Shi Keke’s car was involved in an incident where it was parked illegally and hit someone, which she discovered was orchestrated by Shi Mei. While Shi Keke acknowledged her feelings for Shi Mei, she doubted their relationship's viability due to his overly protective, brotherly concern. Shen Cheng reassured her that Shi Mei's actions stemmed from deep affection and fear of losing her.

Shi Keke and Shen Cheng engaged in a discussion regarding Shi Mei, considering their intertwined relationships as friends and future sister-in-law. Shen Cheng, harboring a wish for Shi Keke and Shi Mei to be together, devised a plan.

"I doubt this strategy would be effective. Given my brother's disposition, if he were to discover I was secretly involved with another man, that individual would likely face severe consequences, possibly to the point of death or grievous injury."

"That would depend entirely on the identity of the person involved," Shen Cheng responded with a slight smile. "Surely he wouldn't be so heartless as to end my life?"

"So, Sister-in-law, you're suggesting I pose as a man and act as my own date?"

"Precisely my intention," Shen Cheng affirmed.

"Very well," Shi Keke raised an eyebrow, a hint of amusement in her voice. "With your delicate build, how could you possibly pass for a man?"

"Are you indirectly complimenting my femininity?" Shen Cheng playfully inquired.

"Indeed, you possess the utmost femininity."

Following the conclusion of her workday, Shi Keke exited the law firm and contacted Shi Mei to inquire about the status of her vehicle.

Shi Mei informed her that the car's paint had been repaired, but it would require an additional three days before she could retrieve it from the automotive shop.

Shi Keke simply acknowledged this with a brief "Understood," adding, "Alright, I'll just opt for taxis for the next few days; it's quite convenient."

"There have been numerous taxi-related robberies reported recently. Are you certain you wish to rely on taxis?" Shi Mei's tone was unperturbed, as if stating an inconsequential fact.

"Your sister has acquired some self-defense skills; I'm not particularly worried about being robbed. Besides, the likelihood of encountering a robbery while in a taxi is quite slim. Could I truly be that unfortunate?"

Shi Keke projected an air of nonchalance, a trait developed from her lifelong independence. Her consistent habit of navigating challenging circumstances on her own had fostered a remarkable fearlessness within her.

"While you may not be afraid, I am," the voice on the other end of the line, low and subtly unnerving, conveyed a weighty sentiment that could not be easily dismissed.

Shi Keke chuckled, "So, there are occasions when even you experience fear."

"Enough with the jesting," Shi Mei commanded sternly. "Do not venture out; await my arrival to escort you."

"There's no necessity for that, Brother. I have a dinner engagement scheduled later; someone will be picking me up directly from the company. Following the dinner, they can provide me a ride home."

"I dare you to even consider entering another person's vehicle," the frigid voice declared, imbued with an undercurrent of menace that momentarily chilled the surrounding atmosphere, transforming it into an icy chamber.

"The car collecting me has arrived, Brother; we shall speak again soon. I will call you back..."

With the phone call abruptly terminated, Shi Keke surveyed her surroundings. Her gaze fell upon an unlicensed Maserati discreetly parked across the street. Swiftly, she approached, opened the door, and settled inside.

Observing Shi Keke entering the vehicle, Shen Cheng, who occupied the driver's seat, immediately posed the question, "So, has the intended target taken the bait?"

"In a manner of speaking," Shi Keke replied. Truthfully, she remained uncertain whether Shi Mei would fall for the ruse.

Shen Cheng uttered an "Okay" and initiated the car's movement.

The vehicle soon came to a halt outside a nearby upscale dining establishment. Shi Keke disembarked first to secure a table, while Shen Cheng strategically parked the car in the most prominent location before rejoining Shi Keke.

To provide Shi Keke with the utmost support, Shen Cheng spared no expense. Prior to this rendezvous, she had arranged to 'borrow' a new Maserati from a 4S dealership. Though officially documented as a temporary loan, it was understood that the vehicle would not be returned once it left the premises...
