Invincible Little School Doctor Chapter 2009: 2009: A Vast Difference in Aesthetics

“Hurry and finish up; I’ll be waiting for you outside!” With a knowing wink at Niu Kui, Ye Haochuan began to make his exit. The woman was obviously in a state of heightened emotion, posing no threat to Niu Kui, so his safety wasn’t a concern.
“Brother Ye, don’t leave…” Niu Kui felt a flicker of unease and started to panic as Ye Haochuan departed.
However, just as he was about to follow, the woman seized him, throwing herself into his embrace. The lean man could take no more, his face contorting in anger as he stormed off. With Ye Haochuan also gone, the woman grew even bolder, reaching for Niu Kui’s buttons…
Having no desire to witness the unfolding of other people’s predicaments, Ye Haochuan returned to his Red Flame Horse, retrieved a map, and began to familiarize himself with the path ahead.
Yet, he had barely taken his seat when he saw Niu Kui sprinting towards him at an alarming pace.
Ye Haochuan stared at Niu Kui in utter disbelief, a chuckle escaping him. “I must say, you’re remarkably swift! Thirty seconds, including disrobing and dressing?”
Ye Haochuan couldn’t suppress a peculiar expression; such a rapid display seemed entirely out of character for Niu Kui.
“What’s too fast?” Niu Kui inquired, perplexed, but he didn't linger on the question, urging Ye Haochuan, “Let’s go, that woman is mad! She’s determined to undress me…”
Wait a second, so he actually fled?
A wave of amusement washed over Ye Haochuan. While the woman wasn’t exactly a paragon of beauty, her passionate intensity would likely enthrall most men.
Yet, for Niu Kui, this very ardor seemed akin to sheer lunacy.
“Brother, oh dear brother, why are you running away?” The woman, not even bothering to don her clothes, gave chase urgently.
However, she was no match for Niu Kui’s speed; by the time she reached the spot, he was already long gone.
A look of profound disappointment crossed her face as her gaze shifted to the peculiarly dressed Ye Haochuan.
“While you aren’t as tall as that other fellow, you possess a sturdy build. Very well, I’ll make do with you today, as that man failed to satisfy me,” she declared, pursing her lips and striking a pose she no doubt considered provocative as she advanced towards Ye Haochuan.
Oh dear, she’s actually set her sights on me.
Ye Haochuan’s demeanor shifted to one of immediate alertness, his earlier detached amusement vanishing instantly.
“Uh, my sister-in-law is calling me home to warm her bed. See you later…”
With a hasty excuse, Ye Haochuan made his swift departure.
It wasn't a matter of chivalry, but rather, the woman was simply far too…
Ye Haochuan had the distinct impression that this woman possessed more combat experience than even the most seasoned courtesans at the Emerald Fragrance Tower, the sort who’d be incapacitated after mere hours of exertion.
Following Ye Haochuan’s retreat, the woman’s face contorted with rage.
“Two insensible brutes—I am, at the very least, the most beautiful woman in this village, yet they ‘reject’ me so crudely. You’d best hope our paths do not cross again, lest I castrate you both!”
With that declaration, the woman stomped her foot indignantly, her expression still clouded with disappointment as she watched Ye Haochuan disappear into the distance.
Subsequently, her gaze fixed upon a branch as thick as a grown man’s wrist. She artfully sharpened its tip and skillfully disappeared into the dense shrubbery.
Meanwhile, having put several miles between himself and the encounter without any sign of pursuit, Ye Haochuan finally let out a sigh of relief.
Blast it all, to stumble into such a situation, I can’t decide if it’s fortune or misfortune.
He soon rejoined Niu Kui, who still appeared visibly shaken, patting his chest repeatedly.
“My word, why did you refuse her offer when she presented herself so willingly?” Ye Haochuan queried, a hint of curiosity in his tone.
Although he himself had declined, his motivations were clearly different.
Having been surrounded by ravishing beauties attending to his every whim for so long, Ye Haochuan naturally held elevated standards for women. It was quite understandable that an attractive woman of merely average appearance wouldn’t stir his interest.
But Niu Kui, evidently not as worldly as Ye Haochuan, likely only had the Five-Finger Girl as a romantic partner, if that.
In such circumstances, encountering a woman who wasn’t entirely unappealing and who offered herself without reservation should have been an opportunity too good to refuse.
“Could it be that you have certain… preferences, and aren’t interested in women?” Ye Haochuan playfully ventured.
“Interested in women? You mean, in the context of procreation?” Niu Kui’s eyes widened in sudden understanding. “Are you suggesting that woman intended to have my child?”
“Precisely so. I mean, didn’t you grasp the situation?” Ye Haochuan asked with a slightly awkward chuckle.
“I genuinely didn't realize!” Niu Kui replied with a sheepish laugh.
Ye Haochuan chuckled once more. “You know, you could probably still catch up if you hurried back now…”
“There’s no need; I’m truly not interested in her!” Niu Kui stated earnestly. “She’s far too petite—she couldn’t possibly bear strong offspring. I prefer someone taller, and ideally with broad hips to ensure sturdy progeny!”
Good heavens, everyone truly possesses unique tastes!
Ye Haochuan couldn't help but let out a sigh.
The ideal woman Niu Kui envisioned could be described as needing a physique akin to an ox.
Considering his robust physique, it made sense that someone more delicate might not withstand him. It was merely a minor incident, and neither harbored any ill will; they soon resumed their expedition.
After half a day of arduous trekking, they traversed a substantial mountain. Upon reaching the summit, the distinct sound of rushing water became audible. "It appears this must be the Tuo River. Once we manage to cross it, we shall find ourselves within the boundaries of Anxi County!" Ye Haochuan exclaimed, his gaze fixed on the map with evident delight.
The path ahead, though fraught with thorny bushes and steep, slippery inclines, was undeniably passable. It seemed their chosen route was indeed the correct one, promising to shave off three to four days compared to the much longer alternative.
With this encouraging thought, the pair propelled themselves forward, quickening their pace.
Before long, they arrived at the precipice of a sheer cliff.
The cliff face plunged downwards dramatically, almost as if carved by an otherworldly hand. Far below, the Tuo River churned and roared. On the opposing side stood another cliff, uncannily mirroring the one where Ye Haochuan currently stood.
Observing these imposing cliffs, one could easily imagine they were once a single, unified formation, violently sundered by the blade of some immensely powerful being. If such a colossal feat were true, then this ancient entity must have possessed truly divine might!
Ye Haochuan found himself utterly captivated, his spirit filled with awe at the majestic sight.
"Brother Ye, with this colossal mountain towering above and the vast river flowing below, how do we propose to cross?" Niu Kui suddenly interjected.
Snapping back to reality from his reverie, Ye Haochuan surveyed his surroundings before replying, "The map indicates the presence of a suspension bridge somewhere in this vicinity. Let us endeavor to locate it!"
With his declaration, the two companions embarked on their search for the elusive bridge.
However, mere minutes later, a wave of despair washed over them.
Indeed, evidence of a former suspension bridge was present, but who knew how many years had passed since its prime. Now, the bridge lay in ruins, snapped in twain at its center. Gazing upon the tattered remnants of its chains still clinging to the bridge posts, Ye Haochuan's expression grew grim.
