Zhang Yi clashed with Li Changgong during a high-level meeting, with Zhang Yi asserting his dominance and warning Li Changgong. The focus then shifted to the looming threat of the Gatekeeper of the Underworld, prompting discussions about mobilizing powerful hidden figures like Houtu and Ksitigarbha King. Meng Yuanjun revealed that a global plea for aid had been issued, a decision met with skepticism by Li Changgong but defended by Meng Yuanjun as a necessity against a common enemy.

Shengjing's distress signal was broadcast to the entire world, and it made clear just how critical the situation was.

After all, Huaxu Nation was now one of the most powerful nations on the planet.

If even Huaxu Nation could hardly fend off Mist Valley's assault, then sooner or later, when other nations faced the same crisis, their fates would only be worse.

Though it was a call for aid, Huaxu Nation's attitude was impeccably measured.

Yet the meaning within their words was also crystal clear: now was the time for all major human factions to help one another. No one could guarantee they wouldn't run into trouble themselves next.

And when that time came, Huaxu Nation would likewise lend a hand.

After receiving Huaxu Nation's distress signal, the first to respond was, surprisingly, their old rival of many years, Colombia.

Colombia immediately expressed its willingness to dispatch an elite force to assist Huaxu Nation with its defense.

This was easy to understand.

After all, they too had suffered grievous losses in this war.

Moreover, the Ocean Fleet had by now been all but wiped out.

If they allowed the forces beneath Mist Valley to invade Huaxu Nation, then from that day forth, the entire maritime region of Southeast Asia would be cut off.

They would be forced to abandon their hegemony over the seas.

Whichever angle they considered it from, they had ample reason to join this war against the alien race.

On another front, Colombia's capital, Franklin, had already sent people to reinforce the naval base in Neon.

From there, they could come to observe Huaxu Nation up close and see just how powerful Mist Valley's forces really were, using that intelligence to gauge Colombia's subsequent defensive measures.

...

Freemonts, capital Kallen.

In this nation that revered power, there stood a Pantheon formed by the nation's strongest Transcendents.

When Huaxu Nation's distress signal arrived here, these Transcendents of supreme and exalted status gathered in this place to decide whether to go and provide support.

Upon a throne forged of ice and snow, sharp icicles radiated a bone-piercing chill, the entire hall filled with the cold of the Arctic, the floor covered in a thick layer of frost from the excessively frigid air.

Seated upon the throne was a woman dressed in black battle garb, her hair tied in a ponytail, her face as sharply angled as if carved by a blade.

Freemonts's strongest existence, the Goddess of Winter, Morana.

And upon the two rows of elevated seats below, there sat one powerhouse after another who stood at the apex of Freemonts's Transcendent world.

The one with a great beard, his bald head tattooed with black shamanic talismans, the God of War, Svetovid, watched with an icy expression the thirteenth-rank civil official in the center of the Pantheon.

Zhuhelai, who had come to report the news, straightened his posture and spoke word by word: "Huaxu Nation has sent us a distress call, requesting that we dispatch Transcendents to assist them in resisting the invasion of the Underground Civilization's forces from Mist Valley on Star Island!"

"Whether we go to provide support, we await your judgment."

Morana's gray-blue eyes stared coldly at Zhuhelai, her hands crossed before her, yet she said not a word.

Below, Svetovid was the first to speak: "The Underground Civilization's forces are launching a full-scale invasion? This is a first. Even Huaxu Nation, with its top-tier power, has to seek outside aid. Heh, looks like the trouble is enormous!"

On the other side, a man with his legs crossed, sporting long curly hair and a small black mustache, the God of Fire, Dazhbog, said:

"According to intelligence, they've already repelled the first wave of attack. But they paid a rather heavy price for it!"

He glanced at the others and said mildly: "I don't recommend sending our people. After all, this war is extremely dangerous! Rumor has it Huaxu Nation has already had an Epsilon-class Transcendent killed in battle."

"Besides, our own situation isn't exactly rosy right now. It's inconvenient to go sticking our noses into someone else's affairs."

On yet another side, a youth in a black leather jacket, his white hair stuck up in an exaggerated fashion, spread his hands and remonstrated:

"But if Huaxu Nation to our south has already fallen victim to the Underground Civilization, there's no guarantee the same won't happen to us in the future!"

"Right now we've got enough of a headache dealing with the troubles of the Arctic Sea. If there's an invasion from the south as well, we won't be able to split our forces!"

This black-clad young man who spoke was the Pantheon's God of Darkness, Cernobog.

But Dazhbog said: "Huaxu Nation's strength is formidable. Even if we don't send anyone to aid them, I believe they won't fall so easily! What's more," a dark gleam flashed through his eyes, "between two neighboring great powers, it's inherently difficult to maintain absolute peace. If their power is weakened, it isn't necessarily a bad thing for us."

He lifted his head and looked toward Morana, who had remained silent all this time.

In Freemonts, the most powerful deity was not the Father of All Gods who created all things, nor the Mother of All Gods, but the Goddess of Winter who commanded the frigid winter and could destroy everything with a blizzard.

If one day Xu Chunlei were to see Morana, only then would he understand what Zhang Yi had meant when he said that ice-element Transcendents were the most favored children of this Ice Age.

Morana alone was the one who could deliver the final verdict.

She glanced at the God of Fire, but turned her gaze toward another high throne elsewhere in the hall.

There, a man had remained silent throughout.

He was a man with short brownish-yellow hair, a neatly trimmed full beard, and a build as burly as a polar bear.

His features were unremarkable, and he even appeared somewhat dull-witted. Even as the Pantheon had grown raucous with argument over aiding Huaxu Nation, he simply sat quietly upon his high seat, not speaking a single word.

Morana asked softly: "Alexei, what do you think?"

Hearing Morana's question, the man slowly raised his head.

Alexei Ivanov, codename: God of Thunder Perun.

Everyone turned their gazes toward Alexei as well.

This powerful, honest man had always enjoyed an excellent reputation within the Pantheon.

In both strength and character, he was deeply worthy of respect.

But Alexei merely said, in a slow and unhurried tone: "I think that compared to the nations of humanity, those mysterious and terrifying civilizations that emerged after the apocalypse are the greatest enemy of all."

"Perhaps one day, we too will need aid from Huaxu Nation."

He paused for two seconds here, then continued: "Or perhaps, that day isn't very far off."

Morana's face remained cold, but the gaze within her gray-blue eyes had clearly grown deeper.

The God of Fire was still insistent: "But right now, we have our own problems to deal with! Those strange phenomena appearing in the Far East region still haven't been investigated clearly."

And these words only made Morana's gaze grow resolute.

"Alexei, you will go to Huaxu Nation. This represents our stance."

Upon hearing this, the Pantheon Transcendents below immediately shut their mouths.

What Morana spoke was her decision, and no one was permitted to question it.

And all those who had ever tried to challenge even a sliver of her authority had received extremely brutal lessons.
