I was just making up techniques… how did all of you become Emperors? Chapter 601: First Arrival on the Hongyuan Continent

Previously on I was just making up techniques… how did all of you become Emperors?...
After leading the Wendao Academy to victory in the Grand Competition, Chu Feng and his disciple Cao Youqian are celebrated as the academy's new pillars. Chu Feng receives a mission to establish a new sect in the Hongyuan Continent, a primal world where the human race has yet to rise. Before departing, he travels to the Saint Academy to meet with the God King and reunites with his former master to prepare for the journey ahead.

Chapter 601: First Arrival on the Hongyuan Continent

“Master, your ability to read people is truly impeccable.”

With a grin, Chu Feng gave a thumbs-up in admiration.

“Enough, this isn't the right setting for a long talk. Come, let us sit for a while in my modest courtyard.”

Following these words, Meng Laotou guided Chu Feng and the other two away from the main hall. Before long, the quartet stood before a peaceful, thatched cottage nestled in a picturesque landscape.

Scanning the cottage, Chu Feng immediately spotted a familiar short poem inscribed beside it: The mountain need not be tall…

He couldn't help but tease with a smile, “Master, I never thought you would go as far as stealing even this.”

Meng Laotou’s face shifted as he bristled, glaring while huffing into his beard. “How can the actions of a scholar be labeled as stealing? Besides, this poem was clearly a filial tribute you offered to this old man.”

Choosing not to bicker further, Chu Feng produced a tea table and began the process of brewing tea.

It wasn't long before the delicate scent of tea drifted through the entire thatched cottage.

Inhaling the fragrance, Meng Laotou smiled. “Xiao Feng, your mastery over tea-brewing has reached a new level.”

Chu Feng simply shrugged. “Master, why are you still resorting to insults?”

“Hahaha…”

Meng Laotou let out a hearty laugh. “Many years have passed since we last met. This old man briefly forgot that in your homeland, complimenting one's tea skills is taken as an affront. Drink up, drink up.”

The four members belonging to the Miscellaneous Dao Courtyard sat together around the table, savoring the brew.

Once the first pot was finished, Chu Feng spoke up. “By the way, Master, there is a detail I neglected to mention.”

“And what is that?”

Meng Laotou inquired.

“Madam Qianhuan mentioned that what happened in the past should remain there, and you shouldn't let it weigh on your heart.” After delivering the message, Chu Feng watched his master’s reaction with a calm gaze.

A slight twitch touched the corner of Meng Laotou’s mouth. “Sigh… that entire ordeal was my mistake. Once I attain the rank of Saint, I will naturally find her to settle everything. On another note, did you pay a visit to the Qingqiu Sacred Land?”

Chu Feng answered, “Reporting to Master, this disciple followed your guidance and took that girl, Qianqian, under my wing to oversee her Cultivation. With enough time, her ascension to a Saint is guaranteed, and she might even reach the height of a Divine King.”

“You executed that task perfectly.”

Meng Laotou gave Chu Feng a thumbs-up before asking, “Once you reach the Hongyuan Continent, what sort of Sect do you intend to build?”

Chu Feng asked curiously, “Master, is there a specific requirement for this?”

Meng Laotou explained unhurriedly, “Naturally. The most effective way is to found a Sect that resonates with the Great Dao you follow. Doing so will facilitate your path to becoming a god.”

Chu Feng smiled. “In that case, it's quite simple. I shall establish a Sect that offers teaching without discrimination and exclusively recruits Sons of Destiny. I will surely achieve godhood in less than a century.”

“…”

Meng Laotou fell into a stunned silence. After a long pause, he asked tentatively, “Boy, give this old man a straight answer. Exactly what kind of Great Dao do you walk?”

“Dao.”

After speaking that single word, Chu Feng elaborated, “As the saying goes: the Dao gives birth to One, One gives birth to Two, Two gives birth to Three, and Three gives birth to all things…”

A heavy silence descended, leaving the space before the cottage completely hushed.

Meng Laotou stared at his student with wide, disbelieving eyes. After a long while, he looked as though his spirit had been drained; he sat down heavily and sighed, “I am old, truly old. This era ultimately belongs to you youngsters. There is nothing left for this old man to teach you.”

A week later, the Suppressing God King activated the teleportation formation destined for the Hongyuan Continent. Chu Feng, accompanied by his two disciples, stepped into the light and was transported away.

As the glow of the formation dimmed, the trio felt themselves being swathed in a colossal divine power.

After an indeterminate amount of time, the power faded, and they found themselves standing upon a towering mountain peak.

Chu Feng extended his divine sense to investigate the environment, discovering that the world did not reject them. Furthermore, the spiritual energy present was even more potent than at the Academy of Seeking the Dao, surpassed only by the Sacred Academy.

Huff…

Taking a deep breath, Cao Youqian remarked, “Master, the spiritual energy here is incredibly thick. With this level of Qi, my Cultivation speed will be several times greater than it was on the Xuanyuan Continent.”

Chu Feng clarified, “That is to be expected. This realm was only recently opened, meaning it is rich with not just innate spiritual energy, but various innate treasures as well. Should you find them, you might even manifest a second Immortal Body, and your grasp of the Great Dao’s true essence will deepen.”

Hearing this, the two disciples were instantly filled with fervor, eager to test themselves through experience and Cultivation.

Chu Feng, seeing right through their excitement, smiled and said, “Let us focus on founding the Sect first. After that is done, you may descend the mountain to find recruits.”

Xiao Chen asked, “Master, are there specific criteria for the disciples we accept?”

Without missing a beat, Chu Feng replied, “Affinity. They must simply be a fit for our path. However, since we are venturing into new lands, we shall adopt new identities. The titles we used on the Xuanyuan Continent are to be retired; we must devise new, grander names.”

Cao Youqian’s eyes sparkled as he asked, “Master, what titles should we choose?”

“Since this seat merges all Daos into one, I shall take the title of Dao Ancestor.”

The moment Chu Feng spoke those words, a terrifying pressure suddenly surged from the heavens toward him. Instinctively, he summoned the power of his Great Dao to hold it back.

Xiao Chen and Cao Youqian were startled by the sudden display. They didn't interfere, choosing instead to watch from the sidelines, confident that their master would not be bowed by such a minor manifestation of heavenly might.

Seconds turned into minutes as Chu Feng stood firm against the celestial pressure, his expression remaining utterly stoic.

In what felt like a flash, seven days passed until the Dao force finally retracted. A beam of golden light then descended, merging into Chu Feng’s form.

Sensing a slight increase in his Dao accumulation, his eyes brightened as he whispered, “Does this signify that I have received the recognition of the Heavenly Dao?”

Upon hearing this, Xiao Chen and Cao Youqian quickly asked, “Master, you gained a benefit just like that?”

“Indeed.”

Chu Feng looked up at the sky and mused, “It appears this world is quite receptive to bearing fortune. Once the Sect is established, fortune will naturally congregate here, which will be of immense help to our Cultivation.”

The two were overjoyed and shouted together, “Master, let us establish the Sect immediately!”

“Mm.”

With a wave of Chu Feng’s hand, a grand formation instantly blanketed the mountain. As it took hold, the spiritual energy from a ten-thousand-li radius began to flow toward their location.

He retrieved a Dao stone from his storage ring and carved the words ‘Seeking Dao Sect’ into its surface. With a flick of his wrist, he settled the stone at the mountain's base, then rubbed his chin, feeling the setup was still incomplete.

Next to the Sect name, he utilized the power of the Great Dao to etch four more characters: ‘Teaching Without Distinction’.

As soon as these words were finished, another pillar of light fell from the heavens, infusing the inscription with layers of profound Dao mystery.

Such was the wonder of a fresh world. Beyond the innate beings, there was no one to challenge him for this fortune.

The master and his disciples set to work on the construction, and within three days, a magnificent new Sect stood atop the peak.

Cao Youqian then asked, “Master, the Sect is complete, but this mountain remains nameless. Would you care to name it?”
