Lei Ying confronts Old John and Jenny, revealing a contract related to their "Green Sky" cooperation and threatening them with severe legal action. Despite Jenny's initial defiance, Lei Ying uses psychological tactics, including a hidden recording device and a planted confession, to break her down. When Jenny's defenses crumble, Old John attempts to distance himself from the situation, only to be confronted by Zack, who reveals he has a copy of the contract, exposing Old John's involvement.

Old John was utterly stunned, staring at Zack. He could never have imagined Zack was part of the headquarters' compliance department!

Within the 'Green Sky' company, Zack held a position second only to the top, a trusted confidant of Old John, to whom he often turned for advice on dubious matters.

These schemes, naturally, were Old John's own machinations for personal enrichment, involving dealings with the Deputy Executive Vice President of the Africa region. Old John proceeded with extreme caution, handling all aspects himself. Yet, he had already intended to introduce his trusted aide to the Deputy Executive Vice President.

And now, this very individual was revealed to be... an "undercover agent"!

In that instant, Old John slumped onto the sofa, his heart simultaneously crushed and overcome with dread.

The fabled, all-seeing, "mystical" compliance department had finally made him comprehend the true meaning of fear.

Jenny, too, gazed at Zack with disbelief. This man, who had shown her considerable attention, harbored a hidden side.

Reflecting now, his eagerness towards her undeniably stemmed from ulterior motives.

A cold sweat broke out on Jenny's brow.

"Do you two truly believe we are here to investigate you?" Lei Ying, seated opposite Jenny and Old John, offered a chilling smile. "We haven't the time for such trivialities!"

Lei Ying gestured towards the individual engrossed in downloading videos. "Our purpose is to secure evidence."

Their private discussions and those incriminating contract documents were more than enough to plunge Jenny and Old John into significant trouble.

Not to mention the multitude of evidence Zack had meticulously gathered.

"We are merely informing you to prepare for prosecution," Lei Ying stated, rising to his feet. "We understand your stubborn nature and intellectual fortitude; you won't confess easily. We have no intention of coercion. Adhering to the formal process will be more efficient for all parties. This way, the group will not entertain any leniency or drop charges on certain counts. With the group's legal team's capabilities, imprisonment for a dozen years or so is an unavoidable outcome."

Jenny and Old John's visages turned exceedingly grim, yet they remained silent.

Lei Ying did not appear to anticipate any response. He directed his gaze at Jenny and continued casually, "After serving a dozen years in prison, Miss Jenny, your prime years will have vanished. You will emerge estranged from society, despised by all – an old crone. Your parents may have passed, your siblings will have squandered your inheritance, then shun you like the plague! As for lovers, they will have long since found new affections!"

Jenny's face grew deathly pale, her breathing becoming ragged.

The prospect of prison itself didn't terrify her, but the vision of life post-incarceration was something she found unbearable.

"As for Old Mr. John, you will likely spend the remainder of your days within those walls, awaiting death's release. You have sons and grandsons, yet you will forfeit the chance to relish familial joy with them. During your initial years, they might visit out of consideration for the inheritance you've accrued. Later, as your grandsons mature, they will view you as a disgrace. Your entire family will deem forgetting you the optimal path forward. By then, even when you look ahead, not a single relative will be in sight. Regardless of the wealth you amassed, all it will procure for you in prison is a few packs of instant noodles."

Lei Ying's pronouncements filled Old John's eyes with sheer terror.

It sounded like a descent into the inferno...

Beside him, Zack couldn't help but observe Lei Ying with a sense of covert admiration, even a touch of reverence. "This man appears burly and coarse, yet he possesses an unexpected mastery of psychological tactics and rhetoric. He bypasses logic and emotion, striking directly at their deepest vulnerabilities. Merely listening to him sent shivers down my spine. What was his prior profession to be so adept at dismantling a person's mental defenses?"

"I must learn from this!" Zack silently resolved.

Lei Ying remained standing, an imposing figure hovering over them, exuding an oppressive aura—

"Ah, yes. Are you perhaps thinking that if you weather this night, someone will swoop in to cover your tracks, to rectify matters in the nick of time?" Lei Ying offered a knowing smirk. "Do you even comprehend your standing? To apprehend you, how could there possibly be a lack of meticulous preparation? There are already two hundred individuals, divided into twenty teams, actively conducting operations as we speak, awaiting your missteps. The instant they uncover any irregularity, our operatives will claim the information originated from the two of you. The individuals you serve, are they likely to be suspicious? If they perceive you as traitors, will they rally to your defense with all their might, or will they condemn you to swift ruin?"

The existence of a two-hundred-man team was an outright fabrication, entirely a bluff by Lei Ying.

Yet, to shatter their resolve, one must first strike their weaknesses and then decisively block all avenues of escape.

This course of action was pushing the two individuals into a inescapable predicament. Genuine terror was evident on Jenny and Old John's faces. Lei Ying, seemingly unfazed, continued his pronouncement. "Are you contemplating a self-sacrifice, perhaps hoping that someone will bestow upon your families a substantial sum, enough to ensure their continued prosperity and even your own comfortable future upon release? Abandon such notions. We shall pursue immense compensation from you, arranging for surveillance of your families' and your personal bank accounts, including those held internationally. We will petition the relevant authorities to freeze these assets and impose travel restrictions. At that point, I fear you and your families will be left with nothing but air to consume and wind to drink, your bellies aching with hunger." Zack, alongside the other members of the compliance department present, listened as Lei Ying uttered these ghastly words with an unsettling calm, each of them feeling their hair stand on end and a profound chill coursing through their veins.
