Jiang Weiyang and Zhu Fuyi are confronted by the mysterious Imperial Preceptor Xing Ming, who reveals he was ordered to take her away. Zhu Fuyi attempts to defend Jiang Weiyang but is easily defeated. As Xing Ming prepares to capture Jiang Weiyang, a young woman emerges from a carriage, seemingly unfazed by Xing Ming's power and warning him about the Heavenslayers Alliance. Enraged, Xing Ming decides to kill the young woman, but an illusory figure summoned by her forces him to flee in terror, leaving Jiang Weiyang and Zhu Fuyi safe.

In the void, Mist of Chaos dissipated. The man’s illusory figure did not make a move, nor did he stop Master Xing Ming from escaping.

Then, he shook his head helplessly. He looked at the elated young woman in a red dress and calmly said, “You’ve used the life-saving item I gave you here. If you come across danger again, you might not be so lucky.”

The young woman smiled and cheekily stuck out her tongue before saying, “I don’t believe you’ll ignore me when I’m in danger.”

The man shook his head and spoke no further. Then, he glanced at Jiang Weiyang and Zhu Fuyi, both of them were in a dazed state. He seemed to be in deep thought but did not utter a word. Then, he disappeared like a wisp of smoke.

“Oh, no… It seems like Master got angry.”

When the young woman saw that the man directly left, the smile disappeared from her face. Now, she seemed depressed.

Although Jiang Weiyang could not see what happened, her powerful perception allowed her to form some speculation. She came to her senses and said, “Many thanks, Senior…”

Upon hearing that, the young woman shook her head and stopped looking so dejected. With a calm expression, she said. “Master has left. It’s just a wisp of Will he has left behind for me. He can’t hear your thanks.”

“Regardless, it’s thanks to him that I’m safe now. I can’t thank him enough.” Jiang Weiyang finally put on a smile.

The young woman looked curiously at her, but she did not say anything.

After Master Xing Ming fled, the stagnant Spacetime was restored. Time continued to flow and the sounds of wind and the wheels rolling could be once more heard.

The caravan continued the journey. The others were oblivious to what had happened.

Zhu Fuyi’s eyes were still wide with disbelief as he was rooted to the spot.

He had wanted to thank the mysterious man for saving their lives, but he was so overwhelmed with shock that he was unable to come to his senses, let alone express his gratitude.

“Thank you, Young Lady.” Anyway, he was not a fool. He understood that this young woman had an extraordinary background. He cupped his fists and thanked her.

Some cultivators in the caravan were surprised by his strange action, but no one asked any questions.

The young woman did not seem to have any intention of speaking to them. She waved her hand and returned to her carriage.

Jiang Weiyang seemed hesitant.

Inside the carriage, the young woman rubbed the centre of her brows. She seemed to be suffering from a headache. However, she soon emptied her mind and sat down cross-legged to start cultivating.

She did not want to be dragged into the affairs of the Main Happiness Celestial Dynasty. However, since it had already happened, she did not have a choice.

It was just that the situation was chaotic and the Heavenslayers Alliance was at war with the Righteous Alliance. Furthermore, she was suddenly dragged into an incident like this. That was why she did not manage to inform her Master about what she accidentally came across previously.

Considering the chaotic situation now, she did not want to bring trouble to herself.

She just wanted to cultivate to catch up to Gu Xianer. Also, she had to look for Tao Yao, who had mysteriously disappeared.

…

“Does he want to drag me into this matter as well? He has indirectly allowed Jiang Weiyang come into contact with the Heavenslayers Alliance, and has even sent her to my side. How interesting. If this is the Main Happiness Emperor’s arrangement, then he’s not as simple as he seems. He must have left behind many trump cards. Seems like he’s no longer willing to remain a puppet. Still, can he truly fool the Master of Yun with this kind of bad acting?”

In the Heavenslayers Alliance, the wisp of smoke dissipated before Gu Changge’s eyes. He waved it away and fell into his thoughts.

Master Xing Ming was not fooled by his bad acting.

The other party must have already targeted Yao Yao, knowing that her identity was special, especially the fact that she was closely related to Gu Changge. That was why the mastermind of the Princess’ escape used Yao Yao to force him to show up, so that Master Xing Ming had a reason to flee.

All this action was to fool the Master of Yun.

Still, even if Gu Changge never showed up, Master Xing Ming would not dare to harm Yao Yao. He would only make her suffer slightly at most.

“I told her to go out to train, but all she has learned are Gu Xianer’s bad habits. She’s like another Little Demon now…” Gu Changge shook his head.

A powerful expert could easily deduce the relationship between Yao Yao and the Heavenslayers Alliance.

Master Xing Ming was an Ancestral Dao Realm expert, so it was easy for him to know that Yao Yao was related to Gu Changge. Although it seemed as if he intended to capture Jiang Weiyang, his true intention was to force Gu Changge to show up.

Despite knowing all this, Gu Changge played along and showed up to scare him away.

Through this incident, Gu Changge discovered that he had underestimated the Main Happiness Emperor.

He had almost forgotten about this insignificant being. After all, he did not think Jiang Yun was capable of breaking free from the Master of Yun’s control.

However, Master Xing Ming managed to choose the right time and have Jiang Weiyang form a connection with the Heavenslayers Alliance, and Gu Changge.

All of these coincidences happened at the same time, so it was apparent that it was not accidental.

Perhaps Jiang Yun had already made these arrangements long ago and secretly told Master Xing Ming to do such a thing.

People like Master Xing Ming, Old Lady Xing Ying, and Star King Bai Mei, who was still confined to the prison in the Primary Hope Holy Church, came from Ardent Ruins Cave.

Judging from the current situation, it seemed that Master Xing Ming had secretly betrayed Ardent Ruins Cave.

Although it seemed like Jiang Yun was a puppet, he had already made some plans to deal with the Master of Yun.

“This show is getting more interesting. In that case, I shall lend you a hand.” Gu Change put on a meaningful smile. “Otherwise, your bad acting would never fool the Master of Yun.”

With that, he extended a hand and the Spacetime before his eyes collapsed. A black hole formed above his palm. All the rules and Principles were destroyed. His hand seemed able to annihilate a universe.

On the other end of the black hole was a tranquil Spacetime, but it soon contorted and fell apart. Master Xing Ming, whose calmness was restored, stood there meditatively.

But the next moment, the void above his head collapsed and Spacetime fell apart. A hand descended while carrying a terrifying aura that could destroy the world.

“Huh?” Master Xing Ming was flabbergasted. He now looked more terrified than he was earlier. Without hesitation, he ran away.

Nevertheless, regardless of how fast he could run, the hand seemed to have locked onto him. The Spacetime around him continuously contorted and broke apart.

Master Xing Ming gritted his teeth and summoned an ancient compass. There were all sorts of stars, Grand Runes and Principles. They were dense and exuded an ancient aura.

The moment the compass appeared, a light shot forward as the stars shook. The pressure filled the Spacetime in an attempt to stop the hand from descending.

The next moment, a crack was heard as the hand directly struck the compass. The stars dimmed and came apart. At the same time, a crack started spreading.

Master Xing Ming was heartbroken, but he did not have time to lament in his sorrows. The hand penetrated the broken compass and struck his body.

Upon impact, Master Xing Ming groaned in pain and was sent flying away in this Spacetime. He sprayed out a mouthful of blood, which contained the broken pieces of his organs. His white robe was dyed red with blood, badly injured to the point he could hardly stand.

After striking him, the hand slowly dissipated. Only the terrifying pressure remained in that Spacetime to intimidate all those that opposed it.

“He’s so strong. Even though the attack was separated by the boundless Spacetime, it was still so mighty.”

Master Xing Ming smiled helplessly before spraying out another mouthful of blood. Then, he gulped down the blood and suppressed his pain.

He never expected he would be this battered one day.

However, he was not displeased or resentful. After picking up the broken compass, he looked in the direction the hand had disappeared and said, “Thank you for not killing me, Alliance Leader.”

He knew that if Gu Changge intended to kill him, he would not have survived.

Now, it seemed like Gu Changge had deduced his intentions. Therefore, Gu Changge did not kill him but rather aided him.

[Now, it seems that this risky bet that the Emperor has made might have been the right one.] Master Xing Ming thought to himself. Then, he quickly left the place.

Now, he was badly injured, and the Dao Artifact he had nurtured his entire life was broken. When the Ardent Ruins Cave Master sees this, how could he doubt anything?

…

“What happened just now? Why was that guy so frightened that he ran away?”

Meanwhile, in the void above the Forest of the Dead, a hideous-looking man with a large scar on his face frowned and looked down in shock.

Beside him, a black dog surrounded by a mist stood there. It seemed able to meditate, just like a Human. It even spoke Human language. “That guy who had snuck into Spacetime is supposed to be Master Xing Ming of the Main Happiness Celestial Dynasty. He has gone through his Eighth Decay Tribulation, so he is unfathomably strong. I suppose even he did not notice our presence. Just now, the fluctuations of Spacetime became stagnant. I guess he wanted to bring Jiang Weiyang back to the Main Happiness Celestial Dynasty, but for some reason, a horrifying aura that frightened even me suddenly appeared. Master Xing Ming must have run away because of that aura.”

“It seems like someone with an extraordinary background is hidden in the ordinary caravan. But, why did that person not discover our presence?” The hideous-looking man glanced down with a frown. He was hesitating whether he should keep tailing them.

He was still reeling from the shock because of what had happened. Now, he just wanted to run away.

They had been hiding well and never revealed anything while tailing Jiang Weiyang all along. Even Jiang Weiyang was not aware of their presence.

But just now, he suddenly had a feeling that a pair of eyes could see through him.

The black dog said. “It wasn’t his True Form. It was only a wisp of his Will. If he had personally arrived, he would’ve discovered us. The young woman in a red dress in the caravan has a special background. After passing through the Forest of the Dead, they’ll reach the boundary of the Heavenslayers Alliance. By then, it’ll be impossible for us to keep following them. We can’t keep hiding and tailing them inside the Heavenslayers Alliance like what we’ve been doing the entire time.”

The hideous man seemed hesitant upon hearing that.

The black dog shook its head and continued to say, “I know what you’re worried about. Ji Yu is supposed to reach the Nine Heavens soon. Even if he finds out about Jiang Weiyang’s whereabouts, there’s nothing he can do.”

“Forget it. It’ll be pointless for us to keep following her. Jiang Yun told his Daughter to run away from the Main Happiness Celestial Dynasty and then sent some people to capture her. What is he trying to achieve? Is it merely his way of getting close to the Imperial South Kingdom? Perhaps he doesn’t want to let his Daughter marry the Ninth Prince.”

The hideous man sighed and spoke doubtfully.

The black dog ignored him. It stared fixedly at the young woman’s carriage among the caravan with its green eyes. Then, it turned into a ray of light and disappeared into the void.

The caravan continued its journey, and it was soon nighttime. The mountain looked desolate with all these ancient trees.

Just then, miasma started appearing in the forest. The ferocious beasts responsible for carrying goods in front of the caravan started growling and becoming fidgety as though detecting something.

The cultivators responsible for protecting the goods became wary as well. They summoned their weapons and ancient Artifacts. Glows of different colours radiated from the void.

“It’s fine. Those are merely some Demonic Beasts. They dare not come near. After taking a turn there, we can get some rest.” The manager of the caravan, the shrivelled old man with a shrewd gaze, spoke solemnly after scanning the surroundings.

Inside the carriage, the young woman in a red dress stopped cultivating and opened her eyes when she heard the noise.

“I don’t think anyone would be that untactful as to come and snatch that thing at this point.” She drew the curtains and took a look at the carriage behind her which was tightly covered in a black cloth. Then, she pocketed her gaze with peace of mind.

However, just as she was ready to close her eyes and continue cultivating, she heard a soft voice from outside the carriage. “Are you getting some rest, Young Lady?”

Jiang Weiyang came up to the carriage with the help of a maidservant. It seemed that she wanted to speak to the young woman in a red dress.

The young woman frowned upon hearing that, and then her expression became emotionless again. “I have no intention of asking you any questions, nor do I want to bring trouble to myself.”

Jiang Weiyang saluted her and said apologetically, “I’m sorry for dragging you into an incident like that. I didn’t expect such a thing to happen either. I’ve come up to you because I have some questions to ask. Forget it if you’re not willing to speak to me.”

After she finished speaking, her maidservant respectfully presented a storage bag the size of a palm and embroidered with intricate patterns to the young woman.

“It’s a little gift for you. Take it as a token of my apology. I hope you’ll accept it,” Jiang Weiyang said.

The young woman did not take the storage bag. With an emotionless face, she said, “Just tell me what your questions are.”

Jiang Weiyang seemed hesitant.

Knowing what the other woman meant, the young woman drew the curtains open and extended her fair hand. “If you need to keep it a secret, come on in.”

Jiang Weiyang appeared grateful and entered the carriage with her help.

It was a world of its own inside the carriage, just like a Supreme Cave. There were all sorts of items like a jade bed, a table, several chairs, a tea set, and cushions. The fragrant smoke coming from the incense sticks could even soothe one’s mind.

Tea was being prepared on the jade table.

Jiang Weiyang took a seat on a chair and took off her bamboo hat, revealing her face that was half covered in a greenish black mark.

The young woman was not surprised by her appearance. After giving it some thought, she imitated her Master and poured a cup of tea for Jiang Weiyang to show how polite she was.

“The tea smells great. When I was by my Parents back then, I rarely had a chance to get a whiff of such fragrant tea. It’s soothing and can help clear one’s mind. It’s thanks to you that I have a chance to have a taste of it today.” Jiang Weiyang sniffed and was pleasantly surprised. She could not help but praise the young woman.

She had no intention of hiding her identity and background in front of this young woman. After all, this young woman had seen her speaking to Master Xing Ming. Any sharp person would realise who she was.

The young woman was pleased with Jiang Weiyang’s compliment. With a smile, she said, “Of course. I secretly took away some tea leaves from my Master’s tearoom. He loves drinking tea.”
