I'm the King Of Technology Chapter 1968 Lift Off!

1968: The Ascent!

(^0^>)

Is the sensation reaching you?

Can you sense the overwhelming tide of fervor currently saturating the atmosphere?

"Greetings to our audience, this is Olivia reporting live for Channel 5 News! On this historic day, the human race prepares to transcend the heavens and conquer the stars for the very first time! Tom, what are your impressions of this event?"

"To be honest, Olivia... my heart is racing with anticipation for this breakthrough. Just imagine, viewers—for the first time ever, we small humans will actually tread upon the surface of the moon."

Olivia and her colleague, Tom, from the Channel 5 news team, delivered their report with visible exhilaration.

"Excuse me, sir... yes, you there. Would you care to share your perspective on today's events?"

"Whoa! Look, Mom! I'm on the screen!! Right, here is what I think. The cost of Guinness, my favorite brew, has climbed by 0.15 BAYS this year! I know our wages increased, but why must my drinks get more expensive too? Even as a Non-treaty worker here in Baymard, I find it insulting, despite making 3 BAYS more per hour than I used to!"

The reporters struggled to maintain their composure. What did the price of alcohol have to do with a lunar mission? Had they not been professionals, they surely would have rolled their eyes in frustration.

"And you, madam? What is your opinion on our journey to the moon?"

"I find it absolutely wonderful! Perhaps we will discover moon-dwellers up there! I’ve always believed I was far too attractive for the men on this planet. That's clearly why I haven't found a husband yet!"

"Oh, walking on the moon? I'm all for it, provided they let me hop on the flight right now!"

"Yes, yes, yes! It is truly miraculous! I never imagined I would live long enough to see us reach the Moon. However, won't the immortals residing there be offended by our intrusion? Do you think they will strike us down with divine thunderstorms?"

"Hmph! If you want my opinion, I don't see what the big deal is. I think we should just ignore the whole thing. Do you honestly believe that massive hunk of metal can actually fly that high? Normal planes look like tiny toothpicks next to it. How can something that heavy possibly lift off?"

"As for me? I’m a supporter. This is a magnificent milestone where we prove that modern humans are the most intelligent in history." "Blah, blah, blah, blah..."

...

The live broadcast was filled with a chaotic mix of public opinions, making the atmosphere even more boisterous than before.

Following their interviews with the crowd, the news crew moved toward the NASA facilities to capture close-up images of the astronauts as they prepared for departure.

Incredible!!!

The reporters gasped in unison as they caught sight of the majestic figures of the astronauts emerging, ready for their voyage into the void.

"Viewers! Stay tuned! They are appearing now! Can you see them?"

Vrmmm!!!

In a nearby structure resembling a massive aircraft hangar, heads began to pop up from a large opening in the center.

Then came the shoulders of those wearing peculiar white suits, each carrying a massive helmet.

Truly spectacular!!

Many onlookers stared with eyes wide enough to fall out of their sockets as the group rose from below. As the astronauts stepped out from the building in their spotless white gear, a sudden silence washed over the onlookers. The only sounds remaining were the rapid clicking of camera shutters and the occasional whispered gasp of wonder.

"Daddy, look! Are those the 'Astronauts' from the posters?"

"That’s right, son. You remembered. Today, those men and women are going to bring eternal glory to all of humanity."

"Dad, when I'm older, I'm going to be an astronaut just like them!"

The astronauts marched in perfect harmony, their movements so synchronized that the cameras could easily capture every face.

Inside the NASA facility, the families of the crew were watching. Children jumped for joy as they recognized their parents and relatives on the screens.

"Look, Mom! It's Dad!" Young Angela and Claus were buzzing with excitement, seeing their father in a completely new light.

Who could have guessed their father was this impressive?

Their dad was a true hero! Pride swelled within the hearts of many children that day, knowing their family members were legends in the making.

Angela was already imagining running home to brag to her playmates.

"Wow! Your dad actually went to the moon? That's so cool!"

AIIIIIII!

Angela and Claus watched intently.

Soon, the spectators watched as the astronauts, gathered from across the UN empires, boarded long, open-top transport vehicles. They were driven toward the distant launch site where the massive Rockets stood waiting.

Though they appeared composed on the outside, the astronauts were grappling with a whirlwind of internal thoughts.

As they ascended into the rocket, the sheer weight of their historic mission began to settle in.

The hatch shut with a heavy, final thud that sent a chill down Victor’s spine.

He took his position, buckled his restraints, and began the pre-launch drills alongside his comrades.

"All systems are green," the mission control officer announced over the comms. "T-minus 15 minutes to launch."

– Buduum!

Sanchez felt his heart pounding against his ribs as if it wanted to escape.

'Is this real? Am I actually leaving for space?'

Within the cramped interior of the rocket, the crew members traded nervous looks.

Anxiety was inevitable; after all, this was the first time anyone had ever attempted to leave Hertfilia.

Fortunately, Landon was present to steady their nerves.

Amusingly, even Little Momo and Linda were part of this journey.

"Listen up, everyone," Landon announced. "We have undergone the training for this. Have confidence in yourselves. We can do this!"

"Understood!" several voices replied, taking deep, calming breaths.

"To the moon and back!"

...

Fifteen minutes later, every passenger was secured inside the vessels.

The public now watched a live feed from inside the cockpit. They saw the astronauts strapped into their seats, flipping switches and toggling controls as if they were characters in a Sci-fi film.

It looked so futuristic—

Since Baymard had never released any Sci-Fi media before, the public was getting their very first glimpse of what the genre truly looked like.

Unbeknownst to the general public, a satellite had already been launched a month prior under the cover of night while the world slept.

This satellite was a necessity, ensuring that the ground team maintained perfect communication with the vessel.

Without it, transmitting a live broadcast all the way from the moon would have been impossible.

"Oh my God, it's starting!" someone shouted as they noticed Landon preparing for the final sequence.

The countdown commenced, with every passing second feeling like an age. Beneath the crew, the rocket began to groan and vibrate, like a great beast waking from a long sleep.

The crowds outside held their breath, their expressions a mix of hope, anxiety, and pride. "Three... two... one... liftoff!" As the command rang out from control, the rocket roared into the sky, propelled by a massive pillar of smoke and flame.

It was a sight to behold!

A flurry of lights flashed as the elegant, majestic Rocket began to shudder, venting fierce orange fire from its base.

It appeared as though a controlled explosion was erupting beneath the craft.

While many were initially terrified, they soon calmed down as the reporters explained that this was a normal part of the process.

And then—blast off!

BRRMMMMMM~

The rocket pierced the heavens, leaving a massive trail of fire in its wake.

Higher and higher it climbed, until a collective silence fell over all of Baymard. Not a single soul spoke a word.

The broadcast then shifted to external cameras mounted on the hull. The footage showed various stages of the rocket detaching and falling away as it reached specific altitudes, leaving only the core structure to continue the journey into the deep blue.

Dammit!

The skeptics and haters had briefly cheered at the sight of falling debris, but their joy was short-lived. When the camera feed cut back to the interior, it showed the astronauts looking perfectly calm and relaxed.
