Hye's ship was destroyed by a colossal monster, prompting him to warn others against such encounters. He then began sending scouting ships to investigate these monsters' origins, ultimately discovering that they inhabit distinct zones, separated by dangerous border areas. Hye found a way to bypass these borders by sending his ships through when two colossal monsters were distracted fighting each other, and he continued to send ships to map out these zones.

Hye's movements were once again detected by the Hescos. Despite Moth's repeated inquiries, Hye maintained his silence regarding the true nature of his abilities.

The Hescos, determined to keep pace, dispatched their own fleet, managing to mobilize earlier than before. Numerous vessels successfully navigated past the two colossal entities, accelerating towards the distant, swirling vortex of mist.

Hye remained unconcerned; the Hescos had long been unable to establish a connection with their ships. Unlike him, they had not invested in a compatible network infrastructure.

This fortunate convergence of timing occurred only twice more before Hye finally reached the Outer Battlefield. His journey spanned over two weeks, and even by then, the ships he had dispatched initially had yielded no significant discoveries. Nevertheless, Hye urged them onward, stepping into the Outer Battlefield himself.

The initial indication of their arrival manifested as a gradual widening of the passage they traversed. What initially seemed a narrow conduit, barely sufficient for a single fleet to navigate as one, expanded with each passing hour until it could accommodate several fleets abreast.

Knowing they had entered the Outer Battlefield, Hye immediately conveyed the news to his company. Within approximately twelve hours, they arrived at a breathtaking vista, where the land stretched limitlessly towards the horizon. The assembled fleets gave the impression of having materialized through ethereal portals.

They emerged into this new world via numerous celestial whirlpools, suspended thousands of meters in the sky. Upon their appearance, the gravitational pull of the entire realm seemed to converge upon their vessels, compelling a rapid descent towards the surface.

[Maintain your position; we have arrived, but do not attempt to counter the welcoming descent!] Moth transmitted to Hye. The latter couldn't help but scan his surroundings, feeling no apprehension for his fleet.

He had already deduced that conventional ships held little relevance in this dimension, or at least within the staging area where they had landed. If such were the prevailing laws of this world, it implied a method for securing their vessels. Otherwise, no expeditionary force would ever find its way back home.

The swift G-force experienced during their descent caught his generals and warriors by surprise. Hye dispatched a calming transmission, echoing Moth's instructions, urging them to relax and ease their anxieties.

The rapid descent persisted for several minutes, astonishing Hye and his crew, who had anticipated a catastrophic impact within moments. Moth clarified to Hye that the exact reasons behind this perceived acceleration for those aboard the descending ships remained unknown. However, he assured Hye that the actual rate of descent was not alarmingly high.

In reality, to observers positioned on the ground below, the ships appeared to be gently drifting, descending serenely and making contact with the surface without any harm or peril to the vessels or their occupants.

"Is this the fabled Outer Battlefield?" Once their ships had settled, Hye gave the signal, and all his forces disembarked. They began storing their vessels within their personal inventories, only to discover an unusual anomaly.

The inventories exhibited limited functionality; certain items were accessible, while others remained inert. Apart from armaments, spacecraft, and warrior manifests, the majority of their stored goods were rendered unusable.

Legend stood nearby, gazing with childlike wonder at the unbelievable spectacle. Lily and Olana mirrored his expression, surrounded by others, while many eyes were drawn to their group.

The fleets had landed in an immense expanse, a domain vast enough to comfortably accommodate a hundred times their current number. Before them lay an endless array of structures and edifices, each ensconced within a peculiar, vibrantly colored energy shield. In the far distance, resembling a colossal mountain peak, an indistinct dark placard became visible, adorned with numerous inscriptions that appeared blurred from this vantage point.

"Welcome to the Outer Battlefield," Moth announced, flanked by imposing Hescos elites. "This place operates like the untamed frontier. There are no established laws, no governing systems, and virtually no limitations on individual actions. Therefore, remain alert, maintain your vigilance, and follow my lead."

Moth's pronouncements and demeanor struck Hye as peculiar, though he soon understood the reason. Shortly after they had proceeded a few minutes towards the distant, shielded structures, a sizable contingent of a particular species emerged – the Toranks.

The instant Hye recognized them, he sensed impending conflict. He was uncertain whether news of the recent confrontation between the Hescos and the Toranks in the wider cosmos had reached this sector. However, one certainty remained: this large gathering had advanced with weapons held aloft, prepared for a ferocious engagement.

"These armaments..." Lily observed from beside Hye, "they possess a remarkably archaic quality..."

Her gaze shifted between Hye, who simply shrugged, and Moth, who let out a sigh.

"It's certainly strange, but these... They aren't primitive," he paused, then added with a grave expression, "These weapons are crafted from ores and materials scavenged from this world. This means, in terms of pure strength and power, they are vastly superior to any weapon we possess. And that is what makes that group, or any group, extremely dangerous to newly arriving forces such as yourselves."

Moth's explanation immediately put Hye on high alert. He grasped the general meaning of Moth's words. After all, the Outer Battlefield was connected more to an alien universe than their own. Judging by its general appearance, and the fact that the ground wasn't formed into the common rounded planetary shapes of the universe he knew; it stretched endlessly, forming a colossal flat world.

However, their arrival was not destined to be peaceful or smooth, as Hye and many others had anticipated; a great deal of bloodshed was inevitable, and they would have to contend with forces that had resided here for a considerable time.

Hye could discern that the approaching Toranks were thoroughly prepared for their arrival. The numbers they had amassed were no less than their own, and the weapons they brandished high in the air—swords, spears, and other seemingly primitive implements—were a testament to their readiness.
