I Arrived At Wizard World While Cultivating Immortality Chapter 979: Convenience
Previously on I Arrived At Wizard World While Cultivating Immortality...
The uproar that Leap Power had stirred up in the outside world did not affect Jie Ming at all.
Once he had seen off Mentor Clark, Teacher Kastilla and Viola, he sat back down at his experiment bench, ready to use the resource support the Level-One Cultivation Protocol brought him to raise his own strength as quickly as possible.
Jie Ming had never once lost sight of his goal. Obtaining the Level-One Cultivation Protocol was only the first step, and naturally he would not waste any time.
He opened his magic network terminal and went into the resource procurement interface.
Yet the moment the interface unfolded, he froze.
The place that had once shown his military merit balance had turned into a single plain symbol.
And what that symbol meant in the wizard civilization was… infinity!
Jie Ming stared at the symbol for several seconds before he was sure he had not misread it.
“An unlimited allowance?”
He had already known that the Level-One Cultivation Protocol came with a great deal of support, but seeing it with his own eyes still made his breath catch.
Of course, Jie Ming was not so naive as to think he could now buy anything he liked without restraint.
What the Level-One Cultivation Protocol provided was resource support matched to the cultivation program, and its actual use still had to follow the corresponding rules.
Even so, this mark, standing for a supply of resources that was very nearly unlimited, was enough to make him feel just how much weight the Star Ring Federation placed on a Level-One Cultivation Protocol recipient.
He tried searching for the materials and knowledge he might need next.
The result was that the procurement interface he knew so well had changed almost beyond recognition.
Vast numbers of entries that could never have been found before now appeared in front of him. Some were extremely rare materials, some were the core technologies of certain eighth-level wizards, which in theory could never be put up for sale at all, and still others pointed straight to the plane origin of certain special planes.
Jie Ming even saw a few special resources he had always assumed did not exist in the wizard world, ones that could help a wizard temporarily raise his capacity for thought.
What was more, some of the high-level knowledge and materials no longer showed any price at all.
Jie Ming opened one of them and found that the system displayed only a summary, the scope of application and the conditions for applying. The price column simply did not exist.
He checked several more in a row, and every one was the same.
These were clearly not goods an ordinary wizard could buy, but special resources that only the Level-One Cultivation Protocol could reach.
“So this is the treatment… It really is a different world.”
This was why so many high-level wizards would go to such lengths to win this cultivation status.
For an ordinary wizard to obtain a single set of precious law materials might take several hundred years of accumulating resources, and then more effort still to find a channel to buy it through.
A Level-One Cultivation Protocol recipient, on the other hand, could draw directly on the Star Ring Federation’s resource system, so long as the application met the requirements.
The gap between the two was simply not something that the size of one’s fortune could explain.
A pity that even among eighth-level wizards, those who could obtain the Level-One Cultivation Protocol were few and far between.
Jie Ming was about to search further when the interface beside him suddenly began to flicker.
A small projection rose up beside the magic network terminal.
“Felix?” Jie Ming recognized the figure with some surprise.
“Wizard Jie Ming, congratulations on formally obtaining the Level-One Cultivation Protocol.”
The small projection gave a slight bow, its voice exactly the same as the Felix he had dealt with before. “To be precise, I am a clone of the artificial intelligence Felix, dedicated to communicating with you.”
Jie Ming looked at it, and quickly understood. “So you’re the one in charge of my affairs specifically?”
“Yes.” Felix answered. “From now on I will serve as your dedicated liaison clone, assisting you with applications for cultivation resources, the coordination of research projects and related matters. If you need to book a session with a certain high-level wizard for guidance, or wish to meet researchers in certain special fields, you may also raise that with me directly.”
Jie Ming was somewhat taken aback at what he heard.
Not only had the supply of resources become convenient, but even things like finding research partners or booking a high-level wizard for guidance could be handed straight to Felix?
The Star Ring Federation had all but placed a portion of its administrative capacity, the part that served high-potential researchers, directly into his hands.
Jie Ming thought for a moment, then asked outright:
“Felix, I intend to take the route of mastering all the laws. Given my current situation, what would you suggest?”
His mastery count in the Spiritual Qi Law had already risen past two hundred, which also meant that pushing it any further had become harder still.
He would have to do as Mentor Clark had done, mastering as many of this world’s laws as he possibly could, and then keep fusing his understanding of them into the Spiritual Qi Law.
Felix seemed to have expected Jie Ming to ask this question long ago.
“A reasonable request. Raising your strength will also help advance the research.”
The words made Jie Ming flush. “Ah… right!”
“Based on your current mastery of the laws, your past research results, and the research tendencies you have shown in different fields, I suggest you give priority to the following resources.”
Several categorized interfaces unfolded before Jie Ming at once.
First came knowledge.
From in-depth studies of the four basic elemental laws to the cross-relationships between different laws, Felix had produced a fairly complete recommended catalog.
A good many of the materials in it could never have been retrieved at all with the permissions Jie Ming used to hold.
“These materials can help you build a more complete framework for understanding the laws,” Felix explained. “Going by Wizard Clark’s past purchase records, this is also the problem that must be solved first when mastering all the laws. You can begin with the basic laws and their relationships to one another, then expand step by step into more complex fields.”
Next came resources and materials.
Here were listed all manner of special materials that could aid in analyzing the structure of laws, stabilize an experimental environment, or simulate the conditions of different elements.
Jie Ming even saw among them usage rights to a good number of laboratories belonging to the top-level powers.
As for the plane origin produced by certain special planes, that turned out to be the least valuable thing on the whole list.
Last of all, Felix had also drawn up a list of personnel.
Jie Ming glanced over it, and his eyebrows rose at once.
The people on the list were almost all major figures in their respective fields of research.
Many were wizards whose names Jie Ming had only ever seen in research materials.
“I can book these people too?”
“Of course.” Felix answered. “If you have a clear research need, I can arrange a meeting as a priority, based on both parties’ schedules. You may invite them to guide your research, or hold discussions around specific problems. How things proceed after that will depend on the other party’s work arrangements and the relevant research conditions.”
Jie Ming looked at the list and, for a moment, did not know what to say.
So this was the Level-One Cultivation Protocol?
