His innocent wife is a dangerous hacker. Chapter 961: Her Boyfriend Is an Expensive Model (5)
Previously on His innocent wife is a dangerous hacker....
Brittany, the model assigned to the campaign, approached with a pleasant smile. She had long, straight dark hair, beautiful black eyes and a sculpted face that looked particularly striking beneath the studio lights. Her curvy figure had made her popular among fashion brands and she was quite aware of the attention she received.
"Ma’am, I’ll get you another one," Kyle offered quickly.
Dominique lowered the coconut water and frowned at him.
"Why are you offering her mine? You’re my assistant, not hers."
Kyle immediately nodded. "Yes, sir."
Brittany laughed softly, apparently finding the exchange amusing. "Oh, I don’t need a whole one. I just wanted a sip from yours."
She leaned a little closer, making no attempt to hide the way she was trying to catch his attention.
Dominique glanced at the coconut water in his hand, then at her.
"No. I’ve already drunk from it, and I don’t like sharing with people."
He said it so casually that he didn’t even seem to notice the awkward silence that followed.
"Anyway, I’m going outside. It’s too hot in here."
With that, he handed the empty coconut to Kyle and walked away.
Brittany remained where she was, her smile becoming slightly stiff.
She wasn’t accustomed to being dismissed so easily. Most men were more than willing to find an excuse to spend time with her and she had expected Dominique to be no different. He was handsome, certainly but that only made her more determined to get his attention.
She watched him leave, deciding that he was probably just difficult to impress.
Outside the studio, Dominique took a deep breath of the relatively cooler air. He adjusted his shirt and checked his reflection in his phone’s black screen, making sure his hair hadn’t been ruined by the humidity.
A few people nearby noticed him almost immediately.
One woman whispered something to her friend and another discreetly lifted her phone to take a picture. Dominique was used to it. His face was difficult to overlook and he had long since grown accustomed to people recognizing him in public.
He noticed the camera pointed in his direction and offered a small, effortless smile before continuing toward the shaded area.
After all, if people were going to take his pictures, they might as well get a good one.
Kyle soon returned, carrying a large umbrella in one hand and a wide-brimmed hat in the other. The moment he reached Dominique, he opened the umbrella and carefully positioned it above his head, shielding him from the scorching afternoon sun.
"Sir, you should wear this as well. The sun is quite strong today, and we don’t want you getting sunburned."
Dominique glanced at the hat before accepting it. He placed it on his head and adjusted the brim with both hands, carefully arranging it until it sat perfectly over his hair. He tilted his head slightly, checking how it looked from different angles before finally seeming satisfied.
"Hmm. Not bad."
He then pulled out his phone, opened the front camera and began examining his reflection.
A few seconds later, he started taking selfies.
The first picture was too serious. He looked handsome, of course, but it lacked the charm he wanted. The second one wasn’t quite right either; the angle made his face look slightly wider than he preferred.
He deleted both.
For the third attempt, he tilted his face slightly to the side, allowing the warm sunlight to fall naturally across his cheekbones. His lips curved into a charming smile and he gave the camera a rather confident look.
He examined the picture, zoomed in slightly, and studied every little detail.
His smile widened.
"Beautiful."
Kyle, who was holding the umbrella above him, politely pretended not to hear. He had been working for Dominique long enough to know that commenting on his employer’s selfie sessions was an unnecessary risk.
Dominique, meanwhile, was completely satisfied with his photography skills.
He sent one picture to his friend before opening Hazel’s chat. His thumb hovered over the screen as he selected the best selfie, attached it, and began composing a message. He typed something, deleted it and typed again. Apparently, sending a simple picture wasn’t enough. The occasion deserved an equally magnificent caption.
After a few moments, he finally sent it.
Dominique:
Dominique:
Dominique:
He read his own messages once, looking rather pleased with his choice of words and slipped into a comfortable waiting position.
Then he waited.
A minute passed.
He unlocked his phone and checked the screen.
He opened the chat again, just in case the notification hadn’t appeared.
Another minute passed.
Dominique narrowed his eyes slightly.
Perhaps she hadn’t seen the picture yet.
Or perhaps she was deliberately ignoring him.
"Sir, they’re ready for you," Kyle reminded him.
"Wait. I’m busy."
Kyle glanced at the phone in his employer’s hand, then at the camera crew waiting nearby. He decided it was probably better not to ask what could possibly be more important than the scheduled photoshoot.
Dominique was still staring at his screen when a notification finally appeared.
His expression immediately brightened.
Hazel:
Hazel:
Dominique stared at the screen.
His eyebrows slowly drew together.
"..."
After all the effort he’d put into taking the perfect selfie and composing such a beautiful message, that was her response?
He looked at his picture again, then back at her reply, as if trying to understand how someone could be so indifferent to such an obvious masterpiece.
His fingers quickly moved across the keyboard.
Dominique:
Her reply arrived shortly afterwards.
Hazel:
Dominique waited, expecting more.
When nothing else appeared, he immediately typed again.
Dominique:
