed his heart had softened and eagerly anticipated him feeding her. To her surprise, after meticulously preparing a single shrimp, he placed it into his own mouth!
In a burst of pique, she swiftly gathered all the surrounding food onto her lap, preventing him from partaking further.
Likely amused by her childish reaction, he finally chuckled, reached out to gently pat her head, and inquired, "I'll peel them for you, alright?"
Following this exchange, she consumed every last shrimp, each one meticulously peeled by his hand. Throughout the meal, he abstained entirely, simply sitting opposite her, content to watch her eat.
Back then, she understood that she was the recipient of his very first act of service. Little did she imagine that she would one day embark on life's journey alongside this individual she referred to as 'brother'.
Recalling these moments, Shi Keke couldn't suppress a smile. In retrospect, each of those minor disagreements now seemed to be a unique form of affection – a romance not everyone had the fortune to experience or comprehend.
She and he were akin to young green plums and little bamboo horses, traversing together from the dawn of innocence to their present day.
