Lewd System: Every Scream and Moan is EXP Chapter 303 : Love Makes People Lose All Senses

As Sianna’s sword descended, aiming to sever Jax’s neck, he instinctively rolled in his sleep, a maneuver so perfect it was as if he had unconsciously countered the attack. The blade grazed past, instead slicing the flesh of the beast slumbering beneath him.
With an exasperated click of her tongue, Sianna launched another swift attack, a final blow intended to finish the job. Yet, the result was the same as before; he shifted away, his movements resembling someone blissfully dreaming of escaping their obligations.
Overcome by frustration and the sting of her injuries, Sianna could bear it no longer. She let go of her sword, her hands beginning to gather mana. If her blade failed, magic would surely suffice.
Meanwhile, deep within Jax’s soul, Echidna was at a loss regarding the suicidal sleeper. Her attempts to rouse him from within were met with no response, and this was the extent of her ability to protect him, as she was powerless to use her own abilities in his current state.
She let out a sigh. 'You brought this upon yourself. Now, you must face the consequences.'
Then, a thought struck her. 'Wait. Mother would be devastated if he were to die.'
She pondered further. 'But she possesses the ability to resurrect him, doesn't she? If that's the case, then why did she entrust him to me in the first place?'
As she wrestled with her own thoughts, the final realization dawned. 'What am I even contemplating? It's not as if I can actually accomplish anything right now.'
Thus, she simply observed, steeling herself to witness Jax's demise as Sianna prepared to unleash her spell.
Sianna's eyes blazed with fury as she declared, "You can no longer evade me, you filth. Perish now, you accursed cur."
However, before she could unleash her magic, an invisible, crushing pressure enveloped her throat. She began to choke, and the gathered magic dissipated instantaneously.
Struggling against an unseen force, she was baffled. Her already damaged body endured even greater agony from an attacker she could not perceive.
She cried out in pain, "Reveal yourself, coward!"
At that exact moment, a green light began to spiral in front of her, coalescing into a tornado that intensified in brightness and density before vanishing entirely. Standing in its wake was a stunningly beautiful woman.
Her mere gaze sent an icy chill down Sianna's spine. Her heart hammered against her ribs with frantic intensity, threatening to rupture. An overwhelming sense of dread and terror, unlike anything she had ever experienced, flooded her consciousness. Every instinct screamed at her to bow, to beg for forgiveness, for the being before her was undeniably extraordinary.
The potent mana radiating from the woman caused Sianna to feel nauseous. Amidst her horror, she managed to stammer, "Who are you?"
The woman simply smiled and replied, "A coward, I suppose. Isn't that what you just called me?"
She approached the duchess, who knelt in a state of undress, her body marred and swollen, and grasped her jaw firmly. "I am also known as the Witch of Eternity. However, I doubt my renown is sufficient for recognition. Not in this particular timeline."
Sianna, bewildered as to why such a formidable entity would appear in this desolate location, questioned, "Why would you protect this worthless scum? This disgusting leech—"
Her words caught in her throat. The sheer fury radiating from the witch froze her blood solid. The witch's eyes blazed with green light, and the palpable mana emanating from her warned Sianna that she had committed a grave error.
The lifeless bodies of the beasts they had been lying upon began to stir. Their missing limbs regenerated from mere nothingness. The very ground groaned, cracking and shifting, causing Sianna to struggle as the earth beneath her fractured, sending her plummeting deeper and deeper.
Yet, before she could sustain any harm, one of the Hydra's gaping maws caught her mid-fall, gently placing her back onto solid ground. Simultaneously, the witch ascended onto the back of a Griffin, which was now vibrantly alive and carrying Jax’s unconscious form.
The witch strode halfway towards Sianna. All the beasts Jax had slain throughout the day now stood arrayed around her in a circle, resurrected and whole, a testament to the awe-inspiring power this woman wielded.
Her expression and tone turned menacing as she stated, "Worthless? Choose your words with extreme caution. They might very well be your last."
She then regained her composure and added, "I have no desire to end your life, as there would be repercussions. But do not mistake this for a lack of capability."
Raising her hand, Sianna's body levitated off the ground, the suffocating pressure returning to her throat.
"Simply ensure you understand your station. And never again attempt to impede this man's path. I shall be observing you. Should I detect any scheme, or even a single insult uttered from your foul mouth, I cannot predict my own actions."
She lowered her hand, and Sianna plummeted to the ground.
The witch approached the unconscious, unclothed Jax, her fingers brushing his cheek as a soft smile graced her lips. In an instant, his clothing reformed, fitting him perfectly. The attire that had been tattered and on the verge of being buried beneath the beasts' corpses was now restored, appearing as good as new upon his body.
With his face cradled against her chest, she softly murmured, "You are such a fool. Sleeping so peacefully when nothing around you is so peaceful."
Her smile vanished, and she spoke through telepathy, "Echidna, stop hiding and show yourself."
"How do you know I was here, Tempris?" Echidna inquired.
"I know everything. You idiot."
"How foolish of me," Echidna admitted. "But hey, where were you all this time? Things weren’t exactly quiet around here."
Tempris offered another smile as she gazed down at Jax. Placing his head on her lap, she replied, "I know."
Echidna then asked, "By the way, who is this guy? And why do the 'don't give a fuck' types keep taking a liking to him? First Mother and now you. So who is he? And what is he to you?"
"Everything," Tempris responded, gently ruffling his hair.
With cute indignation, Echidna declared, "Don't mess with me and spill the beans. If it's some romantic situation then I am absolutely in for the gossip."
Tempris flushed, retorting, "Shut up. There is nothing like that."
However, Echidna, already lost in her imagination, ignored her. "Come to think of it, now I understand why you always acted so cold in front of other men. You were busy saving all that warmth for him. You were freezing everyone else out just to melt for this one idiot."
"Just shut up," Tempris hissed.
Echidna pressed on, "But let me warn you, this guy is a cheater. Plus he is a disgusting perver—"
She abruptly stopped. The furious grin on Tempris's face was one Echidna recognized from centuries ago, a precursor to events Echidna preferred not to recall.
Tempris stated, "You didn't learn a single lesson from what I displayed a moment ago? Looks like I need to find your real body and play with it for a while."
Seeing the seriousness on Tempris's face, Echidna gulped. "How could you do such a thing to your own sister?"
"We aren't sisters."
"How evil of you, sis. You forget the moments we spent together. Oh god, love sure does make people lose all senses."
"One more word about love and I will punish you right here."
"Zip."
Tempris looked down at Jax, a sad smile gracing her lips. "Looks like my time has run out," she said. "Echidna, promise me you will take care of him. His path will be filled with danger and he will take it head on while being all alone."
She began to fade, her body dissolving into the same green light with which she had arrived.
Echidna quickly asked, "Wait! Where are you going?"
Tempris silenced her with a soft, "Sshh." Then, just before vanishing completely, she added, "And don’t tell him anything about what happened here."
The green light disappeared, and the late-night breeze returned to the cliff. The resurrected beasts began to move in line, like trained dogs, towards the depths of the forest, while Jax continued to sleep.
Echidna cursed into the silence. "This girl has sure gone crazy."
