Lu Qing agrees to join Qiu Ruofeng and the Black Robed Men on an expedition into the Demon Abyss, using only a Divine Thought Avatar. The group ventures deep into the abyss, facing thick demonic energy and corrosive darkness. They encounter strange, cold black flames that ignite mana, and eventually hear growls as several black shadows emerge from the darkness.
Various shadowy entities took form, some bearing human likenesses, others resembling beasts, and some were of indescribable shape. Composed entirely of black Demon Flames, they radiated a violent aura, utterly devoid of intelligence, their eyes holding only a primal thirst for slaughter. "It's the Demon Fire Monsters!" a voice from amidst the black-robed figures cried out in alarm, "There are so many of them!" Lu Qing swiftly shifted his gaze. This contingent of monsters numbered at least thirty individuals. Upon detecting the group, they immediately surged forward with astonishing velocity, a frantic charge. Qiu Ruofeng let out a cold snort and made a gesture with his hand. A dark beam of light shot forth from his sleeve, impaling several monsters at the forefront in an instant. These monsters emitted piercing howls as their bodies detonated, transforming into countless sparks that dissolved into the surrounding darkness. Leaving absolutely no trace behind. The other figures clad in black robes also commenced their actions. Evidently seasoned, they had spent considerable time within this Demon Abyss and possessed the knowledge to confront these creatures. A variety of magical artifacts were unleashed, engaging the monsters in combat and rapidly dispatching more than half of their number. Lu Qing, however, remained still, not intervening. He quietly scrutinized the monsters, meticulously observing their every action. Despite their ferocity, these monsters attacked with exceptionally rudimentary methods, knowing only to charge headlong without any semblance of technique. It appeared they lacked any sentience, operating purely on instinctual bloodlust. Furthermore, once dispatched, they would completely vanish, leaving no vestige of their existence. As if they had never been present at all. "Where do these beings originate?" Lu Qing inquired. Qiu Ruofeng responded while fending off monsters, "Nobody truly knows. Some posit they materialize from the condensation of Demonic Qi. Others suggest that fallen cultivators become transformed after succumbing to erosion by Demonic Qi. But certainty eludes everyone. In any case, these Demon Abysses teem with them, an endless proliferation. Initially, there were even numerous such creatures near the outskirts, but we managed to clear them." Lu Qing offered a nod, refraining from further inquiries. Before long, these thirty monsters were completely annihilated. The group proceeded onward. Yet, after traversing a short distance, another wave of monsters emerged. This time, their numbers were significantly greater, totaling around a hundred, encircling the group from all sides and launching a ferocious assault. The collective took action once more. These monsters seemed even more aggressive, charging forward with no discernible fear. Several managed to breach the defenses, rushing towards a black-robed individual and opening their fanged mouths to bite. The black-robed man roared in anger, his magical artifact blazing with intense light, shattering the encroaching monsters. However, a few wisps of Demon Flame latched onto him, scorching and burning. The black-robed man’s expression shifted drastically as he hastily employed his mana to exorcise the clinging strands of Demon Flame from his form. With this momentary lapse, even more monsters surged forward. Lu Qing continued his non-intervention. He merely observed. He discerned that these monsters, despite their sheer multitude, attacked in a remarkably disordered fashion. They appeared indiscriminate, assailing anyone within sight without any discernible strategy. Moreover, irrespective of how many were slain, they never retreated. Within this unending gloom, it felt as though countless monsters lay in wait for any unfortunate quarry. "Increase our pace!" Qiu Ruofeng commanded, "Avoid prolonged engagements!" While dispatching monsters, they pressed onward. The path ahead transformed into an exceptionally arduous trial. These Demon Fire Monsters seemed inexhaustible, impossible to vanquish completely. Sometimes a mere dozen, other times hundreds, appearing in relentless waves that left them increasingly weary and strained. The black-robed figures began showing signs of injury. While not critical individually, these wounds accumulated, noticeably diminishing their vitality and vigor. Qiu Ruofeng’s countenance grew progressively more somber. "Something feels amiss," he murmured, "The monsters today are considerably more numerous than is typical, as if some force is deliberately driving them." A black-robed man posed a question, "Could this be related to the actions of the Black and White Temple?" Qiu Ruofeng shook his head, "Uncertain. Regardless, we must hasten our advance. Continuing at this rate will deplete our strength before we reach our destination." The group gritted their teeth and quickened their pace. Lu Qing maintained his passive stance. He continued to watch and sense. He could perceive that, despite the monsters' ferocity, they lacked any true intelligence, acting solely on primal instinct. Their appearance seemed to adhere to a certain underlying pattern, not entirely random. However, he required more observation time to ascertain the specific nature of this pattern. After an indeterminate period of flight, the darkness ahead began to shift. The previously thick, impenetrable gloom started to dissipate. The concentration of Demonic Qi in the surroundings gradually diminished. The incessantly swarming Demon Fire Monsters began to decrease in number, eventually vanishing altogether. The group collectively exhaled in relief, pausing to regain their strength.

"Finally out," one black-robed man stated, his voice tinged with residual fear, "We faced no less than a thousand monstrous beasts on this perilous journey."

"Without Mr. Lu's escort, it's doubtful we would have reached this point, " another man in black admitted, directing a look laden with genuine gratitude towards Lu Qing.

Qiu Ruofeng also cast a glance at Lu Qing, a hint of bewilderment clouding his features.

He had observed that throughout their trek, Lu Qing remained passive, merely trailing behind them in silence.

Yet, it was peculiar that the monsters seemed to deliberately, or perhaps unintentionally, steer clear of him, none launching a direct assault.

"Mr. Lu is truly exceptional," Qiu Ruofeng commented, his tone admiring, "Even the monstrous beasts hesitate to draw near."

Lu Qing offered a slight smile, choosing not to elaborate.

After a brief respite, the party resumed their advance.

The suffocating darkness ahead gradually thinned, and eventually, a faint, spectral luminescence began to emerge.

This light, subtle yet uncanny, stood out starkly against the boundless abyss.

The group quickened their pace, drawn towards the beckoning glow.

Finally, breaking through the last vestiges of the oppressive dark, the spectacle that greeted them compelled an involuntary halt to their progress.

Stretching out before them was a colossal mountain range.

These mountains were entirely black, extending into the gloom as far as the eye could see, without discernible limit.

The peaks were utterly devoid of any vegetation, adorned only with strange rock formations and the pervasive, dark Demon Flames.

These Demon Flames blazed within the mountains, casting an ethereal sheen over the entire landscape, making it appear as a spectral realm.

Deep within the mountainous expanse, a colossal structure could be vaguely discerned.

Partially obscured by the dancing Demon Flames, the building was utterly black, exuding an aura that felt both ancient and immense.

Its form suggested a palace, or perhaps a tomb, its exact nature eluding clear perception.

"We have arrived," Qiu Ruofeng declared, his gaze fixed on the structure, excitement coloring his voice, "This is the resting place of the Fallen Mysterious Transformation Great Power."

Lu Qing's gaze settled calmly upon the edifice, his eyes conveying a profound depth.

He could discern that the edifice concealed an aura of immense power.

An aura that was ancient and eternal, having persisted through countless eons, yet imposing an intangible, heavy pressure.

"Let us proceed," he stated casually, taking the lead as they soared towards the mountains.

The others swiftly followed in his wake.
