1970 Battle Preparations
"Extra! Extra! One Small Step for Man, One Giant Leap for Mankind: Moonwalkers Make History!"
"Houston, We Have a Walker! Husband sleepwalks, dreaming he is an astronaut taking a stroll on the Lunar Surface!"
"To the Moon and Back: Space Pioneers Leave Footprints in Lunar Dust"
"Goodness! Moonwalk Madness: Astronauts Dance on the Moon! Could this be the new trend?"
"Woman gets 87 marriage proposals in 1 week after going to the moon. Read all about it—"
A full week has passed since humanity first touched the lunar surface, and fresh reports continue to flood the news cycle incessantly.
Among the updates, it appears a Peace Station is slated for construction on the Moon. Furthermore, the already marvelous Rocket blueprints are being refined to ensure they no longer emit trails of fire when venturing into the void of space.
Once more, the public struggled to conceive of such a feat; they couldn't imagine a vessel ascending to the heavens without the violent thrust of flames propelling it upward.
Only Landon, with his knowledge of Star Wars and other Sci-fi legends, understood that future spaceships could truly navigate without releasing massive amounts of fire and fumes.
Meanwhile, many spies felt a deep sense of dread as they watched Baymard's power swell day by day.
A massive power shift was occurring!
The realization suddenly hit them: Baymard’s ascent might truly signify the end of their own influence.
"Boss, what should we do now?"
"Quickly, send news to the Master!"
Various factions scattered, rushing to report to every corner of the globe what they had witnessed with their own two eyes.
With faces drained of color and eyes lacking focus, they retreated as if fleeing for their very lives.
It was terrifying! Baymard was far too formidable to oppose, whether now or in the foreseeable future.
How could their empires possibly challenge a people capable of traveling to the moon and back?
Forget it... it was better to just sign the bloody treaty and be done with it.
This was the sentiment shared by many spies from non-UN empires. Naturally, the final decision on whether to continue opposing Baymard or become an ally rested with their masters.
Some still believed Morgany held a winning hand, while others were ready to defect in the blink of an eye. Dammit!
They despised Baymard because of its restrictive laws.
What did they mean by banning slavery?
What was this about not being allowed to abuse the maids who served them?
No whipping, no forced relations with women, no nothing?
Weren't these the very privileges of being a noble?
Baymard’s numerous regulations were the reason many had initially rejected the UN alliance. RUN!
That was their only instinct after seeing such a display of Baymard's might.
However, while the public buzzed about the moon landing and the first Star Wars film, Landon and several others remained focused on the primary reason they were in Baymard—WAR.
[Host, do not forget that you must retrieve the Golden Core and submit it to the system within your upgraded space to successfully halt any further chaos caused by its existence.]
'I know,' Landon answered the persistent voice ringing in his ears.
[Heh... I assumed the host, in his usual stupidity, might have forgotten, considering you haven't retrieved it since obtaining the Space upgrade last year.]
Landon rolled his eyes, choosing not to engage with the system's attitude.
Having spent so much time with the system and enduring years of insults and nagging as part of his journey, Landon saw no point in arguing.
Landon shook his head with a wry smile, "You wouldn't understand."
His intention was to let the Morgs reach a peak of arrogance and ego before he moved in to snatch the core away.
Imagine their despair when they prepared for war only to discover the Holy Core had vanished?
Heh-heh-heh—
[Host, has anyone ever told you that you are the real villain here?]
(-_-)..!
Not today, system... not today.
Taking a deep breath, Landon pushed all thoughts of the Holy Core aside.
At this moment, he and several high-ranking commanders, leaders, and officials from Baymard and other UN empires were gathered in the largest Barrack Hall, their arms crossed and expressions grim.
These individuals were not his subordinates, but his allies.
Over the past few months, he and their respective monarchs had collaborated on a strategic war plan that utilized everyone's unique advantages.
Since Landon had already revealed their level of firepower during the previous conflict, there was no longer a need for secrecy.
Landon entered the hall alongside the various monarchs, a group of over seventy leaders in total.
"At ease."
A commander from Caronia, accompanied by a few others, stepped forward.
"Today, we have convened for the Final Mission Briefing. However, before we proceed... everyone, please check for the envelopes located under your seats!"
Many followed the instruction, finding envelopes labeled with their names and their new unit designations.
Red Scorpio 002, Blue Eagle 001, Orange Tiger 013... and so on.
Inside was a roster of the personnel they would be coordinating with.
Upon opening the envelopes, many were surprised to see they were integrated with people from different empires.
For instance, Red Scorpion 012 was required to collaborate with Blue Eagle 001 and other teams to strike specific cities within Morgany or Adonis.
This was no small matter; every UN empire would work in tandem at every location to ensure total victory.
They weren't merely attacking one target at a time; they were launching a massive, synchronized assault across all of Morgany and Adonis simultaneously.
To guarantee the safety of the troops, Baymard provided armor as lightweight as a common shirt. They were also issued the newest swords, daggers, spears, and various weapons forged from Baymard’s enhanced metals.
After witnessing the battles at the start of the year, everyone had to admit the Morgs were a genuine threat.
The enemy had somehow discovered a method to strengthen their metals, meaning standard weaponry would be useless against them.
This was why Baymard provided a technological solution.
Of course, for Baymard to produce these superior weapons, the UN empires had to provide vast quantities of their own metal armaments to be smelted and repurposed.
Even the lightweight armor was crafted from this recycled and refined metal.
Nothing is gained without sacrifice.
Landon was returning what they gave, but in a significantly improved form.
Flip, flip—
The hall was filled with the sound of pages turning as the folders were inspected.
The documents highlighted five primary focus points:
> A comprehensive list of partner teams and the subordinates under their command.
> Detailed entry and exit strategies for target locations, including rendezvous points for both success and failure scenarios.
> Specific roles for each faction and their deployment methods.
> Mission objectives, featuring portraits of City/Town Lords and the primary noble forces in each area.
> Finally, seven detailed maps of the regions, covering cities, villages, towns, forests, and hidden fortresses to be cleared.
Landon’s years of covertly moving in and out of Adonis and Morgany had allowed him to map these areas perfectly.
The attendees nodded in silent approval as they reviewed the documents while the speaker continued.
"Please verify that your files are complete. If you are missing any mentioned documents, please remain after the briefing to have it corrected."
Everyone began double-checking, sighing in relief once they confirmed everything was in order.
Some noted they were assigned A-class missions, while others were given SS-class or even SSS-class objectives.
Suddenly, the images on the projector screen shifted, and the briefing officially commenced.
Two hours later, the session concluded.
"Everyone, the official deployment date is May 17th. Today is the 10th. Use your remaining time in Baymard to rest and finalize your preparations for departure at 00:30!"
Hearts pounded throughout the room. They would be moving out at 12:30 midnight.
They gripped their documents tightly, feeling the heavy weight of a mission that would change the world.
"As members of the Armed Forces, we must be prepared for any contingency. Protect these documents with your lives and study them thoroughly."
They needed to memorize everything—from the terrain and weather patterns to the local flora of their assigned zones.
Furthermore, they had to internalize the data to properly command the soldiers under them.
They were also required to hold strategy meetings with the multinational teams assigned to their specific target zones.
Some realized their mission wasn't to hit the mainland of Morgany or Adonis, but rather to eliminate the various Morg pirate islands scattered across the seas.
In this world, nearly all islands were considered Morgany territory.
By dismantling the mainland and the island outposts simultaneously, any surviving Morg spies or remnant forces would be left completely homeless.
Regarding Adonis, one had to remember it controlled two entire continents: Lampe and Diana. They were going to strike both.
This was a global war against these two tyrannical forces. Even the non-treaty empires who stayed out of the fight agreed: it was finally time to bring these superpowers down!
"For world peace, we must WIN."
