Immortality Through Array Formations Chapter 2009 Chapter 966: Mine

The four Golden Core experts had been temporarily incapacitated after their mutual slaughter reached a bloody stalemate.
Young Master Xuan, acting like the proverbial fisherman reaping the spoils, had successfully obtained the Dragon Vein. However, in a move that seemed entirely casual and natural, he handed the Dragon Vein directly over to Mo Hua.
Mo Hua didn't hesitate; he clutched the Dragon Vein tight and bolted. For a moment, the entire battlefield fell into a stunned silence.
Young Master Xuan was beyond livid. His chest tightened with such intense fury that he nearly spat blood, screaming hoarsely, "You brat! I'll kill you!"
Mo Hua only increased his speed. "Stop right there!" Young Master Xuan bellowed.
By now, Mo Hua’s movement was so swift that his figure began to leave blurred afterimages behind. Young Master Xuan’s eyes almost burst from rage. He transformed into a streak of crimson light, drifting like a grotesquely stretched piece of human skin as he pursued Mo Hua with a bizarre and unsettling movement technique.
Mo Hua’s Water Passing Step was specialized for dodging and shifting within small spaces; it was not designed for long-distance sprinting. Furthermore, being only at the late stage of Foundation Establishment, he was at a severe disadvantage regarding his Cultivation level.
Consequently, Young Master Xuan closed the distance within a few breaths. A foul wind erupted as Young Master Xuan, his eyes fierce, reached out with a pale, skeletal hand to seize Mo Hua. Just as the fingers were about to close, a flash of water rippled. Mo Hua dissolved into a mist of vapor and vanished, reappearing several meters away.
Young Master Xuan roared a curse. He attempted to strike again, but at that exact moment, a thunderous wind howled behind him. A pair of massive hammers, carrying immense weight, swung directly toward his skull.
Young Master Xuan ducked to evade the blow, barely catching a glimpse of a sword tip grazing past his face. He swung his blood-colored sword to parry the blade, retreating several steps to dissipate the impact before he could stabilize himself.
When he looked up, two burly figures were already standing guard in front of Mo Hua. It was Fan Jin and Master Gu.
Because their Cultivation inheritance was inferior and their own Magical Treasures were at a disadvantage, they hadn't dared to interfere in the battle between the Late Golden Core and peak stages. Instead, they had kept their focus entirely on Mo Hua.
The way Mo Hua had "seized" the Dragon Vein was so theatrical that even these two had been left in a daze, failing to react immediately. Seeing Young Master Xuan’s relentless pursuit of the boy, they finally stepped in, joining forces to drive the attacker back.
While their Dao Cultivation inheritance might not equal Young Master Xuan’s, they were seasoned veterans of the cultivation world. They were experienced and would not be easily defeated. The two now stood like twin gates, forming a barrier between Mo Hua and Young Master Xuan.
In terms of raw power, a Foundation Establishment Realm cultivator like Mo Hua was obviously no match for the Golden Core Realm Young Master Xuan. But now that he had protection, he no longer felt the need to flee.
Mo Hua hugged the Dragon Vein, looking at Young Master Xuan with a smile he couldn't quite hide. Young Master Xuan was purple with rage, a hint of disbelief flickering in his heart as he gritted his teeth.
"You didn't fall for my Planting Devil in Taoist Heart?"
Mo Hua shook his head inwardly. This Young Master Xuan was far too green. He still hadn't realized that the issue wasn't whether Mo Hua had fallen for the technique, but that he had fallen for Mo Hua's instead, which had warped his perception and judgment.
At his current level, trying to learn Planting Devil in Taoist Heart was simply ridiculous. If he ever met a true expert, he would be so terrified he wouldn't even recognize himself... but the truth is often painful. Moreover, telling him would only provoke him further, turning him into an irrational, mad dog.
Mo Hua adopted a confused expression. "I'm not sure. I was just muddled for a bit and then woke up, and then you gave me the Dragon Vein."
He put heavy emphasis on the word "gave." It wasn't stolen or robbed; it was a gift. Seeing Mo Hua’s innocent and shameless face, Young Master Xuan looked as if he might grind his teeth into dust.
"Give the Dragon Vein back to me."
"No," Mo Hua said, stuffing the Dragon Vein into his robes. "You gave it to me, so it belongs to me now."
Young Master Xuan felt a murderous hatred, but with Master Gu and Fan Jin protecting the boy, he had no immediate opening. He forced himself to suppress his anger. "Keeping that Dragon Vein is useless to you. Hand it over..."
"Why would it be useless?" Mo Hua questioned.
Young Master Xuan held back his temper and explained patiently, "This is a dragon, and the nature of a dragon is arrogant. It is not something an ordinary person can hope to control. The Great Wilderness Dragon Vein can only be possessed by the descendants of the Great Wilderness royalty. Without the royal bloodline, the inheritance within the Dragon Vein cannot be understood."
"You possess the bloodline of a common cultivator. The Dragon Vein will never acknowledge you, and you will never learn the Great Wilderness inheritance."
Mo Hua looked offended. "Are you looking down on me?"
"It's not about looking down on you..." Young Master Xuan replied. "It is a matter of bloodline. Regardless of how great your ability, insight, or talent is, if you lack the bloodline, it simply won't work. Everything is predestined. You cannot change your birth or your parents, and therefore, you cannot change your bloodline."
"Oh..." Mo Hua muttered.
"Therefore," Young Master Xuan said, softening his tone, "give me the Dragon Vein. This object carries great karma and is of no benefit to you..."
"No," Mo Hua insisted, shaking his head. "Even if it's useless, I'm keeping it. It’s still a Dragon Vein, after all. It’ll make a great collector's item or a family heirloom."
He imagined bringing it home one day to show his parents. He wanted them to know that their son was the one who had snatched a Dragon Vein. Besides, how could it truly be useless? A person who couldn't even cast Planting Devil in Taoist Heart correctly was trying to trick him?
Young Master Xuan was nearly dying of rage. This kid looked like a naive, pretty boy, but he was actually a shameless, stubborn brat. No matter what was said, he couldn't be reasoned with.
Since persuasion failed, he would have to take it by force. Young Master Xuan scanned his surroundings, assessing the state of the room, before turning to Elder Xiong.
"Elder Xiong, help me. Once this is done, when I have cultivated the Mystery Demon Foetus and secured the Dragon Vein, I will grant you the Great Wilderness Dragon Diagram."
The other Late Golden Core experts were all severely wounded. Even the Golden Core Peak expert, Shen Shouxing, had suffered a backlash from the Dragon Vein that crippled his arm, and he was currently occupied with suppressing the wild dragon Qi ravaging his body.
