Zhang Yi and Deng Shentong discuss plans to retrieve a dragon specimen from Edo City, acknowledging the increased difficulty due to the presence of mysterious powers and the Colombian Ocean Fleet. Zhang Yi suggests requesting reinforcements from other major regions, but Bai Chunyu questions the cost-effectiveness. Zhang Yi expresses concerns about the "Night Parade of One Hundred Demons" and the Colombian fleet, deciding to gather more intelligence before acting.

Zhang Yi propped his chin up with both hands and said calmly, "You mean that Edo City's current strength isn't enough for them to contend with Huaxu Nation's region-level forces. At best, they can only match them."

Yang Xinxin nodded. "From what we can see now, Neon’s offshore remains controlled by the Colombia Ocean Fleet. They won't willingly give up their territory unless they don't yet have the strength to secure the sea."

Zhang Yi nodded in agreement.

"True. If they were truly strong enough, the Transcendents of the Demon-Sealing Court would have acted against us tonight."

"It's strange. The Night Parade of One Hundred Demons seems like a peculiar force. Even the people of the Demon-Sealing Court avoid them at night."

"What exactly is the relationship between the Night Parade of One Hundred Demons and the Demon-Sealing Court?"

Zhang Yi couldn't figure that out. "But one thing is certain: whatever's going on over there has definitely drawn the Demon-Sealing Court's attention. If they team up with the Ocean Fleet, we probably won't have another chance to go to Edo."

"Besides, we still don't know where the Philosophy of the Mind or the Dragon Specimen are located."

Zhou Ke’er looked at Zhang Yi and asked softly, "So, are we giving up?"

Zhang Yi habitually rubbed the back of his left hand with his right, thought for a moment, then answered:

"I don't like fighting without preparation. I won't act rashly until we have enough intelligence."

His gaze shifted toward the guest room.

"Let's see if the Deng family can provide more value!"

He suddenly remembered something and pulled the harvested Seed Human head out of the dimensional space. The head was now completely corpse-like, cold, the blood already dried.

"No head left, definitely dead for good."

Zhang Yi said quietly.

Deng Shentong was staying at Zhang Yi's house tonight. The hastily arranged guest room wasn't bad; it wasn't a slight to the Deng family's heir.

He stood by the floor-to-ceiling window, watching heavy snow drift down, feeling a tangle of thoughts, yet comforted by Zhang Yi being next door.

There was probably no safer place in this world.

But for now, he needed to think carefully about how to handle the current situation.

Bai Chunyu stood behind him and said softly, "Captain, I think Zhang Yi intends to withdraw."

He shrugged. "He's never one to take risks. If he sees no sufficient benefit, he won't help us again."

Deng Shentong folded his arms behind his back, fell silent for a moment, then said, "But we need him!"

"Across the whole Huaxu Nation, the only top-tier combatant who still owes us anything is him."

"Also, looking at the entire Huaxu Nation, only he has the capability to get what we want."

Rushing into Neon is easy, but getting out unscathed requires Zhang Yi.

Bai Chunyu frowned as he considered this.

"He's right. We've already ruffled the wrong bird. The Demon-Sealing Court and the Colombia Ocean Fleet are not easy opponents. One side alone might be manageable, but if they join forces—forget about us, even bringing in more help would likely still be difficult."

"Besides, what we grabbed were only fakes. Where the real one is, nobody knows."

Deng Shentong said, "That's not hard to guess. The Dalangdu Museum's exhibit is still on display, which means the real item is being well kept. As for whose hands it's in, isn't that obvious?"

If I had to say, it would be the high ranks of the Demon-Sealing Court.

Bai Chunyu looked up. "You mean Undying Mountain?"

"Exactly. As long as the item remains in Neon, it'll be there!"

Bai Chunyu gave a bitter laugh. "That's the Demon-Sealing Court's stronghold! Are we supposed to storm Undying Mountain and face Neon’s most elite Transcendent forces head-on?"

"Also, there's the Night Parade of One Hundred Demons, which we still can't figure out. They alone give us a headache!"

"And the offshore Colombia Ocean Fleet, always ready to strike. No matter how you look at it, we can't accomplish this with just our current forces!"

"Unless…"

He paused for half a beat, glanced at Deng Shentong's back, then slowly said, "Report this to Blizzard City's high command, mobilize Blizzard City's entire strength! Then coordinate with other regions to act together."

"But that would escalate it to a national-level war! Once started, it will change the world's balance. Tug one thread and the whole body moves!"

Deng Shentong's fists behind his back tightened subtly.

"With Zhang Yi here, Blizzard City's power needn't be borrowed. Neon doesn't have the Love of Death, so we wouldn't be able to use it first anyway, otherwise it would give other forces an excuse to move."

"As for the Ocean Fleet… maybe there's another way to spread them thin!"

A puzzled expression crossed Bai Chunyu's face.

"If we don't seek help from our superiors, or ask the East China Sea Major Region to help restrain them, how can we distract the Ocean Fleet enough that they can't spare forces for Edo City?"

Deng Shentong didn't answer. He stared out the window into the dark night sky and seemed to glimpse the roaring sea.

He wasn't really seeing it. In this coastal city, the pitch-black night, the howling north wind, and the lifeless world always made people think of the infinite abyss beneath the waves.

"That's a very dangerous choice."

He turned back to Bai Chunyu, his gaze resolute, yet carrying a rare hint of madness.

"But if it must be done, I must act decisively!"

Undying Mountain, Tenshu Palace.

Late at night, Edo was far from peaceful tonight.

Less than half an hour had passed since Zhang Yi and the others left.

The Ultimate Evil Boy sat on the altar; the deity statue on the shrine had already been toppled.

Inside the vast hall, three officers stood and reported everything that had happened tonight to the Ultimate Evil Boy.

Purgatory Star stood at the front, her jet-black pupils flashing with a strange light.

"Lord, we have confirmed the opponent's identity. They are from Huaxu Nation, Jiangnan Region—an Epsilon-class Transcendent, Chaos!"

"Chaos?"

The Ultimate Evil Boy tilted his head and asked lightly, "That guy, is he strong?"

Narumi Soji, leader of the Sword Group, removed the cigarette from his mouth and exhaled a thick white plume.

"Very strong, Lord."

Hearing Narumi Soji say that, the bespectacled Maeda Uichiro pushed up his glasses and looked thoughtful.

"Are you afraid, Narumi?"

Narumi Soji sighed. "There is a strict hierarchy among Transcendents. The gap between Delta and Epsilon is like an impassable chasm! In terms of energy capacity and the strength of abilities, they aren't on the same level!"

"Perhaps only Lord himself can face him one-on-one!"

The Ultimate Evil Boy's grin curled immensely, as if his mouth might split open.

He jumped down from the altar and stood in front of them.

"I really haven't acted in a long time! So, tell me," his gaze swept over the three officers, "in Edo City, does he have a chance to beat me?"

Purgatory Star lowered her eyes and said respectfully, "Absolutely no chance!"
