Bella and Leo leave the orphanage, but Leo is distracted by a lonely boy. Their drive is interrupted when Miss J calls, informing them that Grandpa William's condition has worsened. They rush to the hospital, where Bella finds William frail and weak. He expresses a desire to go outside for fresh air and to spend time with her.

Bella stood beside them, watching every movement with worried eyes.

Once everything was ready, she placed both hands on the wheelchair handles. "I’ll push him."

Leo looked at her for a moment, then nodded. "I’ll be right beside you."

Together, they slowly left the ward.

The evening air welcomed them the moment they stepped outside.

It was 6:01 p.m.

The hospital garden was quiet, touched by the soft light of sunset. The temperature had dropped slightly and a cool breeze moved gently through the trees, brushing against William’s face.

He closed his eyes. For the first time that day, his expression seemed completely peaceful.

He breathed in slowly. "Ah..." His voice was barely above a whisper. "That feels good."

Bella smiled through her tears. "You were asking to come outside all this time just for this?"

William chuckled softly. "Sometimes, my dear, we spend too much time looking for happiness in big things." He opened his eyes and looked around. "Fresh air... A little sunlight... Someone you love sitting beside you... These things become precious when you realize they were never guaranteed."

Bella’s hands tightened around the wheelchair handles. She didn’t like where his words were going.

William looked toward the sky. The setting sun had painted the clouds in shades of orange and gold, making the entire sky look soft and dreamlike.

Suddenly, his eyes brightened slightly. "Bella..." "Hmm?" "Look at that cloud." He pointed weakly toward the sky. "Doesn’t it look like a bunny?"

Bella followed his gaze. For a moment, she simply stared. Then a small smile appeared through her tears. "Indeed." She nodded. "It looks like a bunny."

William laughed quietly. "I knew you’d agree."

Bella smiled. "You always find bunnies."

"Because my granddaughter is one."

Bella’s smile trembled. She looked at him.

William continued staring at the sky. "You know, Bella..." His voice became softer. "People spend their whole lives thinking they need more time. More money... More success. More things...but when life becomes quiet..." He smiled faintly. "You realize that the most precious things were never the things you were chasing."

Bella’s eyes filled again.

William looked at her. "They were the people who stayed. The hands that held yours when you were frightened. The voices that called your name when you felt alone. The people who made an ordinary evening feel like something worth remembering."

His eyes became slightly moist. "And I was lucky."

Bella’s heart sank. "Grandpa..."

William smiled at her. "I was lucky enough to find you."

Bella stopped walking. Her hands slipped away from the wheelchair. She quickly moved around to stand in front of him. "Grandpa, please..." Her voice broke. "Don’t say things like that."

William looked at her gently.

Bella lowered herself beside his wheelchair and wrapped both arms around him. "I don’t like this." Her tears finally escaped. "Please don’t scare me."

William slowly placed one trembling hand on the back of her head. "My child... I’m not going anywhere this very second." He gently stroked her hair. "But don’t be afraid of something that every living soul must eventually face."

Bella shook her head against his chest. "I don’t want to hear it."

"I know." His voice remained calm. "But listen to me once."

Bella stayed silent.

William looked toward the orange sky again. "Every soul comes into this world carrying something. Sometimes it’s a lesson. Sometimes it’s love. Sometimes it’s a person they were meant to meet. And sometimes..." He smiled. "Sometimes we don’t understand the purpose of our life until we look back at it."

His fingers gently moved through Bella’s hair. "I believe I’ve received more than enough. I had years. I had people I loved. I had a life full of mistakes, laughter, loss, success and memories. And then, very late in my life..." He looked down at Bella. "I found my beautiful girl."

Bella cried harder.

"You came into my life when I thought there wasn’t much left to look forward to. You gave this old man something to wait for. Something to smile about."

William’s voice became quieter. "So when my time eventually comes... Please don’t think of it as me being taken away from you."

Bella lifted her tearful face. "Then what should I think?"

William smiled gently. "Think that I simply went ahead." He looked toward the endless sky. "And one day, when you look up and see a strange little cloud..." He chuckled softly. "Maybe you’ll remember that your silly old grandpa once thought it looked like a bunny."

Bella let out a broken little laugh through her tears. "You’re not silly."

"I am."

"You’re stubborn."

"That too."

"Annoying."

"Definitely."

Bella laughed again, even though tears continued falling down her cheeks.

William smiled. "That’s better."

"What?"

"That smile." He gently touched her cheek. "That’s the face I want to remember."

Bella’s expression collapsed again and she hugged him tightly. "Grandpa..."

William closed his eyes for a moment, holding her as much as his weakening body allowed. "Don’t be afraid of loving people just because one day you might lose them." His voice was barely a whisper now. "Love them anyway. Love them completely. Because the pain of missing someone is proof that they gave you something beautiful while they were here."

Bella held him tighter. "I love you."

William’s eyes opened. A fragile smile appeared on his face. "I know, my child." He looked at her for a long moment. "And I love you too."

Then he glanced toward the sunset once more. "I just wish..."

His voice suddenly faded.

Bella lifted her head. "Grandpa?"

William didn’t finish his sentence. His eyes remained fixed somewhere beyond her, and his expression had changed so suddenly that Bella’s heart seemed to stop.

"Grandpa?"

She reached for his hand. It felt frighteningly still.

Her smile disappeared. "Grandpa...?"

Leo, who had been standing a short distance away, immediately stepped closer.

The peaceful evening suddenly felt unbearably quiet.

"Grandpa?"

Her voice was small, trembling.

William didn’t respond.

His eyes remained fixed on the sky, on that distant orange and pink horizon, as though he had seen something beautiful that no one else could see. His face was peaceful, his lips slightly parted, the faintest trace of a smile at the corners of his mouth.
