Lu Qing was brought to the Dark Abyss by Qiu Ruofeng, who asked him to help explore a mysterious inheritance site. Qiu Ruofeng explained that the chaotic spatial laws within the Abyss made navigation perilous, and only someone with Lu Qing's mastery of the Space Dao could guide them safely. Lu Qing, however, was hesitant and pressed Qiu Ruofeng about the whereabouts of ancient Transformation Immortals. Qiu Ruofeng then proposed a deal: he would reveal the location of the Transformation Immortals in exchange for Lu Qing's assistance in exploring the inheritance.

A subconscious feeling hinted to him that the impending cataclysm Elder Qiu Ruofeng mentioned might be linked to the Black and White Temple.

Yet, these notions remained confined within Lu Qing’s mind, unspoken.

After all, his trust in Qiu Ruofeng and his companions was far from absolute.

Who could guarantee their actions at a crucial juncture?

Mercifully, the entity that arrived this time was merely a Divine Thought Avatar.

Should an unforeseen event transpire and he perish within this Demon Abyss, it would signify only the loss of an avatar, impacting his true self minimally.

With this consideration, Lu Qing reached his decision.

He turned his gaze to Qiu Ruofeng, offering a slow nod, "Very well, I concur."

A wave of relief and joy washed over Qiu Ruofeng’s countenance.

The Black Robed Men accompanying him also exhaled in unison, their eyes alight with anticipation.

"We are indebted to you, fellow Daoist!" Qiu Ruofeng proclaimed, his gratitude swift, "Rest assured, Daoist friend, this expedition is oriented around your presence. Your commands shall guide us, and should peril arise, act as you deem fit, without reservation for our circumstances."

Lu Qing acknowledged this with a nod, adding a crucial stipulation, "However, it must be clearly stated that I shall proceed only with this Divine Thought Avatar. My true self is occupied with other pressing matters and will not be accompanying us."

Qiu Ruofeng gestured dismissively, "No concerns, none at all! Your avatar possesses a might surpassing our true bodies; that is more than sufficient!"

His assertion was not mere sycophancy.

Moments prior, when Lu Qing had displayed his displeasure, the emitted aura had caused even the Unity Realm elders to feel a tremor in their hearts.

In a direct confrontation, even their combined strength might prove insufficient against this single avatar.

Having such a formidable presence in their ranks significantly bolstered their prospects.

Without further delay, their departure was immediate.

They ventured away from the floating rock adrift in the darkness, plunging once more into the depths of the Demon Abyss.

Save for Lu Qing, Qiu Ruofeng and his companions had brought their true selves along.

It was not that they were unwilling to emulate Lu Qing's approach, utilizing a Divine Thought Avatar for the exploration.

However, their cultivation levels rendered such avatars incapable of enduring the abyssal depths.

The pervasive Power of Darkness alone possessed the capacity to annihilate their avatars.

Only their true forms could withstand, albeit barely, the corrosive nature of that encroaching darkness.

Once beyond the protective radius of the floating rock, the dense Demonic Qi descended upon them anew, engulfing them like unseen tides.

The surrounding darkness was so profound as to feel corporeal, rendering sight impossible beyond one’s immediate reach—only the spiritual luminescence emanating from their bodies illuminated a few meters around them.

Lu Qing drifted serenely within the void, perceiving all that transpired.

This subterranean realm was demonstrably deeper than his previous incursions, the concentration of Demonic Qi perhaps doubled.

The corrosive influence was also more pronounced, relentlessly assailing the protective light barriers projected by their artifacts, eliciting faint, Hissing sounds.

With a mere thought, Lu Qing subtly channeled his internal mana, repelling the encroaching demonic energies.

"Forward," he commanded placidly, charting their course.

Qiu Ruofeng and the others followed with haste.

As they navigated the seemingly endless gloom, an unbroken silence prevailed, punctuated only by intermittent spatial undulations, serving as a reminder of this place’s unnatural state.

Nevertheless, as their descent continued, amidst the lawless chaos of space, their sense of direction completely dissolved.

Even the path they had traversed became utterly untraceable.

Consequently, they were compelled to remain in close proximity to Lu Qing, understanding that separation here could spell doom even for their true selves.

Fortunately, Lu Qing, possessing the mastery of an unparalleled expert in the Dao of Space, seemed entirely unfazed by the turbulent spatial laws.

Observing his unhesitating progress instilled a measure of reassurance in Qiu Ruofeng and his companions.

After approximately an hour of flight, a faint luminescence materialized in the distance.

It was a solitary flame.

Suspended in the oppressive darkness, the flame burned with an eerie black hue, emitting a soft radiance that illuminated a scant few meters. Rather than warmth, it radiated an unnerving chill.

Lu Qing cast a cursory glance at the flame and continued onward, unperturbed.

Qiu Ruofeng and the others, however, adopted grave expressions, carefully skirting the peculiar fire.

Noticing their cautious behavior, Lu Qing inquired, "Does this Demon Flame pose a threat?"

Qiu Ruofeng inclined his head, explaining, "Though innocuous in appearance, if this flame adheres to one’s person, it can ignite even one's mana.

While we may not fear its direct harm, its removal, once attached, proves exceedingly troublesome, demanding substantial mana. It is best avoided entirely.

During our initial explorations of the Demon Abyss's outer reaches, these Demon Flames manifested and presented considerable difficulties."

Lu Qing offered a simple nod, posing no further questions.

Their journey into the abyss persisted.

As they ventured deeper, the occurrence of Demon Flames became increasingly frequent.

Some were merely fist-sized, drifting serenely, while others, several meters in expanse, resembled blazing clouds. Certain clusters coalesced into immense oceans of black flame, utterly impeding the way forward. Qiu Ruofeng, seasoned alongside the others, guided Lu Qing, weaving through the treacherous Demon Flames. When evasion proved impossible, they united their strength, erecting protective barriers to carve a path. Lu Qing observed that despite their peculiar nature, these Demon Flames remained inert unless contact was made; they simply burned with an apparent eternity. Yet, after an additional thirty minutes of travel, the circumstances started to shift. A distinct commotion emanated from the distance ahead. Low growls, born from the shadows, grew progressively louder and more defined. Qiu Ruofeng's countenance shifted, and he murmured, "Exercise caution, an entity approaches!" Scarcely had the words left his lips when several dark specters erupted from the gloom.
