Wu Xiao Dao mysteriously appeared on the battlefield, crushing the Western Ridge Kingdom's top general under her and securing victory for Eastern Qi. Fu Ming Shao, the Sixth Prince, questioned her lightning-struck arrival and weakened state, then took her along to aid General Mu's ambushed forces despite repeated horse misfortunes she blamed on her bad luck. Upon spotting the beleaguered general—whom she recognized as Mu Si—under attack from arrows and foes, Wu Xiao Dao broke free and charged to his rescue.

Watching Wu Xiao Dao's retreating figure, members of the Falcon team cried out in awe: “What powerful light footwork!”

A great distance still lay between this spot and the valley. Normal folks couldn't leap across it in a single bound—they'd need mid-air supports. Yet she soared right over it without any.

Mu Si truly sensed the peril closing in from behind, yet he was locked in combat with foes ahead, leaving no spare effort to counter the threat at his back. Right as he believed doom had arrived, a loud bang echoed behind him, clearly from someone slamming into an object.

“Pfft—”

From behind came the sharp sound of a longsword slashing through a throat. Mu Si whipped around to see a blood-soaked woman wielding her blade, slaying two assailants who had targeted her.

Who was this woman? Why was she aiding him?

Mu Si froze briefly, but then she seized his shoulder, yanking him aside to dodge the strike aimed at his left side.

“Can you hold on any longer?” Spotting Mu Si's body riddled with injuries, fury surged in Wu Xiao Dao's chest. She brandished her longsword, cutting down everyone nearby, then wrapped an arm around his waist, leaped high, and dashed toward Fu Ming Shao's position.

Her speed was blinding; by the time she and Mu Si landed, no one had processed what happened.

Fu Ming Shao extended his hand, and a subordinate passed him a longbow. He took aim across the field, unleashed the arrow, and soon chaos erupted among the foes opposite, with cries of 'General' ringing out nonstop.

Some Falcon team members remained atop the ridge, firing arrows at the enemy lines, while others charged down to engage. With their lead General slain and allied reinforcements arriving, the opponents retreated swiftly.

Mu Si's wounds were grave, blood loss severe, and fatigue overwhelming. Upon reaching Fu Ming Shao, his strained nerves finally relaxed, sending him crumpling to the earth.

“Hey, Mu Si, you okay?” Wu Xiao Dao propped him upright. Noticing his impending unconsciousness, she slapped his cheeks lightly and fed him a trauma-healing elixir.

......

Thank goodness this interspatial ring still functioned.

After swallowing the pill, Mu Si's injuries mended rapidly. He gazed up at Wu Xiao Dao, furrowing his brow: “Do you know me?”

“You don’t recognize me now?” Wu Xiao Dao noted the bewilderment in his eyes and blinked.

“I've never laid eyes on you, so how would I? Are you a new recruit?” Mu Si wondered, unaware of any fresh enlistment by Fu Ming Shao!

Having loosed his arrow, Fu Ming Shao approached and overheard their exchange, growing even more baffled.

“Do you know Mu Si?” he questioned Wu Xiao Dao.

“Of course! We've been acquainted since childhood.” Wu Xiao Dao replied, “yet he doesn't remember me anymore.”

“Mu Si is the Mu family's firstborn son. Raised in the capital, he's stayed close to me from young. I have no idea when he met someone like you.” Fu Ming Shao explained.

Wu Xiao Dao blinked, clasped Mu Si’s hand briefly before letting go, and remarked, “My intuition was spot on. But...”

She truly hadn't anticipated Mu Si opting for such a grueling trial by fire.

“But what?”

“I know him, but he no longer knows me. Sigh.” Wu Xiao Dao heaved a deep sigh.

She had figured encountering Mu Si would reveal this location through him. Little did she expect he'd erased all past memories.

Noticing Fu Ming Shao's urge to probe further, she cut in swiftly: “Don't bother asking; I'm not telling now.”

Her slight frown softened Fu Ming Shao's prior aloofness, as though struck. Observing her demeanor, he realized she'd never divulge the truth.

The pill worked wonders on Mu Si, reviving him from near-death to brimming vitality. Spotting Fu Ming Shao heading aside to monitor the battlefield below, he rose with effort after a couple attempts and trailed after.

Wu Xiao Dao remained seated, pondering the insights gleaned from Mu Si’s memories.

This realm was a mundane continent devoid of cultivation. Locals practiced martial arts but lacked spirit power training. Given her present state, she ranked as a supreme expert here.

Assurance of her safety brought no joy. She pondered when she might reclaim her power, shatter the void, and return to the Ancient Continent—or await her parents' discovery.

She trusted that her vanishing wouldn't escape her parents' or Xiao Yao Yao's notice. With her power insufficient, she'd bide her time calmly for their arrival. Treat this interval as a well-deserved respite and recharge.

Though admittedly, she'd rested more than Xiao Yao Yao already.

Meanwhile, Fu Ming Shao glanced at approaching Mu Si, startled by his swift recovery.

“The pill she gave me is incredibly potent.” Mu Si explained, “Shao, who is she and why's she here? A spy from the foe?”

Despite her recent rescue, if enemy-sent, he... would spare no quarter.

“No chance.” Fu Ming Shao declared firmly, recounting how Wu Xiao Dao crushed the rival General.

Learning a renowned General met such an end at her hands left Mu Si deeply shocked; he sighed emotionally: “Never thought he'd perish like that in the end.”

Relief washed over him regardless—he preferred she wasn't foe-aligned.

“Her background's a mystery, so we can't simply release her.” Fu Ming Shao stated, “Plus, those superior pills of hers—we should have her visit the capital to check on Wan’er.”

“If it truly works...”

“Who’s Wan’er? Your beloved, Mu Si?” Wu Xiao Dao’s voice rang out abruptly behind them, “If she’s your sweetheart, count me in for a visit.”

Mu Si: “...”

Fu Ming Shao: “...”

Three months on, Wu Xiao Dao rode horseback behind Fu Ming Shao, observing crowds lining the streets, cheering the triumphant troops.

Her mental power undiminished, she caught every whisper clearly: bits like ‘Who’s that woman, Sixth Prince’s concubine? General’s spouse? Mingling with all those army men—lacks self-respect?’ Such drivel had hounded her the entire journey.

These folks sure loved to gossip, she grumbled inwardly.

Sensing hostile glares, she scanned about and noted numerous women shooting daggers her way. Unclear if aimed at Fu Ming Shao or Mu Si.

Fu Ming Shao and Mu Si headed to the Palace for the Emperor. As the slayer of the enemy General, she topped the summons list and, lacking lodging, tagged along inside.

Inside the imperial study, Fu Ming Shao and Mu Si dropped to their knees. She stood nearby, eyeing the Emperor, utterly disinclined to kneel.

“Insolent! How dare you refuse to kneel before His Majesty!” A piercing shout erupted from beside the throne.

“Only my parents deserve my kneel in this world.” Wu Xiao Dao’s words instantly altered every face in the imperial study.
