His innocent wife is a dangerous hacker. Chapter 883 Grandpa condition has become worse
Previously on His innocent wife is a dangerous hacker....
After spending several hours at Angels Orphanage, it was finally time for Bella and Leo to leave.
Bella had been smiling almost the entire way back to the car. She kept talking about the children, remembering every little thing they had shown her, from their toys and drawings to their tiny beds and favorite pillows. Every few moments, another memory seemed to come back to her, making her smile all over again.
"That little girl with the curly hair was so cute," Bella said happily. "And that little boy who..."
Leo listened quietly.
But unlike Bella, his mind wasn’t entirely at the orphanage’s joyful moments. He kept remembering the little boy sitting alone. Those unusually mature eyes. Something about him had stayed in Leo’s mind.
Bella eventually noticed his silence. She glanced at him for a few seconds before gently placing her hand on his thigh.
"What are you thinking about?"
Leo looked down at her hand, then at her curious face. "Nothing."
Bella narrowed her eyes slightly. "You are thinking about something."
Leo gave a faint smile and wrapped one arm around her shoulders, pulling her gently against his side. "It’s nothing you need to worry about, Bunny."
Bella rested her head against him but still looked suspicious.
Leo’s gaze drifted toward the window again. He didn’t know why that little boy had affected him so much. Perhaps it was simply the child’s loneliness. Or perhaps it was the look in his eyes.
He finally pushed the thought aside. At least for now.
The car was almost home when Bella’s phone suddenly rang.
She looked at the screen and immediately recognized the caller. "Mama J?"
Her expression became slightly confused. She quickly answered. "Hello?"
There was no response.
Bella blinked. "Hello?"
.
She looked at the phone again, wondering whether the call had disconnected. "Mama J?"
Then, finally, she heard a trembling breath on the other end.
"Sweet girl..." Miss J’s voice sounded completely different from usual.
Bella immediately sat straighter. "Mama J? What’s wrong?"
Miss J tried to calm her voice, but Bella could hear the emotion behind it. "Sweet girl, can you give the phone to Leo? He’s not picking up his phone."
Bella’s expression changed. "Okay." She immediately turned toward Leo and handed him the phone. "Mama J wants to talk to you."
Leo took it. "Hello?"
For a moment, Miss J didn’t speak.
Then she finally whispered, "Leo..." Her voice broke slightly. "Please come with Bella to the hospital."
Leo’s expression became serious immediately. "What happened?"
"It’s Grandpa William." There was a pause. "His condition has become worse."
Leo’s eyes widened slightly. He instinctively glanced toward Bella. She was already watching him with worried eyes, trying to understand what was happening.
Miss J continued, her voice trembling. "Please bring her carefully. Don’t let her get too frightened."
Leo’s jaw tightened. "Of course."
"Please come as quickly as you can." Miss J was crying now. "I don’t know how much time..." She stopped herself, unable to finish the sentence.
Leo’s expression became serious. "We’re coming."
He ended the call.
For a moment, the car was completely silent.
Bella stared at him. "Leo..."
He immediately reached for her hand and held it tightly. "We’re going to the hospital."
Her smile had disappeared. "What happened?"
Leo looked at her, knowing he couldn’t hide the truth. "Grandpa William’s condition has become worse."
Bella’s eyes immediately filled with tears. She lowered her gaze, her fingers tightening around his. "Is he..." She couldn’t finish.
Leo gently pulled her against his chest. "Don’t think about the worst, Bunny." His voice was calm and reassuring, even though the news had shaken him too. "We’re going to see him."
Bella nodded against his chest, trying desperately to hold herself together.
The car turned around almost immediately, heading toward the hospital.

Bella ran through the hospital corridor the moment the doors opened, her footsteps hurried and uneven as Leo followed closely behind her. She barely noticed anything around her. Her only thought was Grandpa William.
The moment she reached his ward, she pushed the door open and everything inside her seemed to stop.
William was lying quietly on the hospital bed. The man she remembered as strong and warm now looked frighteningly fragile. His face had become thinner, the lines around his eyes deeper and his silver hair seemed even whiter beneath the soft hospital light. His body looked so small beneath the blanket that Bella’s heart seemed to tighten painfully in her chest.
For a few seconds, she couldn’t move. She simply stood there, staring at him.
William noticed her. A faint smile slowly appeared on his tired face. It was the same smile he always gave her whenever he saw her.
Bella’s eyes immediately filled with tears.
"Come here, my child." His voice was weak but it was still filled with the same affection.
Bella swallowed hard. She walked toward him slowly, each step feeling heavier than the last. When she finally reached his bedside and saw him from such a close distance, the truth became even harder to ignore.
He looked so old. Too old.
Her lips trembled. "Grandpa..."
William reached out his thin hand toward her. Bella immediately took it between both of hers and held it tightly. His fingers felt colder than she remembered.
William smiled. "Bella... I’m tired of taking all these medicines." He paused to catch his breath before looking at her with almost childlike hope. "Can I go outside with you?"
Bella’s eyes became red. "Outside?"
"Yes." He gave her a tiny smile. "I want some fresh air. I want to see the sky. I want to sit beside my beautiful girl for a little while."
Bella desperately tried to hold back her tears. She knew what he was really asking for.
While William simply wanted to leave the white hospital room for a little while and spend time with her.
So Bella nodded. "Of course." Her voice trembled. "We’ll go outside."
Leo quietly helped William sit up and carefully transferred him into a wheelchair. He adjusted the blanket around the old man’s shoulders before making sure he was comfortable.
