"This spot acts as a massive neutral zone for every faction from our universe. It’s completely secure, but highly competitive. Right upon arrival, you’ll face numerous tests, requiring battles each time.
Oh, I neglected to mention, when we reach there, our ships will cease flying and become useless. Thus, we must store them away before others attempt to seize them."
"Steal it?!!" Hye exclaimed in shock, "Don’t you possess a solid reputation there or something?!!"
"Ah, reputation isn’t the issue," Moth clarified, "it’s a lawless frontier out there. If someone can sever a limb from you, they won’t hold back, no matter your faction or race. In that place, our powerful standing here means nothing. True power and feats shout louder than all else."
Hye nodded, grasping the point. He’d heard similar from Major before, but dismissed it since the latter hailed from a feeble race and realm. He hadn’t anticipated it applying to the formidable Hescos too.
"If that’s the case out there, it’ll be exciting," just as Moth predicted, Hye showed no fear toward his words. Instead, the human’s interest surged to head there and test his fortunes.
From Moth’s knowledge of Hye, the latter was a supreme expert in this arena. Entering that chaotic realm felt like a shark diving back into the vast sea.
They chatted briefly before Hye departed. Back at his flagship, he shared all he’d gleaned from Moth with the crew. He wished to take Major along, but the other remained occupied conquering his kingdom.
Even now, Major battled fierce opposition relentlessly. Things weren’t quite as he’d been told by his Elder ally. Actually, his kingdom had been overrun by a mightier neighbor. This forced Major to clash with two kingdoms simultaneously.
Without Hye’s aid and support, Major stood no chance against both. But the upside was he’d claim two kingdoms in a single stroke.
The enemy kingdom meddled deeply in Major’s domain, viewing it as their subordinate. Thus, when Major emerged to seize command of his folk, they struck hard, sending most troops to smash him.
As Major told Hye, victory over their united armies would leave the foe nearly vulnerable. He could seize the moment, strike their core, claim their throne, and fuse the kingdoms.
Hye relished the intensifying drama there. Were it not for his pressing urge to reach the Outer Battlefield, upgrade his troops, amass vast wealth on the journey, and venture into the mysterious lands he’d long heard of, he’d rather join Major’s conflict and offer every aid possible.
Still, Hye’s assistance to Major was far from minor or basic. Major’s ability to face two kingdoms proved the massive growth in Hye’s army and kingdom’s power lately.
Much of this stemmed from the Research Department’s latest efforts under old Gan’s lead. The elder moved swiftly; amid the influx of new races, he uncovered treasures and massively grew his team.
Results bloomed when Hye brought back God Ore rocks. They analyzed the bombs Hescos rushed to create per Hye’s suggestions and guidance, ultimately improving them greatly.
Beyond that, they crafted novel war cannons able to tap the ores’ lethal energy and fire devastating barrages wiping out hordes in moments.
Enhancements extended to ship armor upgrades, fresh weaponry, and advanced defenses. These gains arose from the department’s efforts atop Hye’s haul from the Hescos trip. This fueled Hye’s grand expectations for their future.
Research Department aid didn’t end with Major. Hye’s expedition fleet reaped tons of upgrades too. Now, many vessels matched top factions’ power and tier. Hye even believed his edge came from those other-universe ships.
"Let’s move," after briefing on the fresh intel and his generals formed the fleet as Moth advised, he commanded, and the mighty armada advanced behind the Hescos.
Moth suggested breaking the grand fleets into smaller units, advancing in multiple groups with only a handful of ships per group. To avoid straying from the route, all of them needed to connect to one shared network, through which the Hescos would distribute the latest maps of the path and nearby areas, ensuring no ship got lost.
The massive armada surged forward as one. Positioned near the universe’s outer edges, it took just hours for them to breach the boundary. Right upon crossing, Hye laid eyes on exactly what Moth had described.
That pathway was truly colossal, snaking sharply left and right while spawning side branches that lingered for mere minutes before vanishing instantly. These deceptive dead ends popped up constantly to bewilder any travelers. Baffling Hye completely, Moth and the Hescos unerringly selected the true path every time.
Eventually, Hye’s curiosity spiked about those flickering paths. He summoned a small ship, packed it with a handful of his low-level warriors, and launched it into one. With a camera feed linked to their vessel, he eagerly awaited whatever horrors lurked at the far end.
ROAR!
