Wu Di and his companions escape Edo City after a fierce battle, returning to Tianshui City. Back home, Wu Di confronts Deng Shentong about his secret mission to retrieve a Dragon Specimen and the authenticity of a manuscript of Wang Shouren's *Philosophy of the Mind*. Deng Shentong explains the specimen's potential connection to enhancing Transcendent abilities and introduces a girl named Amber who can help Transcendents develop their potential. Wu Di, no longer interested in Amber, becomes intrigued by the Dragon Specimen itself and its potential link to mythical creatures.

Zhang Yi's one sentence made Deng Shentong immediately give him a thumbs-up.

"You really are clever! Actually, I did have that kind of intention."

"Once we get our hands on the dragon specimen, we can study it first. After the research is done, or if we find it has no obvious use, we can also gift it to the dragon clan beneath the Qinling Mountains—that's currently the official plan."

Deng Shentong said excitedly, "Through our investigations over the years, we can sense that they don't harbor any malice toward us humans. So, Shengjing has been trying to find a way to communicate with them!"

"If we can gain help from a more powerful civilization, we might have the chance to make Huaxu Nation the strongest civilized nation in the entire world!"

Zhang Yi smiled faintly. "That's getting a bit too far-fetched. Things that distant are beyond our reach right now. But if it really is a dragon specimen, I would be somewhat interested."

Deng Shentong helplessly spread his hands.

"If we manage to get our hands on it, I'll naturally share the benefits with you. But right now, they've definitely moved the item, and we've already tipped them off. The next moves are going to be very difficult!"

Zhang Yi leaned back on the sofa, closed his eyes and thought for a moment before speaking.

"That's true. If this were in the past, we could simply rely on absolute overwhelming force, charge straight into Edo City, and force Neon's organizations to hand over everything we want!"

"But now, even I can't quite see through Neon anymore."

"If they've really joined forces with other mysterious civilization powers, even we have to tread carefully."

"Not to mention, there's Colombia's Ocean Fleet stationed in Neon's harbor."

Zhang Yi glanced at Deng Shentong and suddenly spoke, "Ask other organizations for reinforcements! Give me one more major region's power, and this can still be done! Preferably the East China Sea Major Region, to use their strong naval force to pin down Colombia."

"The Northwest Major Region would work too. Their Supreme Commander, Li Changgong, has abilities that complement mine, and purely in terms of killing power, his ability is the strongest I've ever seen. If used well, there's even the possibility of crossing a massive ability index gap to take down an enemy!"

Bai Chunyu rested his chin on his hand, frowning. "But that way, the cost-effectiveness is too low! Our targets are only the Philosophy of the Mind and the dragon specimen. It's not worth mobilizing the power of two major regions."

He smiled as he looked at Zhang Yi. "Seeking your help was originally about sneaking in quietly, preferably stealing the items back without alerting them."

Zhang Yi spread his hands. "There's no chance for stealth now! So what are you planning to do, give up the operation?"

Deng Shentong took a deep breath, his gaze firm as he said, "Absolutely not!"

Of course not—this was his only current chance to advance to the Epsilon-class. Even if the hope was slim, compared to obtaining a God Essence, the possibility of getting a dragon specimen was much greater.

"That's our Huaxu Nation's national treasure, how could we let little Neon have it cheap!"

Deng Shentong stared at Zhang Yi urgently, as if afraid he would back out.

Meanwhile, Zhang Yi sat on the sofa, beginning to weigh the pros and cons.

"When things are brought out into the open, they're never as easy to handle."

Of course, for him, the risk wasn't very high. Even if he couldn't defeat the combined forces of the Demon-Sealing Court and the top Transcendents of the Colombia Fleet, he could still easily retreat.

But there was one thing he wasn't reassured about.

Edo City's Night Parade of One Hundred Demons—what exactly was that?

If it really was a product of a mysterious civilization, how strong was that civilization's power?

With insufficient intelligence, Zhang Yi didn't dare act rashly.

"It's getting late. Let's rest for today! I'll give this matter some serious thought. But you, Deng Shentong, need to step up and gather more intelligence."

"What I'm most concerned about is the Night Parade of One Hundred Demons and the reaction of the Colombia Fleet."

Zhang Yi said to Deng Shentong.

Deng Shentong breathed a huge sigh of relief—at least Zhang Yi hadn't directly refused.

"Alright! I understand."

Yang Siya and Zhou Haimei prepared a lavish dinner and sent it over to Deng Shentong's group.

After Zhang Yi finished eating, he called Yang Xinxin and Zhou Ke'er to his room.

The few of them sat on the sofa, beginning to discuss the aftermath of this matter.

"What do you all think? Should we just give up?"

Zhang Yi tossed the topic out directly.

"The situation is unclear. I don't think we should take risks."

Yang Xinxin took a sip of hot milk and asked Zhang Yi with a smile, "Brother, what exactly are you worried about?"

Zhang Yi voiced his concerns.

"Colombia's fleet. And the power behind the Night Parade of One Hundred Demons!"

Transcendents might dominate the world, but they weren't invincible. It had been a few years since he last dealt with Colombia's fleet, and their strength had definitely increased tremendously by now.

After all, they were the most powerful nation in the world in terms of overall strength before the apocalypse, leading the world in both military might and technology.

If they could create a Cadillus, they could certainly create more bio-warriors.

Zhou Ke'er slightly furrowed her beautiful brows and murmured, "Neon is such an eerie nation! It makes people not want to go near it."

"But, eeriness doesn't equal power!"

Yang Xinxin spoke up.

"Xinxin, what do you think?"

Zhang Yi leaned back on the sofa, looking at Yang Xinxin.

Yang Xinxin said, "Brother, Colombia's Ocean Fleet is still stationed in Neon's harbor, right?"

Zhang Yi nodded.

"Of course. From the last century up until today, they've always been there."

Yang Xinxin: "And what about the power of the Ocean Fleet?"

Zhang Yi said, "As Colombia's strongest fleet, its military power can match that of one of Huaxu Nation's major regions."

Yang Xinxin smiled. "If that's the case, at least it proves one thing."

She raised a pale, slender finger and slowly said, "Even if Neon has undergone some unusual changes, they still don't have the ability to drive the colonizers off their own land."

"This alone is basically enough to judge the true strength level of the Demon-Sealing Court."

Yang Xinxin's analysis instantly snapped Zhang Yi and Zhou Ke'er out of their shock from the Night Parade of One Hundred Demons.

What Yang Xinxin said was exactly right!

Edo City, which seemed terrifying beyond belief, had left everyone deeply shaken.

The powerful hundred demons, the three Ghost Kings who had all reached the Epsilon-class level, and none of them could be completely killed.

Plus the hundreds of thousands of Seed Humans that would activate at night.

Anyone who fell into Edo City would feel like they had entered a ghost realm.

But setting aside humanity's fear of the unknown and simply analyzing the combat power of Edo City—was it really that strong?
