Vincent decides to betray Tike and cooperate with Bai Xiaosheng, believing this will bring him the greatest profit. He misjudges the situation, confident in his business acumen. Vincent then meets with Bai Xiaosheng and arranges a private discussion, intending to reveal Tike's plans.

Lin Weiwei understood and promptly fell silent.

Within the meeting room, apart from Bai Xiaosheng, only Vincent remained.

Vincent leaned forward slightly, lowering his voice as he addressed Bai Xiaosheng, "Mr. Bai, with such youth and talent in your group, do you not encounter any jealousy or dislike from others?"

Bai Xiaosheng's sharp gaze immediately grasped Vincent's underlying meaning. Without revealing his thoughts, he responded, "Our group is indeed filled with talent. I am truly nothing special. However, perhaps because of my age, some of my actions may not align with others' perspectives, so it's not surprising to face some criticism."

Bai Xiaosheng's reply, both modest and subtly evasive, led Vincent to believe he was reluctant to speak directly.

"Mr. Bai, when you were in Africa with the Huaxia Business Group, discussing business, you must have overshadowed someone in your group's Africa division, thereby impacting their interests, correct?" Vincent pressed further.

Bai Xiaosheng met Vincent's gaze with a slight smile, replying, "I'm not entirely sure I understand your meaning."

Vincent, choosing not to prolong the indirectness, stated plainly, "To be candid, the guest I just met is the executive president of your Zhenbei Group's Africa division—Mr. Tike!"

"It's him!" Bai Xiaosheng exclaimed with feigned "surprise" upon hearing the name.

As Bai Xiaosheng voiced his surprise, a slight crease appeared between his brows.

"Indeed, it is him!" Vincent interpreted Bai Xiaosheng's expression as "wariness" and "vigilance" towards Tike, further solidifying his suspicions.

Regaining his composure, Bai Xiaosheng smiled and inquired, "What a coincidence, Mr. Tike also came to visit you. Is he also here... to discuss cooperation?"

At this juncture, Bai Xiaosheng's display of "indifference" conveyed an impression of him pretending to be magnanimous.

"He came to steal your business, Mr. Bai!" Vincent decided to offer Bai Xiaosheng a seemingly helpful insight, seeing his composed reaction. He naturally desired to make the situation appear more severe.

Otherwise, how would Bai Xiaosheng "appreciate" his intervention?

"Mr. Vincent, you might be exaggerating. Although Mr. Tike and I are from the same group, we belong to different divisions. Both of us are here to discuss cooperation with you. Ultimately, whichever party secures a beneficial outcome is a blessing for the group. As for who reaches an agreement, that naturally depends on your judgment. Between him and me, there is no such thing as stealing business," Bai Xiaosheng stated with a laugh.

The more Vincent attempted to escalate the conflict, the more Bai Xiaosheng endeavored to diffuse it.

Observing this, Vincent grew somewhat impatient and dropped a significant revelation, "Mr. Bai, you are still unaware, Mr. Tike's objective was to persuade me against cooperating with you and instead, to collaborate with him! Furthermore, he claimed he could arrange for several companies to secretly funnel benefits to our company as an incentive for my agreement!"

As he spoke, Vincent intently watched Bai Xiaosheng's reaction.

"Oh, is that so!" Bai Xiaosheng's brow immediately furrowed upon hearing this.

This time, Bai Xiaosheng's reaction was a blend of genuine surprise and calculated performance, his mind swirling with uncertainty.

The executive president of the group's Africa division, Mr. Brown, had actually dispatched his top subordinate to sabotage his cooperation talks? This internal conflict seemed unending! Bai Xiaosheng was growing weary of it.

Given that the business group was currently situated here, numerous observers were present, making it far from difficult for them to track his movements if desired.

The crucial question was, how could the executive president from the Africa division dare to voice such intentions openly to an outsider, solely to deal with him?

Was Mr. Brown aware of this occurrence, or had he explicitly authorized it?

Were they so brazen in their actions, operating with impunity, or had they simply become excessively audacious, disregarding all established rules!

The more Bai Xiaosheng contemplated the situation, the colder he felt internally.

Noticing Bai Xiaosheng's silence and the grim expression that settled on his face, Vincent experienced a flicker of secret satisfaction.

Only if Bai Xiaosheng recognized the gravity of the matter would he truly appreciate Vincent's magnanimity.

"Did Mr. Tike truly convey this to you!" Bai Xiaosheng eventually broke his silence, turning to ask Vincent.

"There is no mistake, he is currently resting in another meeting room. I have neither agreed nor refused his proposal. However, I deeply disdain such underhanded tactics aimed at undermining colleagues!" Vincent declared with conviction, his voice resonating. He then patted his chest reassuringly, stating, "I would never consent to such practices! Moreover, I genuinely anticipate our cooperation with Mr. Bai. How could I possibly relinquish such an opportunity for meager gains!"

Vincent seized this moment to cultivate a positive image with Bai Xiaosheng.

"Mr. Vincent's sense of justice is greatly appreciated," Bai Xiaosheng replied with evident approval. "Rest assured, I will give our cooperation the utmost attention, and we can establish a strategic alliance."

Bai Xiaosheng's Global Business Alliance plan, of course, required "allies" within the African business landscape as well. The powerful Winsmo Group, eager for collaboration with old Vincent, was a crucial inclusion in his strategic vision.

Upon hearing Bai Xiaosheng's words, old Vincent was filled with joy. He immediately declared with solemnity to Bai Xiaosheng, "I will return right now and firmly reject Mr. Tike's request, even if it means severing all future cooperation with them!"

Old Vincent's initial disclosure of his potential "sacrifice" only intensified Bai Xiaosheng's feeling of "guilt" towards him.

However, just as old Vincent was about to turn and depart, Bai Xiaosheng called out to him.

"Mr. Vincent, there is no need to rush your refusal to Mr. Tike just yet. I still require your assistance." Bai Xiaosheng stated.

A look of surprise crossed old Vincent's face as he turned back to face Bai Xiaosheng. He then smiled and replied, "If you need anything at all, please do not hesitate to ask!"

Bai Xiaosheng returned his smile, a subtle hint of alternative intentions apparent within it.

...

About fifteen minutes later, old Vincent emerged from the room, a smile gracing his features as he glanced at Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying waiting outside, before departing with a brisk pace.

Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying exchanged bewildered glances before quickly returning to the meeting room.

"What is happening... Xiaosheng, why does Mr. Vincent seem so... elated?" Lin Weiwei inquired, a note of confusion in her voice.

Lei Ying also wore a perplexed expression.

Bai Xiaosheng appeared to be lost in thought. When Lin Weiwei's question broke his reverie, he responded immediately, "It's a lengthy story, and this isn't the most convenient place to discuss it. However, there's a new development. Weiwei, Lei Ying, I'll need to ask you to reconnect with the audit team you previously worked with. Another significant player awaits us!"

Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying looked at each other, then turned their gaze to Bai Xiaosheng. In unison, they declared, "Don't worry, leave it to us!"

In a separate meeting room, Tike was observed pacing leisurely. He would occasionally peruse the magazines displayed on a shelf or stand by the expansive floor-to-ceiling windows, gazing out at the cityscape with a relaxed demeanor.

From time to time, his attention would drift to his wristwatch.

At this precise moment, a knock sounded at the meeting room door, and an individual entered.

"My apologies for the wait, Mr. Tike!" the visitor announced in a cheerful tone, revealing himself to be old Vincent.

Tike turned from his vantage point by the window, offering a smile to old Vincent. "Mr. Vincent, you have finally returned. I have been anticipating your arrival for some time."

"Please, my apologies, my apologies!" old Vincent exclaimed with hearty laughter as he approached.

Observing old Vincent's expression, Tike inquired with a smile, "It appears you have accepted my proposal."

"Can Mr. Tike discern that from my rather evident expression?"

Old Vincent feigned surprise, implicitly confirming Tike's assumption.

The portly Tike chuckled. "Do you happen to know what my major was during my university years?"

The question seemed to come out of the blue, prompting old Vincent to merely shrug.

"Psychology," Tike revealed with a smile. "Furthermore, I pursued self-study in a course on micro-expression analysis, graduating at the very top of the class."

"I am familiar with psychology, but this other... micro-expression thing, what is it exactly?" old Vincent asked, a hint of confusion coloring his tone.

It sounded like something novel and intriguing, a subject unfamiliar to him.

"It's nothing of consequence, merely a supplementary course," Tike responded with a nonchalant smile before steering the conversation back to its primary objective. "Mr. Vincent, have you agreed to my proposal to engage in cooperation with me?"

Old Vincent's eyes blinked, a spark of cunning glinting within them. He smiled and stated, "Mr. Tike, you must inform me of the benefits your chosen companies will offer me. Otherwise, if I am to forfeit a client of such caliber as Bai Xiaosheng, I cannot say I would be particularly willing."

Tike regarded old Vincent with a smile, and after a brief pause of two seconds, he stated calmly—

"Rest assured, that which I have pledged will undoubtedly meet your expectations!"
