I'm the King Of Technology Chapter 3 Loyal Subordinates

Previously on I'm the King Of Technology...
Landon has begun to adapt to his new life as the banished prince of Arcadina after binding with a mysterious Technological System. This system, recognizing his extraordinary IQ and potential, has tasked him with improving his kingdom, Baymard, which is suffering from a food shortage and harsh winters. After receiving a Starter Pack that enhanced his physical strength and granted him knowledge in farming, Landon has set two primary missions: to address the food crisis and gather points for advancement. As he contemplates his new responsibilities, his sister Lucy arrives, noting his improved condition.

Ten clusters of people were scattered across the ground. Groups of no fewer than thirty gathered around their respective food stores. As he passed, they each dropped to one knee, offering a respectful salute.

"Greetings, Your Highness!"

"Please, sit back down. There is no need for such formalities," he replied with a warm smile.

The men, feeling relieved, returned to their seats. He continued following Lucy, shaking his head slightly. Upon spotting his mother, he approached and took a seat beside her. She observed him with an intense gaze, turning him from side to side to inspect him. She pulled him into a hug before placing her palms on his forehead as if checking for a fever. Simultaneously, Lucy grasped his wrist to monitor his pulse. She then tilted his head back and forth, seemingly trying to convince herself that he was truly unharmed.

’Good grief, I am a King, yet you both treat me like a toddler... What will my subordinates think if they see this? Also, don’t they realize that shaking me like this is making me dizzy?’ he mused.

"Little Landon, do you feel any better? You look healthier, but we must find a physician once we reach Baymard. For now, you must eat more..." Even as his mother spoke, she produced an enormous plate and began piling food onto it.

Landon’s eyes widened in shock. Looking around, he realized his portion was the largest in the entire group. In fact, it was the biggest plate of food he had ever seen. ’How is anyone supposed to finish this? Honestly, are you trying to kill me via overeating?’

"Brother Landon, have some of mine as well..."

As Lucy spoke, she added even more food to the mountain on his plate. His mother continued the onslaught until she finally stopped, only to pick up a spoon and guide it toward his mouth. ’Oh my God, now you’re actually trying to feed me too?’ he cried out internally.

Seeing that he didn't immediately take the bite, Kim assumed it was too hot. She did what any mother would do and blew on the spoon.

"Whuuuhhh... Whuuuuh. There, little Landon, it has cooled down. Quickly now, eat."

Landon was left speechless. He glanced toward the men in his group, who were clearly struggling to contain their amusement. One man’s face was turning a strange shade of reddish-purple from the effort. Landon gave them a look that screamed ’help me’, but they simply shrugged and kept eating, stifling their laughter.

’Is this what having a mother is like? It feels quite nice... Fine, I will let you feed me this once. But only this time! After all, I am technically a sick man, so it isn’t that weird... right?’ he thought to himself.

In his previous life, he was an orphan who never knew the warmth of a parent. In this life, despite having a scoundrel for a father, his mother was a saint. He was also surrounded by people who cared for him deeply.

His heart skipped a beat as he looked at Lucy. She was the most stunning girl he had ever encountered. Beyond her beauty, she had spent her life protecting the original Landon and standing up for him against bullies. She was loyal, fierce, and kind. He made a silent vow to protect her from this moment on.

Despite being moved by their affection, he couldn't help but wonder, ’Do these women think I’m a piglet? Three grown men couldn't finish what’s on this plate. Isn't this excessive?’ Nevertheless, seeing the hopeful expressions on their faces, he resolved to finish it all.

’I suppose today is the day I die of a burst stomach.’

When Landon and his mother departed from the capital, they were escorted by only three hundred and thirty knights. Most Barons and Dukes commanded at least three thousand. When his brothers reached fifteen, they were granted prosperous territories and no fewer than ten thousand knights each. Even his sisters were treated better; while they received mansions in the capital instead of cities, they were still granted three thousand knights to command.

The knights assigned to him were those the empire considered untalented, poorly trained, or simply an annoyance to the King. In reality, these men were good-hearted individuals who had merely been victimized by the empire’s hierarchy.

However, five exceptional knights stood among them. Lucius was a ’Knight Commander’, a rank of immense prestige. Many were stunned when he resigned his post just to follow Landon to Baymard. Landon, however, understood why based on his inherited memories.

Lucius had been a father figure to him for as long as he could remember. It was obvious that Lucius had feelings for his mother, though she was too oblivious to notice. ’Should I try to play matchmaker? My mother deserves to be happy, after all,’ he thought while eating and observing his surroundings.

He noted the three men seated near Lucius: Josh, Mark, and Gary. They were Lucius’s loyal disciples who followed him everywhere and treated Landon like a brother. Through hard work, they had all reached the rank of ’Knight Captain’.

Finally, his gaze landed on Trey Parsy, his personal bodyguard. Trey’s loyalty to Landon was so intense it bordered on an obsession. He was always at Landon’s side, guarding him and sharing jokes. To Trey, Landon was his brother. Despite being only 19, Trey was exceptionally powerful and held the rank of ’Knight Lieutenant’.

In this empire, knights were ranked by strength and merit. The hierarchy began at Squire, followed by Page, then Lieutenant, Captain, Major, Commander, Master Commander, and finally, Provost.

Once everyone had finished their meal, they resumed their trek toward their new home: Baymard.
