Ice Age Apocalypse: I Hoard Billions of Supplies Chapter 1691: An Uninvited Guest

Newton’s First Law was an exceedingly strange ability.
It had no offensive power whatsoever. Its only effect was to make a Transcendent’s abilities become unstable for a brief moment.
But when used properly, it could play an extremely crucial role.
Like right now.
As the Mind Ray and Piercing of All Things abilities struck Blood Tide and Nian’s ability shields at the same time, Newton immediately activated First Law.
He had timed it perfectly. Both sides had already suffered significant injuries in the earlier battle, and they had also expended a considerable amount of energy.
At that moment, they were both like taut strings.
Disrupting their ability activation at such a time directly destabilized Blood Tide and Nian’s defensive barriers.
“Boom!!!”
The Mind Ray pierced straight through Blood Tide and Nian’s ability shields, its dazzling golden light slamming directly into them!
Amid the golden radiance, the armor on both men shattered into fragments, leaving their bodies completely exposed beneath Deng Shentong’s Heavenly Dao Star.
It was as if they had fallen into a volcano.
They had not seen the sun for countless years, and their bodies had no factors capable of adapting to intense ultraviolet rays.
Now that they had also been struck, their weakened bodies were doubly unable to withstand the environment around them. They were grievously wounded!
The blood on Newton’s face had not yet dried, and the light from the Atheist in his hand had dimmed as well.
“Cough, cough…”
He lowered his head and suddenly covered his mouth, coughing violently. Several thick streaks of blood trickled through the gaps between his fingers.
Canero, not far away, glanced at him but did not approach.
Blood Tide’s earlier attack had dealt more damage than they had expected. It had injured their internal organs, and their hearts had nearly split open.
After forcing themselves to hold on until now, they were already close to their limits.
Blood Tide and Nian fell toward the ground. Nian used the last of his strength to support them both. Otherwise, a fall from several hundred meters up would have smashed even an Epsilon-class Transcendent into a pulp.
Nian warily watched Newton and Canero in the distance, then looked at the grievously wounded Blood Tide.
He gave a bitter smile.
“This is exactly what I prepared for, isn’t it?”
Blood Tide’s River of Blood had dried up amid the unrelenting fighting. It was the source of his power, and now he was incredibly weak.
Nian was in no better shape.
But he knew that the two opponents still had enough strength to fight. If he had to face them alone while being scorched beneath Heavenly Dao Star, they would both surely die.
“Use my blood!”
Nian suddenly spoke. He raised his right hand, held his fingers together like a blade, and without the slightest hesitation sliced open the artery in his left arm.
Blood Tide did not hesitate either. He immediately drew the blood out of Nian’s body.
The blood of a White Chariot-level Transcendent contained a powerful life essence. Blood Tide’s eyes were filled with ruthless determination. He showed no regard for Nian’s life, draining every last drop of blood from his body in one go!
In less than a second, Nian had been drained completely, reduced to a shriveled corpse.
With this new power, Blood Tide stood up once more. His body had regained enough strength to keep fighting!
“Damn it, you’re so hard to kill!”
Newton lowered his left hand, his palm covered in blood. He and Canero warily watched the enemy before them.
The battle to come would likely decide life or death for real.
Even if they won, they would most likely die alongside him.
“Roar!!!!”
Blood Tide, having killed his deputy, glared with bloodshot eyes and let out an enraged roar. The wind howled fiercely across the battlefield. This time, he truly intended to fight to the death against the two humans before him!
By now, all three had expended a great deal of energy, and their physical condition was poor. If they kept fighting, the only likely outcome was that they would destroy one another.
Canero and Newton were equally grim as they prepared for the final showdown.
But at that moment, the light before Blood Tide’s eyes suddenly changed.
Everything in the space around him seemed to slow down.
Blood Tide looked up in bewilderment. His mental strength, too, was almost completely exhausted.
To his astonishment, he saw snowflakes falling from the sky at a speed so slow it was almost as if they were motionless.
When he looked ahead again, Newton and Canero had vanished without a trace!
“Is this… an illusion?”
Blood Tide immediately understood what was happening, and his heart jolted.
The allied forces had already deployed three Epsilon-class Transcendents to deal with them.
Could there be a fourth?
But four Silver Armor Generals were leading their expedition, and the Gatekeeper of the Underworld had personally joined the fight. The allied forces could not possibly have held anyone back.
Where had this newly arrived Transcendent come from?
He was not the only one. Newton and Canero were also frozen in bewilderment.
They saw the same thing as Blood Tide: snowflakes filling the sky, almost suspended in place. Nothing else was visible, and Blood Tide had disappeared from their sight as well.
“What’s going on? Has a new Transcendent appeared?”
“I don’t know. We don’t know whether they’re friend or foe, so stay alert!”
They stood back-to-back and went on full alert, guarding against an attack from the enemy who had suddenly appeared.
At that moment, in Blood Tide’s field of vision, a figure stepped across the distant snowy ground, walking slowly toward him one step at a time.
The figure was petite and wore a white cloak. Against the snow, its outline was almost impossible to make out.
Blood Tide opened his mouth and roared. Then he forced a thread of blood from his palm, turning it into a blood arrow that shot toward the figure!
The arrow pierced through the silhouette, only to strike empty air. It was all an illusion.
Suddenly, Blood Tide felt a scorching heat envelop his entire body. He looked down and saw that his skin was actually burning!
He could not tell whether this was an illusion or reality. All he knew was that the intense light overhead made it almost impossible to see the world around him.
A gigantic sun blazed above, erupting with dazzling white light and turning the entire world a searing yellow-white!
Blood Tide’s body burst into flames, and he let out an enraged roar.
“This is all fake! You can’t fool me!”
He knew it was an illusion because everything was too far beyond reason.
Even though his nerves felt the pain, he knew his body had not been harmed.
As long as his will was strong enough, as long as he firmly believed that he was unharmed, he would soon break through the illusion!
When that happened, he would kill the illusionist hiding in the shadows!
“Pfft!”
Just as he clung to that thought, a burst of intense pain suddenly erupted in his chest.
He could not see anything. He reached out to feel around and found a hole in his chest large enough to fit an entire fist!
Blood poured out in an unbroken stream, flowing like a brook.
“It’s all fake,”
Blood Tide murmured.
