Jie Ming and Augusta faced suppression as they tried to open a spatial rift. While Augusta kept up the facade, Jie Ming calculated new coordinates and infiltrated the Holy Spirit plane cluster alone. He entered a plane formerly belonging to the King of Spreading Fear, where he observed the Holy Spirits enslaving intelligent creatures and trading slaves. As Jie Ming revealed his colossal Dharma Form, the Holy Spirits panicked.

Deep within the distant city, one mental wave after another swiftly rose.

The once-silent plane had been startled awake.

One Holy Spirit powerhouse after another raised its eyes to the unbelievably vast Dharma Form in the sky.

The Third Layer Dharma Form Jie Ming had unfolded hung above the city, its enormous body all but blotting out the entire sky.

In his Light God Transformation, brilliant platinum flames rose ceaselessly from within him, and blazing white radiance surged over his body like the tide.

The terrifying energy was not deliberately condensed. Instead, with every breath the Dharma Form took, it spread naturally in all directions.

Under the radiation of this power, the city below shook violently. The defensive runes on countless buildings lit up one after another, only to dim rapidly within a few short breaths, as though even the plane itself feared the colossus in the sky.

The Holy Spirit powerhouses reacted quickly.

Accompanied by piercing mental waves, several formidable auras shot skyward from deep within the city. One of them was especially startling; it had clearly reached the level of a seventh-level creature.

It was a Holy Spirit general more than a hundred meters tall, its body covered in layer upon layer of dark purple carapace. Dozens of thick tentacles stretched from its back, dense mental energy gathered at their tips.

It made no attempt to probe him. The moment it saw clearly that Jie Ming was only one person, it attacked outright.

A terrifying mental shockwave, wrapped in dark purple light, blasted toward Jie Ming, visibly warping the space along its path.

But it had not charged even a few kilometres before it stopped dead.

“Aaah!!!” A shrill scream of agony rang through the sky.

The seventh-level Holy Spirit general’s whole body suddenly convulsed violently. Great swathes of its carapace were scorched black in an instant, and the mental waves within its body fell into chaos in the space of a single moment.

It struggled desperately, trying to flee the area, but it had already lost control of its body.

Before long, the Holy Spirit general’s body began to break apart from within. Its dozens of tentacles writhed madly, and then its whole body went limp and plunged straight out of the sky.

Boom!

The hundred-metre Holy Spirit general slammed into the ground, gouging an enormous crater right in the middle of the city.

The fleeing Holy Spirits fell deathly silent at once; then an even greater terror spread among them.

Jie Ming, however, showed no surprise at all at the sight.

What had grievously wounded the seventh-level Holy Spirit was not any particular spell, but the energy radiation that dissipated naturally from him in his Light God Transformation.

With Jie Ming’s present life level and energy intensity, he was already an extremely terrifying energy field in his own right, even without attacking.

And with his Dharma Form unfolded, the intensity of that energy radiation climbed higher still.

In daily life or in ordinary battles, he usually reined this radiation in deliberately, so as not to affect the legions, the environment and the other allies around him.

Especially when he had to fight for long stretches or carry out delicate operations, suppressing the leakage of his own energy had become almost instinct.

But he had come here precisely to finish things fast, so naturally there was no need to hold back.

In fact, it was not just this Holy Spirit general. Every Holy Spirit in the city had been brought within range of the energy radiation the instant he revealed his Dharma Form.

Granted, the radiation’s damage fell off a cliff with distance.

But even if they really did escape the city, they would soon die all the same as their genetic information collapsed.

More importantly, Jie Ming had also mixed into the energy radiation an energy output aimed specifically at the Holy Spirit race’s fundamental elemental structure. It was only an extremely tiny change, yet it was enough to drive the Holy Spirits to despair.

That was why the effect was now so outrageous: merely by standing still, he had stripped a seventh-level creature of its ability to move.

As Jie Ming was now, nothing below a Holy Spirit King was even fit to come near him.

This, too, was what other races feared most about wizard civilisation.

What wizards truly excelled at had never been fighting, but research.

They recorded, analysed and reverse-engineered, refining their own power again and again against each different race.

Once wizards had thoroughly studied a race, the war between the two sides would swiftly turn from a life-and-death struggle into a one-sided slaughter.

Looking down at the Holy Spirit general, gravely wounded and near death yet still struggling on instinct, Jie Ming reached out and loosely closed his fingers. A layer of spatial seal wrapped around its entire body.

“Relax. You won’t die.” Jie Ming’s calm voice carried down.

Of course, for this Holy Spirit general, death might well have been the better fate.

Jie Ming stuffed the sealed Holy Spirit general into his inner world.

Inside the inner world, the Black Giant priests had long since prepared an area for imprisoning high-level lifeforms.

The moment the Holy Spirit was sent in, it was thoroughly suppressed.

Elsewhere, drawn by the huge commotion Jie Ming had stirred up, Holy Spirit powerhouses kept flying up in a steady stream from the plane’s other cities as well.

But after seeing this scene from afar, these powerhouses all stopped short in horror.

Whatever their reaction, Jie Ming simply stood silently between heaven and earth.

His gaze swept across the plane’s continent, and then he raised his hand.

Boom!

Space split open, and a vast legion strode out of the rift.

One massive figure after another appeared, their heavy footsteps pounding the earth until the whole city began to tremble.

“Wipe out all resistance. Take as many prisoners as you can.”

As Jie Ming’s order went out, the whole army erupted in a deafening roar.

The Black Giant legion pushed out toward both sides of the city almost the instant it appeared, its huge bodies smashing through buildings and easily routing the Holy Spirit warriors who tried to block them.

The dragonblood mushroom-men surged forward like the tide, swiftly routing the Holy Spirit troops flying in from afar.

Watching this horrifying scene, the Holy Spirits realised that the “monster” in the sky had come to wage a war!

But then they looked again at the enormous Dharma Form standing between heaven and earth, and their will to fight rapidly drained away.

And with their high-level combatants in disarray, the defensive line this plane’s army had barely been holding together was swiftly torn open, and great numbers of Holy Spirits began to fall back.

Paying no attention to the battlefield below, Jie Ming opened the comms link to Augusta:

“How are things on your end?”

A light screen lit up, and Augusta’s figure appeared on the other side.

She was standing at the centre of the spatial array the Black Giant priests had laid out. The void around her quaked without pause as great amounts of energy surged along the array toward the suppressed spatial rift.

“No problems for now.”

She glanced at the battlefield behind Jie Ming, and the corners of her mouth lifted slightly. “Looks like it’s going more smoothly on your end than I expected.”

Jie Ming nodded. “The defences in this region are even slacker than I predicted. You can come over now. The two of us can attack from two directions.”

Unexpectedly, Augusta shook her head and refused. “No.”
