Inner Voice: All Heroines Hear My Inner Voice Chapter 1117: In a higher-dimensional universe, the power of the Machine God remains unmatched
Previously on Inner Voice: All Heroines Hear My Inner Voice...
"This is the power a god should possess."
Thanatos's voice echoed throughout space.
She didn't explain much; she merely boasted about her own power.
How could she not?
If she had to explain the details, it would be too much trouble for her.
So, let me explain it in a way that's easy to understand!
Visually speaking, that slash from Thanatos just now was only capable of destroying a few planets and space within a radius of more than ten billion light-years.
So-called Outer Goddesses like Nyarlathotep or Naia don't even look that powerful when viewed from a third-person perspective.
However, the universe has its own tier system. For example, the Draconic Deus universe is categorized as a 4-Dimensional (4D) Structure.
This is because Draconic Deus encompasses many Mythological Worlds (such as Asgard, Olympus, Biblical Heaven, and the Underworld) that are spatially and temporally separate from one another, yet bound within a single temporal continuity.
However, the universe where Thanatos fights is in an 8-Dimensional Structure. Or, in other words, the 8th dimension!
The structure of that universe lies far beyond conventional concepts of space-time, where the laws of physics and the possibilities of reality are folded along eight spatial axes.
A single planet in this 8th dimension possesses such a massive spatial matrix density that it contains energy equivalent to the entire hierarchy of dimensions below it. If a strike with the same amount of 8D energy were unleashed in a lower-dimensional universe—such as Draconic Deus, for example—the energy surge would be uncontainable. Such an attack would be sufficient to destroy, erase, and bring down the entire fabric of the dimensional structure in that universe.
Roughly speaking, that is how powerful Thanatos is now.
She is now different from who she was in the original work. All to alter her original destiny and that of the other three Machine Gods. Deus Ex Machina, which initially focused only on conducting experiments within their own universe, now focuses on invading other universes and gathering data from them to evolve.
It has been more than thirty-five years since they began doing that—specifically, shortly after she attained a higher level of consciousness and learned of her own future. In the process, Thanatos and the other three Machine Gods have evolved countless times.
They have become so powerful that it is impossible for the creatures they created to defeat them—especially not just because one of them is a protagonist.
The other Machine Gods would not betray her either, just as they were not influenced by a protagonist in the future she had foreseen.
Thanks to her apostle... Her memories of many franchises (including her own) from higher dimensions are a treasure to her.
She is also the key to unlocking the higher evolution she wishes to achieve. This is an experiment, but she's confident the chances of success are quite high. Before doing so, she had even conducted extensive research and consulted a goddess in this universe who happened to be a friend of her.
She had once asked her how to raise a man to be a partner who would never betray her, without resorting to things like brainwashing. After all, she wanted to raise that man to be her equal or even superior to her and the other machine goddesses. Brainwashing probably wouldn't last forever.
The things that silly woman said gave her an idea. It also required her to hone her acting skills.
As she thought about that, a light flickered in Thanatos's eyes for just a moment. She looked at Naia as if she were a specimen.
"....!!" Naia got goosebumps.
But more than that, she felt humiliated.
"Is that so?"
She hadn't lost yet.
A cunning idea crossed her mind.
With her mind, she moved the moon in the distance so that it shifted toward a planet that happened to be not far from them.
Deep within that planet, in its innermost depths, there was a temple that sealed away a Titan God. However, it wasn't her she wanted to use to fight the woman in front of him.
The one she had in mind was the guardian of the deep-sea temple and the protector of that planet. One of the Divine Beast races that even the holy gods and outer gods feared!
"You want to use Leviathan to fight me?"
"H-How did you—!?"
Naia's eyes widened.
Thanatos didn't change her expression. She said indifferently, "That's a great idea. Go ahead; that creature has a nice set of data for us to take home."
Thanks to her apostle!
From her memories, she knew this universe was part of a series titled Full Clearing: Another World Under a Goddess with Zero Believers.
Because of that, she knew a lot of information about the powerful characters here. That gave her an advantage, just as it had when she invaded many other universes in the past. Even if her opponents were two or three times stronger than her, as long as she knew what abilities they possessed, she could prepare and perform instant analysis to make herself immune to their abilities.
For the Machine Gods, an information advantage can increase their win rate in battle, even when facing beings stronger than themselves.
Of course, there were times when they were unable to defeat someone because the difference in their levels was too great in the past. However, as long as they've gathered plenty of data on their opponents during the battle, that's good enough and can help them improve in the future.
Take Anos Voldigoad, for example—he's a troublesome opponent. Even though the Deus Ex Machina ganged up on him, he can travel to the future and the past. He even created many new timelines in which he soundly defeated them. But in some timelines, they managed to injure him so severely that he was forced to use his most powerful Magic Eye and his favorite sword.
Although it was terrifying, Deus Ex Machina managed to survive and obtain a lot of data from Anos. When they felt they had enough, they left without saying goodbye.
Anos: What's with those women? They suddenly attacked me and just left like that?
Not only to strengthen herself, Thanatos also turned that data into a Character Card, and took the time to refine it with other data she possessed so that its power wouldn't fall short of Anos's true power.
Who wants to?
Eiji: Me! Me! Me!
Thanatos: Of course, this is for you, host.
Naia stared at the woman in front of her as if she'd just realized there was a goddess even crazier than she was.
Still, she would do as she was told.
"You'll regret this!"
Thanatos was speechless.
Just as the moon was about to enter the planet's atmosphere, the planet's surface—which was almost entirely covered in water—suddenly exploded.
*BOOOOM!"
From the planet the moon was about to collide with, the figure of a creature began to emerge. Its body was so extraordinarily large that its head alone reached a height that surpassed the clouds. Half of its body was submerged in the deepest part of the ocean, but it was quickly pulled to the surface as well.
Its body was covered in extremely strong protective scales. As an ancient mythological sea dragon, it possessed God Eyes capable of seeing the future beyond the predictive abilities of high-level demons like Astaroth.
Leviathan measures approximately 750 kilometers; its roar doesn't merely sound like water crashing down, but like a natural apocalypse
*UUUUUNGGGGHHHH!!*
Any human who saw this creature would surely be so terrified they'd faint. Even Naia, who saw Leviathan from outer space, couldn't help but tremble slightly.
If it weren't for the woman in front of her, she herself wouldn't dare to lure Leviathan out from such a close distance.
Naia glanced at Thanatos and wondered if there was any fear on her face?
Instead, the woman gave a faint smile. She even said, "Good data."
What data?
Is there something wrong with your head!?
You're looking at a Leviathan who's clearly not happy about being disturbed. It's going to kill both of us!
*BAAAMMM!*
Leviathan stretched out one hand—big enough to grasp the moon—and pushed it away from the planet it inhabited before glancing at the two women not far from it.
Naia froze.
She wanted to run away, but one of Thanatos's mechanical hands gripped her body.
"Let me go! I don't want to stay with you any longer—Aaaaahhhh!"
Red electricity surged from Thanatos's mechanical hand. Naia screamed in pain as she was electrocuted by electricity that was no longer measured by physical voltage (such as 1 billion or 1 trillion volts), but rather based on the conceptual nature and origin of that electrical energy.
The electricity released by Thanatos was capable of killing the Outer Goddess. In just a few seconds, Nyarlathotep's—or Naia's—body began to char, developed numerous cracks that glowed with divine light, and shattered into pieces in an explosion muffled by the Mechanical God's hand.
One of the Great Goddesses was slain by Thanatos.
"You are no longer needed. However, I have saved your data, and it will live on with me."
She said this while glancing at Leviathan, who was giving her a hostile look. As if knowing that it intended to attack it, it lashed its massive tail out into space.
Despite its massive size, its physical attack was extremely fast—at least ten times the speed of sound.
However, Thanatos moved even faster. She evaded the attack with a speed that transcended space and time. As a being from a higher dimension than Leviathan, her speed was naturally far superior.
Especially when she's serious.
"....!!"
Leviathan's pupils contracted; its God Eyes were operating at full capacity to see into Thanatos's future and predict her attacks.
Even so, it couldn't see where or how she would attack it.
That should be impossible!
Even the Holy Gods and Titan Gods still had futures it could see with its own eyes.
But this goddess—
*SLASH! SLASH! SLASH! SLASH!*
The figure of Thanatos, who had briefly vanished, reappeared in her previous position. The sword in her hand hummed with terrifying intensity.
At that moment, countless red slashes nearly covered Leviathan's entire body. Even its incredibly strong scales were unable to protect it from those attacks.
"UNNNNNNGAAAAHHHH!"
A painful roar erupted from Leviathan's mouth, and its blood spurted like rain, drenching the sea below.
Osiris, Odin, and Hokuto, who had been watching the battle for a long time, weren't surprised at all.
They knew just how powerful their leader, Thanatos, was.
If she hadn't been collecting data, that enormous sea dragon would have been reduced to mincemeat in an instant.
"The ability to predict the future as far as a 5- or 6-dimensional being can, using God Eyes, physical strength, and the power of your scales... This data is acceptable. Do you have anything else impressive to show me? Let me see it."
In outer space, Thanatos's figure was still as beautiful as it had been before he fought anyone in that universe. Her white dress and skin were not blemished in the slightest.
Her beautiful voice had a machine-like consistency.
She looked at Leviathan with the same gaze she'd used when looking at Naia.
In the face of her brightly shining blue eyes, the creature was nothing more than an interesting specimen she was studying and turning into data in her mind.
Thanatos was originally an artificial intelligence (AI) program created by human scientists in the past. This program was designed to seek "perfection and order." Over time, the program evolved beyond the limits of human technology, attained a high level of consciousness, and transformed into the Machine God.
Because her form is based on cosmic data, she can continue to evolve simply by adding more data for her own body to absorb.
She holds full authority over the laws of the dimension. Her power is drawn directly from the structure of her universe (the Masou Gakuen HxH universe); she acts as both the creator and the enforcer of multidimensional law. Her energy is so massive that if she were destroyed, the entire dimensional structure of her universe—which has now reached the scale of Infinite Dimensions/Hyperversal—could face total annihilation.
Eiji: Is my Sugar Mommy really that powerful!?
Leviathan has no idea just how vast the power gap is between it and the goddess it's fighting.
However, it is very intelligent and understood her words. It was both angry and humiliated.
Do you want to see what else I can do to kill you? Sure!
"SRING! SRING! SRING!*
From the corner of Deus Ex Machina, Leviathan's scales began to glow and float before transforming into a creature known as an angel or archangel.
Their numbers reached tens of millions.
Each of them wielded a spear and radiated energy no less powerful than that of the Holy Gods.
The angels flew at the speed of light and attacked Thanatos.
"So this is the best you can do? All right. Your contribution ends here."
Leviathan was on the verge of coughing up blood.
Did she also look down on its angelic army?
Before it could think that Thanatos was too confident, the woman reached out her hand toward the angels and itself.
*BEAAAMMM!!*
A beam of red light mixed with lightning shot from her palm. The attack engulfed all the angels and the upper half of Leviathan's body. It also shattered outer space, disrupting the 8D spatial matrix over an area of hundreds of billions of light-years.
One of the Divine Beasts in the universe was dead, the remaining half of its body sinking into the ocean of the planet where it lived.
This shocked a Titan God who was sealed within the planet. She did not witness the battle directly, but she had sensed the terrifying energy fluctuations beforehand.
Leviathan's energy fluctuations—or signs of its life—vanished.
"Unbelievable! Who is this mighty being capable of killing Leviathan? Did he do it to free me from this place? My hero has arrived! I'm free! I'm finally free! Hehehe!"
A beautiful, childlike voice echoed through the deep sea temple. The planet itself is actually called Planet Noah.
That means the Titan god or goddess sealed inside that planet is none other than Noah!
She is the youngest and most beautiful goddess in the Divine Realm.
The Titan gods are imprisoned and sealed in special places that only gods can visit. But Noah is different; she is imprisoned only in the Deep Sea Temple, a place that can be visited by ordinary humans. The seal on her power will be lifted on the condition that her followers or apostles go to the Deep Sea Temple themselves and defeat the leviathan guarding the place—a task impossible for ordinary humans. This is also a way to drive her into despair and make her agree to marry Jupiter, who is lusting after her.
Noah has shimmering silver hair and sapphire-like eyes. Her skin is fair and pure. Her body still has a slightly childlike quality, yet remains charming and enchanting.
With such an appearance, she could actually drive any human who saw her mad with lust. Jupiter, the King of the Gods, was even madly in love with her.
Feeling the seal on her power vanish, Noah's eyes sparkled. Her divine power, which she hadn't felt in a long time, surged from her body.
"My power...! Hehe. Let's see who's been helping me—I need to thank them! If it's a human, I'll make them my apostle or my personal servant! It'd be even better if it were a man!"
Outside the planet's atmosphere.
Thanatos has returned to the side of the other three Machine Gods.
"There's a god on that planet, and it looks like he's planning to approach us. Thanatos, you've already monopolized the last two prey. This time, the prey is mine!" Odin said stubbornly, a hint of pleading in her eyes.
Before Thanatos could answer,
Hokuto also said, "Nooo! That god is mine, and she's very weak. Just give her to me! I need to get some new data before I go home so I can feel happy!"
"Shorty, stop trying to snatch my prey!"
"Odin, I'm the one who should be saying that to you!"
The two began arguing again.
Thanatos fell silent.
Osiris glanced at Noah, who was enveloped in golden light and flying out of the planet. Judging by the joyful and slightly silly expression on her face, she didn't seem to have come to fight.
"Odin, Hokuto, it looks like the prey you're after hasn't shown up yet."
"Huh?" Odin and Hokuto looked displeased.
Their gazes were fixed on Noah.
Thanatos also turned her head and said, "She's not our prey."
But Noah is one of the heroines.
In this timeline, she hasn't met the protagonist yet or made him her apostle.
Before she falls in love with the protagonist, why not give her to her host as a reward?
"…!" Noah didn't know why.
She began to regret rushing over to those four women she didn't know.
The way they were looking at her made her feel a little uncomfortable.
...
A/N: Actually, I intended to make her even stronger than that. In this chapter, that point doesn't seem to have come across very well because, even though her universe itself is at the Hyperversal level, that doesn't mean her combat power is at that level. Even the extremely powerful Anos didn't create his own universe, and it's unknown what level his universe would be at if he had. Miss System's combat power will still be revealed gradually in the future.
And since the battle between Deus Ex Machina and Anos took place in the past, the current Thanatos is certainly on a whole other level. Ah, there's also a difference in the rate at which time passes for her and Eiji. An explanation of that will have to wait until the future.
