I Arrived At Wizard World While Cultivating Immortality Chapter 791: Rich
After Jie Ming signed the contract with the Star Ring Federation, Viola and the other two took their leave, and the laboratory returned to quiet.
Once the Blood Sacrifice Method formally went live, Jie Ming was still only in the frame of mind of verifying the market response, opening his magic network terminal now and then for a look.
But after barely half a day, he abandoned the habit entirely.
Because… there was no keeping up with it.
The cold blue light screen hung above the experiment bench, and his low-level military merit balance climbed madly like a rocket, the rate of increase per second measurable in the trillions.
The figures changed so fast that even his dynamic vision began to struggle, new numbers overwriting the old at every instant.
Every time Jie Ming’s gaze settled on the last few digits of the balance, before he could make them out they had already rolled over dozens of times and become an entirely different string.
Jie Ming was silent for a few seconds, then quietly closed the balance interface.
“…better not to look.” He rubbed the space between his brows and shook his head with a laugh.
“Any longer and my eyes will go blurry.”
Instead he opened the real-time sales statistics Felix had sent through.
Compared with the madly scrolling balance, this chart was a great deal more intelligible.
At the center of the screen, a curve representing sales volume drove very nearly straight up, so steep it approached ninety degrees.
Indeed, because the growth was so fast, the original statistical coordinates had lost all reference value.
An automatic annotation was attached below the chart:
[Data growth rate detected exceeding the upper limit of the standard statistical model. High-magnification coordinate system engaged automatically.]
Just then a call prompt surfaced, and Felix’s projection appeared in a corner of the screen.
“Lord Felix.”
“Hello, Wizard Jie Ming.” Felix looked much as ever. “Under our agreement, I have come to report the current data.”
“Based on historical sales model analysis, and with reference to sales fluctuation curves over the years.”
“The Blood Sacrifice Method is projected to stabilize gradually once the first round of concentrated purchasing ends. At that point its annual revenue is projected to hold steady at above ten billion low-level military merits.”
As it spoke, a report was sent to Jie Ming’s terminal. Besides the specific statistics, it came with several hundred pages of data model analysis appended.
“Thank you very much, my lord…” Jie Ming glanced at it and closed the screen outright.
In matters like this he had always trusted the professionals, or rather… the professional artificial intelligence.
If Felix said ten billion, then in all likelihood it would be more, not less.
At that thought, he let out a long breath. “At last… no more worrying about money.”
But even as he said it, his gaze had already moved to another light screen.
That one showed the Star Ring Federation’s military supplies trading platform.
Making money was for spending, after all, and spending big at that!
Jie Ming swiped a finger lightly, and the purchasing interface unfolded rapidly.
[Law stabilizers]
[High-purity elemental catalysts]
[Spiritual substrate]
[Superconducting star sand]
[Spatial anchoring crystals]
Row after row of strategic materials extended downward, and Jie Ming did not even look carefully at the prices before he began entering purchase quantities.
“Let us start with ten billion tons of this… is that a bit low? Make it a trillion tons.”
Every item Jie Ming filled in was followed by a string of digits long enough to make an ordinary wizard’s scalp crawl at the sight.
The settlement system even threw up confirmation prompts several times in a row.
[This purchase involves a very large sum. Please confirm.]
Jie Ming clicked confirm.
[This purchase involves strategic materials. Please confirm again.]
Confirm.
[Your purchase volume has been detected to exceed an ordinary legion’s annual procurement quota.]
Confirm! Confirm! Confirm!
The cart grew longer and longer, and the scrollbar at the edge of the screen kept shrinking.
In the end it had shrunk to a dot that was very nearly invisible.
Jie Ming scrolled all the way to the bottom, looked at that seemingly endless list of materials, and nodded in satisfaction.
“That will do. Buy any more and it goes past the transport capacity of the teleportation arrays on the Infernal Sulfur Plane. It is only part of what I need, but at least construction on the remaining main array eyes can finally begin.”
After several days of continuous purchasing like this.
In the laboratory, a call popped up automatically, and Jie Ming, still in the middle of his buying spree, answered offhandedly.
Felix’s gentle voice sounded slowly. “Wizard Jie Ming. Over the past seven days you have continuously purchased twelve categories of strategic material, including void crystal. At present, the price index for those materials on the Star Ring Federation open market is showing slight fluctuation.”
Jie Ming paused. “Oh?”
Felix continued its report:
“Current fluctuation is zero point zero three percent, far below the federation price warning line. However, given the overall scale of the federation market, this fluctuation already constitutes a fairly noticeable data anomaly. Considering your possible future purchases, I have the following proposal…”
The next moment, a recommendation popped up automatically.
[Recommendation: sign a long-term supply agreement with the federation military supply department.]
[This will lock in purchase prices and reduce market fluctuation.]
Jie Ming was silent a few seconds, then could not help laughing. “Ha! So I count as a major client now, do I?”
How large was the Star Ring Federation?
A super-community spanning countless planes and holding a quarter of the wizard civilization.
To make the open market of a colossus like that fluctuate by even zero point zero three percent…
meant that the merits he had thrown in over the past few days had reached a genuinely outrageous scale.
“Slight fluctuation” was the wording, but the fact that Felix had sent a notice about it at all said enough in itself.
Jie Ming did not hesitate. “Very well, I accept the recommendation. I apply to sign a long-term supply agreement.”
“Understood.”
Very nearly the instant Jie Ming agreed, the contract was signed.
After thinking it over, Jie Ming did not immediately resume purchasing, but forwarded the procurement list to the Black Giant priests back on the Infernal Sulfur Plane. On the other side of the Incense Fire Divine Dao, an enormous Black Giant priest received Jie Ming’s will and bowed respectfully at once. “Master.” Jie Ming sent the procurement list through the magic network terminal. “Materials will be arriving in batches from now on. Arrange the manpower to receive them. You are all likely to be very busy for a long while to come.”
The Black Giant priest immediately looked at the procurement list popping up on his terminal.
Even he, long accustomed to Jie Ming’s astonishing gestures of every kind, could not help falling silent for a moment.
That absurdly long string of material quantities all but filled the entire projection screen.
He drew a deep breath. “Understood. I will designate new storage zones immediately and increase the transport teams to ensure every material is received without delay.”
“Good.”
