Bai Xiaosheng meets with Hou Yuncheng to discuss business matters, but his plans are interrupted by a call from Ye Liena. Ye Liena, prompted by her friend Melanie, warns Bai Xiaosheng about a woman named Jenny who is traveling to Africa with documents to obstruct cooperation agreements. This information, however, proves beneficial to Bai Xiaosheng, resolving his earlier concerns.

Observing that Bai Xiaosheng initially presented a concern, but after a telephone call, the issue seemingly vanished, Hou Yuncheng, though surprised, did not probe further. He simply offered a warm smile and advised Bai Xiaosheng earnestly, "Should any difficulties arise, please do not hesitate to inform me. Especially as we are traveling abroad, in a foreign land, if you encounter any problems, ensure you communicate them. We, as the leaders of this business delegation, are here to support all you businesspeople."

"Understood," Bai Xiaosheng replied with a nod and a smile.

"Alright, since your concern has been resolved, allow me to share something," Hou Yuncheng gestured to the seat opposite him. "Please, Xiaosheng, have a seat. I must convey all the commendations I’ve received over the past couple of days to you immediately. My ears are nearly worn out from hearing them!"

Following this, Hou Yuncheng relayed, word for word, the high praise and recognition extended by the Naliya government and the two local administrations to Bai Xiaosheng.

Hou Yuncheng articulated with enthusiasm, Lin Weiwei felt bolstered, and even Lei Ying couldn't help but offer a nod of agreement.

Only Bai Xiaosheng, the central figure, remained remarkably composed, as if he were an impartial listener to someone else's narrative.

"My goodness, you truly are something else. Here I am, with a parched throat from talking so much, while you remain steadfast as a mountain, completely unfazed," Hou Yuncheng observed, a mix of amusement and exasperation in his tone.

Bai Xiaosheng offered a shrug and murmured, "I'm merely acting as a businessman would instinctively. I don't believe the high praise from the two local governments is truly deserved, nor do I think my actions were particularly commendable."

Hou Yuncheng rolled his eyes playfully at Bai Xiaosheng, pointing at him and chuckling, "Should I call you modest, or perhaps suggest you have an inadequate sense of accomplishment?"

"Very well," Hou Yuncheng declared, slapping his thigh and rising to his feet. He addressed Bai Xiaosheng, "In any case, I have conveyed what needed to be said. If you feel your accomplishments this time were unremarkable, then moving forward, I ask that you provide more such actions that earn unanimous approval from all parties. It would make me immensely proud as your team leader."

"Now, I must also attend to my own affairs. All of you, please prepare yourselves. We reconvene in the lobby at 2:15 PM, and no later than 2:30 PM, we must depart. The flights will not hold for us," Hou Yuncheng instructed.

"I'm departing," Hou Yuncheng announced, turning to leave.

Bai Xiaosheng and the other two offered him a brief, courteous farewell.

It was only when Hou Yuncheng waved, assuring them it was unnecessary, that the three finally ceased their escort.

As Hou Yuncheng departed, Bai Xiaosheng and his companions returned to their respective rooms to gather their belongings.

Once the door was closed, Bai Xiaosheng disclosed the details of Ye Liena's phone call to Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying.

"How incredibly coincidental that Ye Liena's friend, Melanie, accidentally overheard information concerning Jenny!"

"So, this Jenny actually possesses the very evidence we require! This spares us the arduous task of a painstaking investigation!"

Both Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying expressed surprise and delight simultaneously.

Bai Xiaosheng, however, focused intently on one of Lin Weiwei's remarks, muttering, "Indeed, but this is perhaps a bit too coincidental!"

Having been acquainted with Bai Xiaosheng for many years, Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying were thoroughly familiar with his disposition and manner of speaking. They exchanged a knowing glance instantly.

Lin Weiwei inquired tentatively, "Xiaosheng, what exactly do you mean? Do you suspect Melanie might be unreliable? Or perhaps you believe this information is fabricated?"

After all, Melanie had previously deceived even her own friend, acting under Caroline's directive to target them. Who could guarantee that there wasn't a similar ploy this time?

"The opposing side couldn't have possibly located us so swiftly, nor deduced our focus on Jenny and 'Green Sky,' could they? That would be unfathomably alarming!" Lei Ying stated, his voice heavy with concern.

Even as he voiced this apprehension, if the adversary were indeed the formidable Miss Caroline, Lei Ying firmly believed she possessed such capabilities. In his estimation, she was a woman of terrifying cunning, occupying a position of significant power, with access to an abundance of intelligence resources, rendering her exceptionally difficult to contend with.

In truth, Lei Ying considered that among all the women he had encountered, Caroline's intellect was so razor-sharp that she stood at the very pinnacle.

Bai Xiaosheng shook his head, responding, "A proud individual like Caroline would not employ a pawn for a second time; Melanie likely genuinely overheard the information..."

He left the latter half of his thought unspoken: that a pawn discarded by Caroline could still be unwittingly utilized.

Otherwise, this sheer coincidence would be akin to winning the grand lottery.

While they were here agonizing over the situation, the opposing side had seemingly delivered the crucial evidence directly to them.

If this wasn't a genuine coincidence but rather a deliberate leak by the other party, then what could Caroline possibly be aiming to achieve with such a move?

Could the strategy be to divert their focus towards Jenny, only to then pursue more substantial collaborations elsewhere, essentially constructing a path in the open while secretly circumventing the main obstacle?

Or, is the intention to lure them into investigating Jenny, whose purportedly improper collaboration is, in reality, perfectly reasonable and lawful, thus setting a trap for their pursuers?

If a stratagem is indeed in play, it implies Caroline is aware of their presence. Who could have informed her? Could Jenny have identified them?

Further deductions cannot be made based on the current information; Bai Xiaosheng is not omniscient and cannot make definitive claims.

Honestly, he remains uncertain whether this situation is a genuine coincidence or if he is merely indulging in excessive speculation.

Observing Bai Xiaosheng lost in contemplation, Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying hesitated to interrupt his thoughts.

Eventually, as Bai Xiaosheng refocused his attention, Lin Weiwei inquired cautiously, "Xiaosheng, what course of action should we take? Should we pursue this lead to collect evidence, or should we disregard it and adhere to our original investigative plan?"

Instead of feeling constantly manipulated, it would be wiser to steer clear of such a potential snare.
