I Really Am A Villain Chapter 1809 - Seizing The Peach
Previously on I Really Am A Villain...
Xu Zimo's voice echoed sharply.
Not only were the disciples stunned right then, but the fleeing peach tree itself was completely rattled too.
The tree sensed all too clearly how that blade aura targeted it straight on. The sharpness of the aura was matchless, utterly irresistible. One more step ahead, and a lone slash would probably reduce it to mere kindling.
In that instant, the peach tree halted rigidly, incapable of budging. Right after, the frost from the Innate Absolute Zero Sword rushed in, encasing the peach tree entirely in ice.
“Yes! We've finally nabbed this fellow,” the onlookers shouted joyfully.
Zhao Qiuyi's eyes landed on Xu Zimo, as though she silently mulled over who he might be.
“Senior Sister Zhao, you're incredible. This peach is yours now,” a disciple next to her flattered.
Wang Ze fired back furiously before Zhao Qiuyi could respond, “Brother Xu clearly halted this peach. Senior Sister Zhao arrived only afterward.”
“Exactly,” Wang Ya agreed with a nod.
“Why are you Plant lineage folks interfering? Scram,” a disciple close by sneered disdainfully.
They had obviously witnessed Xu Zimo striking first, yet Plant lineage members were always dismissed lightly. With Xu Zimo journeying alongside Wang Ya, he was naturally viewed as another Plant lineage disciple.
Wang Ya and her brother flushed with rage upon hearing this.
Zhao Qiuyi stayed composed throughout. She gazed at Xu Zimo and spoke first. “Are you selling this Spacetime Peach? I’ll trade something of equal value.”
“No sale. This peach catches my interest,” Xu Zimo replied, shaking his head.
Zhao Qiuyi eyed Xu Zimo briefly, then nodded silently before heading deeper into the Peach Orchard.
Her nearby disciples grew annoyed instead.
“Brat, few in Jade Court dare snub Senior Sister Zhao.”
“Hand over the peach if you're smart. We won't rip you off.”
“Right. Senior Brother Qin Guan will bring you big trouble if he hears.”
“No idea if I'll face big trouble,” Xu Zimo replied evenly, “but keep blabbering, and my blade might just slice some melons to spill crimson.”
His words silenced the murmurs around him at once.
“Junior Brother, we're only advising you out of goodwill. Don't act so thankless,” one muttered.
Mindful of the fearsome blade intent Xu Zimo unleashed moments ago, none dared clash directly now. They shifted to indirect pressure. “Senior Brother Qin Guan courts Senior Sister Zhao Qiuyi. Know his fame? He's the Treasure lineage's Saint Son, grandson to a Jade Court core elder.”
“Scram,” Xu Zimo snarled, done with their drivel.
His roar boomed like thunderclap. The disciple flew back without reacting, eardrums shattered.
Witnessing that, the others grasped Xu Zimo's boldness. Hopes he’d spare them as sectmates evaporated. They quieted one after another and dispersed.
A few nursed grudges, scheming to tip off Qin Guan secretly. Xu Zimo paid it no heed.
He held goodwill toward Jade Court, yet that hardly let anyone strut before him.
With the crowd scattered, Xu Zimo at last focused on the peach tree.
Beneath Xu Zimo's stare, the peach tree quivered wildly.
“Y-you... who are you?” it stammered.
“No fear needed. I just want the peach,” Xu Zimo reassured.
Unlike fellow trees laden with dozens of peaches, this one bore just one.
Essence lies in purity, as the proverb says. The spacetime power packed into that lone peach was staggeringly abundant.
“Take the peach if you wish—just pluck it,” the peach tree urged swiftly.
“This peach is mine now. Can't split it with you both, I'm afraid,” Xu Zimo smiled, facing Wang Ya and Wang Ze.
His tenets stayed straightforward. Useless items he’d share freely, but needs he guarded fiercely without compromise.
Grasping fully, Wang Ya and her brother grinned promptly. “Brother Xu, no need for such courtesy. The peaches we've harvested thanks to you overwhelm our gratitude already. We seek no more.”
Xu Zimo gave a nod.
He plucked the peach off the tree. Then the peach tree piped up once more. “You seek the peach, yet mine isn't the finest in this orchard.”
“I know—it's the Earth-Heart Mother-Thunder Peach Tree farther in,” Xu Zimo smiled, nodding.
“Dare you challenge it?” the peach tree chuckled. “That beast fancies itself Peach Orchard overlord. Pursue it, and I'll lead your charge.”
Upon hearing this, Xu Zimo let out a chuckle. “So even peach trees don’t get along with each other?”
“Of course not. Before that thing appeared, I ruled this orchard as the boss,” the peach tree boasted proudly.
Evidently, though formed by the Jade Court and marked with the most ancient peach tree consciousness, it differed little from any ordinary creature.
Xu Zimo remained silent.
The peach tree grew restless. “Well? Speak up. Do you believe me or not?”
“I’ll consider it,” Xu Zimo answered with a grin.
Standing close by, Wang Ya hesitated repeatedly, as though eager to speak.
Once the peach tree departed, she finally whispered, “Did you notice?”
“Obsession,” Xu Zimo replied.
The peach tree seemed ordinary on the surface, yet it harbored a fierce obsession. That obsession alone sustained its existence.
Should the obsession fade away, the peach tree would perish in an instant.
In truth, every complete living being endures birth, aging, illness, and death. Even advancing through cultivation merely prolongs life—it bestows longevity, not genuine immortality.
Yet this peach tree needed no cultivation. Its lifespan appeared boundless.
This stemmed from it not being a true living being.
Rather, it was a manifestation born from obsession.
Its obsession originated in the Peach Orchard, craving dominance as the orchard's boss and supreme ruler among all peach trees. Once fulfilled, the peach tree would dissolve into oblivion.
Hence, the Peach Orchard would never permit this peach tree any peace.
Naturally, none of this concerned Xu Zimo in the slightest.
He gripped the peach tightly. Frankly speaking, the spacetime power contained within was astonishingly dense.
Without any pause, Xu Zimo devoured the peach in one ferocious bite.
Instantly, spacetime energies churned and ripped through his body, as if bent on devouring him whole.
His savage method of ingestion unleashed the full force of that power all at once.
“Suppress it,” Xu Zimo growled, issuing a deep shout.
A tremendous force erupted as he brutally compressed it down.
