Bai Xiaosheng and his companions, Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying, left Petyang Company. After requesting a car, they were driven towards the airport. The driver chose a route through a slum area due to traffic, which turned out to be a dangerous choice when their vehicle was blocked by an MPV. Men emerged from the MPV, some armed with machetes and others with rifles, revealing themselves as robbers.

A sliver of apprehension flickered within Lin Weiwei as she observed Bai Xiaosheng.

"Drive, let's reverse out," Bai Xiaosheng instructed the chauffeur.

However, the driver silenced the engine instead, voicing his concern, "Sir, I implore you, don't. They only seek currency. If we make a move, they might retaliate, and that would be perilously risky!"

The driver remained resolute in his refusal to budge.

"Perhaps I should venture forward to investigate?" Lei Ying proposed.

His keenest interest lay in the two antiquated, rod-like firearms.

"Let's bide our time..." Bai Xiaosheng had barely uttered these words when a sudden clamor erupted from behind.

He swiveled his head, peering out the rear window, his eyes narrowing slightly before he shook his head, "We can no longer retreat!"

Two vehicles had entered from the concealed rear of the alley, sealing off their escape route!

Six burly men disembarked from the second automobile, imposing figures of gargantuan stature, their appearances a stark contrast of dark and fair complexions. Each brandished a baseball bat, exuding an aura of malevolence.

Yet, Bai Xiaosheng's gaze wasn't fixed upon them; his attention was riveted to the car from which no one had yet emerged.

Within the rear confines of that particular vehicle, a solitary figure was indistinctly discernible.

For an average individual, discerning clarity from such a distance would prove challenging. However, with the aid of Red Lotus, Bai Xiaosheng's visual acuity was nothing short of extraordinary.

Irrespective of how meticulously that individual remained concealed, Bai Xiaosheng possessed the ability to perceive them.

"It is he," Bai Xiaosheng couldn't suppress his utterance, "I've only encountered his likeness in photographs until now."

"And who might that be?" Lin Weiwei inquired, her curiosity piqued.

Lei Ying also turned his attention towards Bai Xiaosheng.

Without reservation, Bai Xiaosheng imparted the information, "It's Cilio, the very individual we've never truly confronted face-to-face, the one we left in such a disheveled state before."

The driver, who had been slumped against the steering column, jolted upright in surprise, his attention snapping to the rear.

With Bai Xiaosheng's vehicle serving as the focal point, the party who had intercepted their forward path began to advance, and concurrently, the formidable men who had emerged from the rear also commenced their approach.

Both factions directed their attention towards Bai Xiaosheng's car. Given the confined nature of the alley, which obstructed clear sightlines, it was only at this precise moment that both groups became aware of each other's presence.

A shared sense of astonishment caused both groups to halt their advance abruptly.

Within the subsequent vehicle, the sole occupant was, as expected, Cilio. Having arrived at Petyang Company ahead of schedule, he had shadowed Bai Xiaosheng's automobile, anticipating an opportune moment when their car ceased movement. To his surprise, he discovered an entirely separate contingent positioned ahead.

Their sheer numbers, coupled with the presence of firearms, sent a ripple of fear even through Cilio.

Cilio's vehicle found itself ensnared within the alley's confines, rendering any immediate retreat impossible.

Furthermore, having already committed to this location, and with the distinct possibility that Bai Xiaosheng had identified them, Cilio felt an undeniable urge to confront him rather than simply depart, lest a sense of unresolved frustration linger.

"That Bai Xiaosheng must have amassed a considerable store of misdeeds, leading someone to seek retribution. We have no quarrel with them. Perhaps we can negotiate an opportunity to confront Bai Xiaosheng, and ascertain what incriminating evidence he carries. We need not interfere with each other's objectives!"

Cilio harbored a palpable apprehension regarding a potential clash with this newly encountered group. The presence of firearms placed him at a distinct disadvantage, fueling his unease.

The opposing faction, seemingly perceiving that they were not considered adversaries, dispatched a representative.

In synchronized fashion, each side dispatched an individual. These two emissaries converged at the front of Bai Xiaosheng's vehicle, perched atop the hood, and commenced a hushed exchange.

Bai Xiaosheng and his companions observed this peculiar parley with no small amount of amusement.

The driver, however, nervously continued to swallow, his gaze fixed on the retreating figures outside.

"Were all these individuals dispatched by Mr. Cilio?!" the driver blurted out, his voice laced with anxiety. "I am familiar with his name! Was he not... sidelined? He must harbor a grievance, which is why he has come! Sir, we must not provoke them; we should accede to their demands, whatever they may be."

This driver demonstrated an unexpected depth of knowledge, even venturing to offer counsel to Bai Xiaosheng on the appropriate course of action.

"They are not allied, yet their presence here is for the same objective," Bai Xiaosheng replied with a smile, raising the briefcase he held.

"Might we not simply capitulate and toss it over from the front?" the driver ventured cautiously.

Bai Xiaosheng found the suggestion amusing. "Regrettably, my intention is to yield it to no one, for it possesses a unique significance."

"Please, refrain from jesting; our safety is paramount!" the driver pleaded, his voice trembling, "It is merely a collection of documents, is it not?!"

"You are mistaken in that assessment," Bai Xiaosheng countered with a gentle smile directed at the driver. "This is no mere collection of documents; it serves as bait."

Bait?

The driver appeared utterly bewildered by his words.

"The elaborate route you so helpfully recommended has effectively gathered them all in one place," Bai Xiaosheng remarked with a knowing smile.

A flicker of discomfiture crossed the driver's features.

The two negotiators, previously engaged in discussion before the car, seemed to have reached a consensus. They turned back, casting menacing glares towards Bai Xiaosheng's vehicle and its occupants.

Following that, the two parties retreated to their designated areas, giving the signal for their respective teams to advance cautiously. This temporary truce was established between them! Cilio, observing from the back of his vehicle, was ecstatic upon receiving the update. He surged forward, resting his forearms on the front seat's back, his gaze fixed intently through the windshield. He eagerly anticipated witnessing the extent of Bai Xiaosheng's misfortune. Before the two factions could fully close the distance, the passenger side doors of Bai Xiaosheng's car, excluding the driver's, swung open sequentially. Meanwhile, the driver appeared completely disoriented, slumped over the steering wheel as if lost in a daze. Emerging from his vehicle, Bai Xiaosheng casually rested an arm on the car door. A smile played on his lips as he surveyed the individuals positioned both before and behind him. He retrieved a briefcase from his car, placing it deliberately atop the vehicle's roof. "Everyone!" Bai Xiaosheng's voice rang out as he scanned the gathered crowd. The advancing groups abruptly halted their movements, casting wary and inquisitive glances towards Bai Xiaosheng.
