A voice filled with desperation reached his ears. As Chu Yi heard the gentle tone, a thought flickered through his mind: 'Whose voice is that? Was I not dead?'

In that instant, an agonizing pain shot through his skull.

"Ahhhhhh!"

Clutching his head, Chu Yi screamed in agony. He forced his eyes open to find a breathtaking woman and a lovely young girl standing before him. The woman was the very embodiment of a goddess. Despite her exhausted appearance, her chestnut hair and graceful aura were enough to take anyone's breath away. Upon closer inspection of this middle-aged woman, it was evident she had endured a difficult life.

Beside her stood a young girl of extraordinary beauty; on Earth, she would be described as 'a beauty capable of toppling empires.' From her raven-black hair to her striking green eyes, she possessed the aura of a world-class beauty. She appeared to be no older than fifteen years of age.

Both the woman and the girl were sobbing as they shook him frantically. Chu Yi thought to himself, 'Am I not supposed to be ill? Why are they shaking me so violently? I'm worried I'll actually die from this treatment.'

Once Lucy and his mother had exited the carriage, he shut his eyes, attempting to process his new reality.

Back on Earth, he had been a thriving twenty-six-year-old mechanical engineer with a solid grasp of electrical engineering. He had just received a significant promotion, only to be involved in a fatal car accident on his commute home.

'Ugh... right after I finally got that massive raise...'

He now inhabited the body of Landon Barn, a fifteen-year-old illegitimate prince of the Arcadina Empire. His mother, Kim Obley, had served as a palace maid. Cary Barn, the seventeen-year-old second princess from the first wife. James Barn, the sixteen-year-old third prince from the third wife. And finally, there was the illegitimate prince, Landon Barn. They all tormented Landon ruthlessly, treating him like a common slave. Due to this constant hostility, Landon had grown to be exceptionally mature, quiet, and reserved.

A month ago, upon Landon reaching the age of fifteen, his father had publicly granted him lordship over the fief of 'Baymard.' It was simultaneously decreed that Baymard would no longer be considered a part of the empire. It was common knowledge that Baymard was a desolate wasteland where the inhabitants perished from starvation and the biting cold. In essence, the King had exiled him and his mother to the furthest reaches of the world. Furthermore, since Baymard was no longer part of the empire, it meant that the empire would offer no protection if war ever broke out.

'What a calculating old bastard. Well, I am Landon Barn now, no longer Chu Yi. My priority must be to develop that place,' Chu Yi mused. Just as Landon prepared to stand up, a voice echoed in his mind.
