Jax remained unconscious as Sianna attacked, but an unknown woman intervened and easily overpowered Sianna. The mysterious woman, calling herself Tempris, resurrected Jax's defeated beasts and warned Sianna away from Jax, revealing a deep connection to him. Before vanishing, Tempris tasked Echidna with watching over Jax.

Jax stirred from a deep slumber, his disoriented eyes taking in the unfamiliar surroundings. He felt a sense of confusion as the monstrous beasts he had used as a makeshift bed were nowhere to be found. The Behemoth, the Griffin, the Hydra – all of them vanished, leaving only flattened grass and lingering bloodstains where the formidable creatures once lay.

Catching sight of the sun cresting the cliff, he mumbled, "Damn it. When did I pass out? And in enemy territory, no less."

His gaze drifted further, spotting Sianna lying on the ground, completely bare. Her form was slightly arched, with vibrant purple Jacaranda petals scattered across her like a bizarre, abstract painting.

A voice echoed in his mind, "You pervert, don't even think about starting again. I'm already dealing with enough lifelong trauma."

Jax directed his words to Echidna, "What do you take me for? I'm hardly a shameless degenerate."

"Really?"

She followed up, "Care to explain what’s causing that bulge in your pants?"

Glancing down, Jax saw his erection making a clear declaration to the morning sun through his trousers. He hastily covered it with both hands, a flush of shame washing over him, as if he hadn't put on a public display with it for a full day and night.

He stammered, his voice laced with panic, "This is just morning wood. A sign of a true man and a certified testament to masculinity. It has absolutely nothing to do with whatever you're imagining."

Echidna remained unconvinced. "Is that so?"

Jax chose to ignore her, then suddenly stopped. He realized he was wearing clothes. Clean clothes, at that.

"Who dressed me?"

He felt the fabric of his shirt, thinking, 'What in the world is going on? How are the clothes that should be covered in dust and blood, or utterly ruined, now pristine as if new? If my memory serves me, these should have been buried under those beasts.'

He paused.

'Wait. Beasts? Where did they disappear to? What is happening?'

His eyes found Sianna again. She was still asleep, recovering from the arduous day's events.

He mused, 'Did she do this? It makes no sense otherwise. But thinking about it, that makes even less sense. Why would she bother dressing me? Instead of clothing me and cleaning me up, she'd likely just lop my head off.'

Then, Jax grasped the magnitude of his blunder. He had fallen asleep right beside the one person in this world who most desired his demise. Seeing him so vulnerable, she would have undoubtedly tried to kill him.

He berated himself for his sheer stupidity.

He retrieved his sword and began to walk away, contemplating, 'Sianna must have been utterly exhausted. Left without the strength to strike me down while I slept. Or perhaps she passed out even before I did.'

He gave a shrug. 'She certainly missed a prime opportunity.'

And as Jax concocted explanations for the inexplicable, he sensed the presence of multiple individuals. Before his mind could fully register the impending threat, arrows and several spears hailed down upon him from various directions.

Witnessing the assault, Jax broke into a wide grin.

He felt profoundly different. The world seemed to move in slow motion to him now. He could perceive the trajectories, the patterns. The coordinated attack, designed to leave no room for evasion, was nothing more than a warm-up drill for his enhanced capabilities.

So, he played along. He sliced through the incoming arrows, one after another, weaving through the barrage with a grace that seemed more like a performance than a fight for survival. Then, an arrow and a spear converged upon him simultaneously. The arrow was aimed at his head, while the spear, conjured through water magic, hurtled towards his chest.

Jax effortlessly split the water spear in two. The resulting spray enveloped his bloodied sword, and he then used his mouth to catch the arrow by its wooden shaft, shattering it between his teeth.

He casually sat down on the ground, beginning to rub his sword against the grass to clean it. "How did you know I needed water?" he inquired nonchalantly.

He wiped his face with the residual water from the disintegrated spear.

"Thanks for the hospitality. It appears I must take my leave now, as I have matters to attend to. But worry not, I'll be back for another visit soon."

Upon hearing this, all the women from the female order emerged from their concealed positions amongst the trees.

The commander from earlier was seething with rage. Her gaze swept past Jax, settling on Sianna's side, where the duchess lay in a dire state. She was naked, her hair dishevelled, face bruised, and body covered in swelling and contusions.

Her fury reached its apex as she declared, "You have made a terrible mistake."

The women encircled him from all sides, poised to attack.

Jax steeled himself for a confrontation. But before any of them could make the first move, a voice commanded, silencing them all. "Stop this instant."

All eyes turned towards Sianna, who was beginning to rise on trembling legs.

"Enough. Let him go."

The commander hurried to her side, draping a royal shawl over her. Then, with a bow, she stated, "But Your Grace, we cannot simply—"

Sianna's sharp voice sliced through her words, "Are you now going to dictate my actions and decide what I should or should not do?"

A furious blaze ignited in Sianna's eyes. She understood that there was nothing she could do about Jax.

She commanded, "Do not lay a single hand on him. We are returning to the palace immediately. That is an absolute order."

This command stunned every woman present. The duchess they knew would have left this man dangling from the highest tower by his entrails, along with his entire family and anyone he dared call a friend. Yet, witnessing her walk away without administering any punishment was utterly incomprehensible.

What added to their disbelief was the undeniable fear in their duchess's eyes as she glanced at Jax—a fear they had never witnessed in her before.

Jax himself was perplexed. He couldn't fathom what had caused such a drastic change in her demeanor. Was it the apprehension of him invoking the second day of his reward at that very moment? Or perhaps she could sense the novel power surging through his body after reaching his maximum potential?

Regardless of the reason, it saved him considerable time he would have otherwise spent dealing with her volatile temper.

Speaking of time, an realization dawned on him.

"My Queen Sianna, could you please tell me the current time?"

Sianna flinched momentarily at the address, her expression clouding further with fear. However, recognizing it as a simple inquiry, she turned to the commander. "Report the time, please."

The commander consulted her pocket watch. "It is 6:07."

Jax's face turned ashen. His inaugural class with the new first-year students was slated to begin at 9 AM, and there was absolutely no possibility of him returning to the academy from his current location in time.

He muttered under his breath, "Fuck. I am entirely screwed."
