Leo and Bella visit a well-maintained orphanage run by a loving couple. While Leo discusses management with the husband, Bella is charmed by the children, who ask her to play hide-and-seek with them.

"Twenty!" Leo’s voice echoed through the garden as he finished counting against the enormous oak tree. He pressed his palm flat against the rough bark, his eyes still closed. "I’m coming."

The moment he took a step, the entire garden fell unusually quiet.

Well... almost quiet.

Tiny giggles kept escaping from every direction...behind bushes, under benches, from the branches of a low-hanging willow tree. The children were trying so hard to be silent but their excitement so High that they are trying to cantrol their little laughter.

Leo couldn’t help smiling.

These little ones were terrible at hiding.

He deliberately walked in the wrong direction first, his footsteps slow and exaggerated. "Hmm... I wonder where everyone disappeared. It’s so quiet..too quiet."

A pair of tiny sneakers was sticking out from behind a flower bush, the bright red laces giving away the hiding spot completely. Leo looked directly at them... then calmly walked away as if he hadn’t noticed.

The little boy hiding there immediately covered his mouth with both hands, his eyes wide, trying very hard not to laugh. His small shoulders shook with the effort of keeping quiet.

A few steps later, Leo crouched beside a wooden bench, peering underneath with exaggerated concentration. "...Nobody here."

Even though two little girls were clearly hiding underneath it, their colorful dresses peeking out from beneath the slats. The girls looked at each other, their eyes sparkling with excitement.

"He didn’t find us!" one whispered proudly, her voice barely audible.

The other girl nodded vigorously, pressing her hand over her own mouth.

Bella stood nearby, her hand pressed against her lips as she watched the whole scene unfold. She had never imagined Leonardo Moretti would seriously play hide-and-seek with a group of children.

Just then, a tiny voice squealed from somewhere behind him. "Hehehe!"

Leo slowly turned around, his expression perfectly serious. "...I definitely heard something." He walked toward the sound.

The children immediately became even quieter. A few of them held their breath, pressing themselves flat against their hiding spots.

Leo reached a large tree with a thick trunk. He looked to the left. Nothing. He looked to the right. Still nothing.

Meanwhile, behind the very same tree, four little children stood shoulder to shoulder with their eyes tightly shut. As if closing their eyes made them invisible. One little girl had her hands pressed over her own face, peeking through her fingers.

Bella almost burst into laughter. She had to cover her mouth with both hands.

Leo purposely scratched his chin, his brow furrowed in exaggerated confusion. "Strange... I guess everyone disappeared."

The four children silently celebrated behind the tree, their little bodies practically vibrating with glee.

"He can’t see us!" one whispered excitedly.

Another immediately shushed him. "Be quiet! He’ll hear!"

Leo continued walking away dramatically, his shoulders slumping in mock defeat. "I suppose I lose. I’m just not good at this game."

The children couldn’t contain themselves anymore. They all jumped out together, their laughter exploding like fireworks.

"We’re here!!"

"Surprise!"

"We won!"

Leo turned around with exaggerated surprise, his eyes widening. "Oh. There you are. I had no idea."

The children laughed so hard that several of them nearly fell onto the grass, clutching their stomachs. One tiny boy with messy brown hair and a missing front tooth proudly placed his hands on his hips, his chest puffed out.

"You’re not very good at hide-and-seek," he announced with the authority of a true expert.

Bella laughed openly this time.

Leo looked at the little boy with a perfectly serious expression, his gray eyes soft. "I know. I think I need more practice."

The little boy nodded wisely, his face serious. "I’ll teach you."

Leo replied solemnly, his lips twitching. "I’d appreciate that."

The little boy beamed.

Bella laughed even harder, tears forming at the corners of her eyes. She walked over and slipped her hand into Leo’s, squeezing gently.

Later, Bella happily spent time with the little girls first.

"Big sister!" One of them tugged on her hand, her eyes wide with excitement. "Come! We’ll show you our room!"

Several little girls immediately surrounded her, each trying to lead her in a different direction. Their voices overlapped, filling the corridor with cheerful Voices.

"No, this way!"

"Our room is prettier!"

"Mine is near the window!"

Bella laughed as they gently pulled her along the hallway, her heart warming at their eagerness. She let them guide her, enjoying the feeling of being so completely welcomed.

When Reyna opened the door to the girls’ dormitory, Bella stepped inside and her eyes softened. The room was spacious, bright and wonderfully cozy.

Rows of neat little beds were arranged beautifully, each with its own colorful blanket and pillow. Some beds had pink quilts decorated with tiny flowers, while others had soft blue or yellow blankets with stars and clouds. Every bed had a small shelf beside it holding storybooks, framed drawings, hairbrushes and precious little treasures the girls had collected over the years.

Cute curtains fluttered gently beside the windows and handmade butterflies and paper flowers decorated the walls.

"It feels so warm and cosy..." Bella whispered with a smile.

The girls immediately became excited.

"This is my bed!" A little girl proudly climbed onto a bed covered with a pink blanket, patting the soft quilt. "And this is my pillow!" She hugged a fluffy heart-shaped cushion tightly. "And this is Princess." She held up a well-loved doll wearing a tiny handmade dress with mismatched buttons.

Bella smiled warmly. "Princess is adorable."

Another little girl hurried over, her pigtails bouncing. "Big sister! Mine is over here!" She proudly pointed toward a bed beside the window, her voice full of importance. "I sleep here because I like watching the stars."

Bella’s heart softened. "That sounds lovely."

Soon every little girl wanted to introduce her own little corner.

"This teddy sleeps with me every night."

"I made this flower!"

"Reyna granny braided my doll’s hair!"

"Look! I folded these clothes myself!"

Bella listened to every single story with genuine interest, kneeling beside each bed, examining each treasure with wide-eyed wonder. She asked questions about their favorite colors, their dreams, their favorite bedtime stories. She made each little girl feel as though her tiny world was the most important one.
